This is the right way to lose weight for me
This site gives you an opportunity to document what you are eating, drinking and activity levels. Weigh in's are for your personal review. No humiliation here, just encouragement. I use it to document whatever I'm planning to eat/have eaten every morning and night. I can try out different recipes and develop custom foods so I don't get bored!
User friendly, encouraging in relation to the gaols you set - its very self driven, which is what I like.

Hmm, its ok, but could be better
I'm rather impartial to this, but having to have tried the demo version of the Calorie King PC application which apparently must use the Australian version and not the American one. It was relatively straight forward to install. However the learning curve in actually using it... well it was much longer than expected to get use to.
To be frank, the program looks at your own individual proportionality based upon calories, protein, fats and other consumable levels where it is controlled by the application. Making you as the user to choose heal...Read more
thy products for each of your allocated meals. I used this for about 3 to 6 months; I didn't lose much weight from it even though I had incorporated a full exercise regiment with bike riding and some extra track cardio in addition to hiring a personal trainer at the time that introduced me to this application and website. Full database listing of food listings; ability to control your food intake according to your diet Difficult learning curve; Australian version has no mobility for smart phones

I lost 20 kgs in one year when nothing else worked and now I use to maintain my weight. My doctor has looked at my food diary and analysis and has fine tuned it for me but basically has said he will now recommend this site to his patients. I could never lose weight no matter how hard I tried. CK taught me to eat well and to know what's in the food I eat.
The weight felt like it was falling off...and despite the fact that at the time I was losing it was in effect a diet, it actually is a program to help you to learn to eat the right foods...Read more
to stay healthy and in shape. The menu plans could be bit better they are really boring. But I think this is to teach you to pick your own foods. But if you live alone they are so hand as menu planners and shopping that I wish they would change them and make them more interesting. I wish they made and app for android and the menu plans can be a bit boring as they repeat over and over.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good Tracking & Website
Love the website information and the set up for your personal goals. I downloaded the iPhone App for it thinking that you would be able to use it in the same way as the website. Unfortunately while the iPhone app has a wealth of information in it, and love that it has all you could need calorie wise there is no way yo actually track in app what your consuming and total it. It would be amazing and 5 stars if the app had this capability!!!!!
The iPhone App doesnt mirror the website.

A great help with your diet, but not a diet in itself.
Use Calorie King software to monitor your intake of essential nutrients and calories, but not as a diet in itself.
I follow the Dukan Diet but use Calorie King software to ensure that my intake of protein, fats and carbohydrates is within reasonable limits.
It flags what I have done wrong if I am not losing weight (often too much sodium) and constantly reminds me to walk and drink water.
To learn to eat properly there is no substitute for Dukan, but Calorie King is the best tool you can buy to ensure that your diet is healthy as well a...Read more

This is simple, free and it works. There is a huge recipe base and tips on losing weight. A very effective site
It works. The key to losing weight is eating less, moving more. This site allows you to track what you eat simply and is free. It has the most comprehensive list of foods I have found online on a free site with their calorie count. What I love is it is Australian based so relevant to our products.
I wish their was an iphone app that would allow you to track on your iphone and link to your account on the site

A good, helpful online tool for monitoring weight loss and nutritional information - if only it were still available in Australia.
It is a great, free online resource. Good to monitor fats, carbohydrates, etc. and overall weight loss each week.
In recent weeks, the site has been unavailable to access. I wonder whether anyone knows the reason for this? Cheers and ciao!

I found the calorie king weightloss system really great. I lost around 10 kilos in 10 weeks and did it mostly by keeping to my allocated calories and moderate exercise. I didn't have to miss out on all the food I love, but instead ate less and cut back on fats. you do have to be dedicated because it does require that you weigh and measure food, but thats not too difficult. Best of all, its free if you use the website or around $15 if you buy the calorie counting book and food diary.

