Nice tasking - but they have just shrunk AGAIN !

published

I am sure we are so damn annoying at the ever shrinking size of confectionary and especially Cadbury.

Just purchased a Picnic (I usually get a couple every week) and once again it has shrunk in size. 46g And if I'm wrong about this being a new low, then the one I had must have shrunk on the way home because it is smaller than usual.

I am just fed up with this. $0.85 is all they are worth. I never pay any more for these. Refuse to.

Purchased in August 2021 at Woolworths for A$0.85.

@ $0.85 ITS OK, @ $2.20, FORGET IT

published

As with all Cadbury chocolates, they're absolute failures in taste and price. However, with Woolworths discounting Picnic to $0.85, that's ok, because that's all they are worth.
1990 = 100g, 2000 = 80g, 2010 = 52g, 2014 = 48g, 2016 = 42g and 2018 = 38g. At this rate, Coles miniature thingo's will be the actual size of everything we buy.

Cadbury Picnic

I like this product but for those who do not like the diameter of the bar, should try the Cadbury Picnic Family Block. It is absolutely YUM
If you do not eat a lot of chocolate at any one time then this is probably the one for you
Not yet available in smaller size in this form other than family block but like all Cadbury blocks they are resealable and will keep once open
Yeah

Shrinking.

published

Looks like the picnic bar is shrinking AGAIN.
The manufacturers always deny this.
It now weighs 38 grammes.
No doubt the "NEW BIGGER SIZE" bar will be announced soon.
The public know raw materials are costing more. Don't insult our intelligence.
Just put the price up and save face.

Taste good

This is like the best chocolate bar ever, it's cheap and taste really good. It takes very little space too.

Another chocolate bar this shrinking in size.

The Picnic bar is a favourite of mine but having been out of the country I found it had shrunk.

I choose a Picnic bar when I am hungry and want chocolate as I know that it will satisfy the chocolate craving but also fill me up. I like the combination of caramel, wafer, nuts and chocolate - I think it is the nuts that have the "filling" factor. The only con is that sometimes the nuts and bits of chocolate fall off when you bite into it. And if it is cold or has been in the fridge, the caramel is hard which makes it not as nice to eat.
great combination of caramel, wafer, nuts and chocolate. A really filling chocolate bar
bits can fall off when you take a bite

This is a nice variety to try, not my favourite. Its too sweet for me, maybe its the caramel inside. Eating a whole bar would make me feel sick, whereas I could eat a whole of some other type. It just doesn't taste as good as the others.
This is a chocolate I have tried and I would only buy it if I really craved the taste. Its got the nuts, wafer, chocolate, but somehow it doesnt click for me.
Its a bit messy to eat, but that's not a real problem. It can be a bit sweet, so I can only eat half of it, which is a good thing.

I always think of a Picnic as a bar you eat if you are a bit hungry but are going for a chocolate fix. I love peanuts with chocolate so these bars go down a treat for me. I loved that campaign they had a while back 'deliciously ugly'. I would not eat these often as I feel they are quite big for me but really enjoy them if I do have one.
Perfect combination of nuts, caramel, wafer and chocolate. They are simply delicious.
I had someone try and trick me and pretend there was a dog poo on my car seat using a Picnic. Yuck!

Cadbury seem to have gotten the recipe just right when they invented the Picnic Bar! There is just the right amount of peanuts to chocolate and wafer ratio. I adore eating these and find them hard to resist when paying for my petrol at the service station, oops!
These chocolates are not too big, so you don't feel sick when you're finished. The taste is awesome and hard to resist once you've had a bite - you'll need to finish the whole thing!
Picnic bars are undoubtedly fattening and full of vitamin-leaching sugar, so not a good choice if you're trying to look after yourself. They also contain nuts, so watch out if your allergic or around people who are.

Another winner from a stable company, just not my cup of tea. In spite of this, hubby always picks this one so evidently it isn't too bad!
It has that lovely smooth taste that all Cadbury chocolate has and is located in every possible location, so never hard to find one. Very good size for the price and has a nice nutty flavour.
My one complaint would be that it's a little chunky, but I'm aware that that would be why some people love it! I'm not that much of a fan of the taste, too much going on at once, but I do like the nut and the chocolate combo.

I generally don't eat Cadbury Picnic Bars that often because I like to keep my chocolate in the fridge. If you eat a Picnic Bar straight from the fridge, you risk chipping a tooth. The caramel goes really hard and it becomes rather frustrating to bite through the chocolate. But for those of you out there who enjoy your chocolate soft, gooey and melted, I do recommend this one for you.
These Cadbury Picnic Bars are available in several different sizes to match your appetite.
The caramel can go really hard even when they are not stored in the fridge.

One of my favourite bars! Love the combination - its a classic. comes in tiny one bite sizes in cadburys chocolate selection box,fun size, normal and kingsize! in Summer I put it in the fridge to keep cool, but the caramel goes hard - Oh well, makes it last longer! :) makes a great snack to fill you up and give you energy for the 4pm munchies.
Love anything with a caramel/toffee filling! wrapped in cadbury chocolate, wafer and peanuts - yum! comes in a few sizes and reasonably priced. Sold everywhere.
sometimes the caramel is a bit hard.Always disappointed when I come to the end!

I love any combination of peanuts, caramel & chocolate. It just works so well. The picnic is a great example of this and is thoroughly enjoyable. The only thing is that it is quite messy to eat and I stain something with chocolate everytime I eat one! It is totally worth the mess though.
Very delicious, widely available in a number of sizes
Very messy. Sometime the caramel can be a bit hard to bit into

This is a gorgeous combination of chocolate, wafer, nuts and caramel, which can be found almost anywhere that sells chocolate! Available in a variety of sizes, from snack-size to man-size and a filling treat.
The chewy texture and combination of wafer, nuts, caramel and chocolate!
Obviously no good for those with allergies to nuts.

Cadbury Picnic Bars are log shaped with wafer, caramel, peanuts and yummy dairy chocolate. Great for kids and adults with its crunchy texture and great tatse. Very yummy, cheap chocolate treat. I love Picnic Bars as they are crunchy and the wafer and caramel center is just irresistable. Great combinations of flavours and excellently crafted. These chocolate and peanut bars are readily available at many places such as service stations, super markets and news agents. Every one should try this great chocolate bar.
Great chocolate and peanut treat. Cheap.
People with Peanut Allergies would not be able to indulge in this yummy chocolate treat.

This is a delicious treat. The caramel, peanut and wafer filling is coated with Cadbury's delicious milk chocolate. The peanut and wafer centre is held together by the caramel and just melts in my mouth. The chunky peanut bits also gives good texture to the chocolate bar. It truly is all my favourites rolled into one scrumptious bar. I always have to stock up on this product when it's on special because the whole family just loves it.
-Easily found in supermarkets or petrol stations
-Comes in several (king size, fun size etc) sizes
-Not suitable for those with allergies to peanuts

Cadbury Picnic Bar is one of the heavier chocolates in the Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate range. Consisting of a fairly large log style, Picnic's ingredients include wafer biscuit, chewy caramel and good sized peanut chunks, encased in dairy milk chocolate. Combined, these make for a more substantial snack so are great for someone with a bigger appetite or requiring higher energy intake. Most of my male friends love Picnic. Generally speaking, it is not a favourite choice of children.
A wonderful snack for lovers of nuts in chocolate.
Despite its delicious taste, this chocolate has to be ruled out for anyone with nut allergies.