Firstly you have to commit to healthy eating, drinking and regular exercise. Secondly you have to realise that you alone are responsible for eating and exercising. The web pages may seem a little confusing at first but after a while you can save whole meals and favourite foods and even save your own custom foods not found on the extensive data base. I am drinking a lot more water that I used to and have drastically cut my alcohol intake. I am exercising more (just walking as it's free) and think calories when I eat and exercise. I have lost 5kg...Read more
s in three weeks since starting and realise if I want to be fit and healthy watching my diet and exercise is going to be a permanent feature of my life. I take meal replacement powders sometimes as part of the process. I recommend this site as a healthy way to lose weight without resorting to fad diets, and improve your attitude to food. Information/education on nutition and exercise. Daily diary - we have to be accountable and honest about our food and exercise. Absolutely free! Slowly trains your mind not to eat 'junk' food and be responsible about nutrition. Eat anything you like but it does have 'consequences' (more calories eaten less weight lost). Hard copy daily diary can be purchased for $4.95 at most newsagents. Computer based but you can get the software for a Palm Organizer for people on the go or when away from the home computer.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I use this site to keep a track of my food intake and my weight. I have a lot of weight to lose and find that keeping a record on the CK website helps to keep me more accountable for what I am doing to myself. I love that I can also enter in the exercise I have done each day. It tells me the fat and carb levels I have eaten and the level I should stay under for each. This site also has a forum area to ask questions of other members and get hints and tips.
allows you to enter weights, measurements, food intake, water intake, exercise AND its FREE!

I thought this would be a great alternative since I was on Weight Watchers and I thought the concept was the same - watching what you eat and counting calories instead of 'points' - and especially because it was free but I have not lost weight but steadily increased it. I don't know what it is, most probably my fault but there is not much incentive or encouragement to lose weight with CalorieKing compared to Weight Watchers.
Simple to use - log on, log in foods, log in exercise. You can see everything you have eaten and how many calories (and...Read more

I really think this is a great online resource. And best of all unlike the other weightloss sites and programes it doesnt charge you for using it. There are also some great forums, an opportunity to blog and loads of educational tools for weight loss information. I highly recommend this to anyone who lists health as a high priority.
Its free, easy to use and educates you about the total carbohydrates, protein, fat etc that you are consuming every day. It also helps you to plan things better and see exactly how much exercise is required in order to burn off the foods you consume
Sometimes there are products missing from the search which makes it hard when you are trying to tally everything correctly

This site is great for monitoring your overall health, and I use it for monitoring my weight, too. You can also check how many calories/kilojoules are in your food, you just type it in and it shows all the nutrition information. Calorie King makes losing weight and monitoring health so easily with a click of a button.
It's free! Who doesn't love a free program? It's simple to use. You can track your weight, exercise, calorific intake all easily online. It's great if you're trying to lose weight.
Annoying and hard to access if you're out all day!

The princples are excellent. Take accountability for what you eat and how you move and record the calories in and out, simple basic common sence weight managment at it's best. There is a 'how to loose weight' learning guids and a members forum for support. I somehow never connected on the forum, my fault (you have to first be a friend before you can expect to make a friend) and I founf it hard to relate to people with fictional names and became discouraged with the site. Calorie King has a great website that has information on the nutritional breakdown of most foods.
You can also enter your vital statistics and any foods that you don't want to eat and the site will then tailor a meal plan for you and tell you how many calories you can consume in a day. If you don't like the meal that it recommends, it gives you at least 20 other options. By entering the food that you've eaten for the day it will also add up all of your calories for you, let you know how many you have left for the day etc.

Very good for motivating the non-motivated. It actually works if you stick with it. Simple, basic, commonsense weightloss and family friendly too.
It gives you a visual idea of where to change habits and keep track of how much exercise you shoud be doing. Also has a huge database of everyday ordinary foods so you can compare the fat/sugar/calorie content of different brands without standing in the supermarket for hours reading labels. A nice range of recipes and the tools to make your own custom recipes. Makes you aware of portion sizes too. Good for people with special dietary needs such as diabetes.
Having to remember every morsel of food you put in your mouth throughout the day.

The website provides lots of information on everything you need to follow a calorie controlled diet. The food database is very comprehensive and contains many branded items. You really don't need to buy the little calorie king book anymore because it is all on the website and i think it is still free to join. I am not paying anything for my membership. Lots of support online, be it by joining in on the forums or joining in on online meetings to talk about matters.

I refuse to count food on anything. I only follow the menu in front of the calorie counter book. I believe counting food is an unhealthy obsession that only leads to neurotic behaviour around food.

My BMI is 30+ and I need to lose 50 lbs. Calorie King says that I need to consumer 2300 calories a day to lose weight. Sounds like a lot of calories to lose weight. Great if this is correct, but could it be a mistake?

Bit high. Are you male or female. That seems like a man's caloric intake. What about hight and age?
I am female and 5ft 11' and 63 years old.
It seems like a mistake. I wouldn't get all caught up in the details of mathematical calculations, just stick with the sample menu in the front of the calorie king booklet. Gives plenty of variety for menu planning and plenty of wiggle room. It's also something you can follow permanently.
