Great basic printer, copier, scanner

published

I have owned three of these printers over the years. The most recent two were bought on sale from the Good Guys for $15 each and both came with cord and printer ink! The first two lasted about 5 years each but eventually the paper grabbers (technical term) started playing up. I just installed my third one today. Easy. Prints, copies and scans really well. They have never jammed. Only fault I could find is that I could only scan one page at a time by laying it on the flatbed. But I wouldn't be surprised to learn that it can can do multiple pages - just need to read the instructions. I believe MG2560 discontinued now. Superceded by MG3060. Let's hope it is just as good.

Purchased for $15.

Got this on sale and am very happy with it

published

Have had this for a while now and have not had any major issues with it (like many printers I've had in the past!) If you have an issues just press the Stop button for about 10 seconds and it resets it.

Just bought this Canon MG2560

published

Have only just setup this MG2560 and it works a treat. Was given good instructions from the seller including the fact that it did not come with a USB cable but had one on hand. I noticed all the negative reviews and most were to the effect that it did not come with a USB cable - cant they read or don't they look at what they are buying. To get a printer for $50 is amazing when you consider it had to be designed, manufactured, sent on a container ship from wherever, sent to the wholesaler, retailer and everybody had to have a profit - all for 50 bucks - a round of beers cost more than that. Some people don,t know when theyre well off.
Great printer Canon keep the good work up.

Purchased in for $50.

Cheap and easy to use.

published

Purchased this off Joyce Mayne for over $20. Was informed it did not come with a USB cable which was no problem as I had quite a few at home.
Very easy to set up and the print quality was excellent. As previously stated here, the replacement cartridges are very expensive, so when my cartridges ran out I simply went back to Joyce Mayne and paid $20 for another Canon MG2560 which, again, came with cartridges.

Purchased in at Joyce Mayne for $22.

Excellent Budget Printer

published

I bought this model from Harvey Norman for $17- as well as a HP printer costing more. I didn't use the Cannon as I bought it as a spare($17). After using the HP for some time and becoming fed up with the quality of printing and the drivers always being faulty or missing (software), I decided to try the MG2560. The quality of color printing is exceptional, and I would suggest if you would like to find the most intricate color page you can find and print that page. Mine was missing a cable for which I had a spare so for me it wasn't an issue. Try printing a color page and you will be totally astonished at the quality. If you don't have a cable, trust me and go buy one, you have a little miracle waiting to come to life in your MG2560

Cheap

published

The print quality of this printer is good for its price.
One downside of this printer is that is has been priced many times as being cheaper to purchase than the ink itself so I have had 5 of these printers sitting to go in the council throw out, all because they were cheaper than the price of the ink, and If the Ink is not replaced within a certain amount of time of it running out, the print head dries up.

Very good printer!

published

I bought this Pixma 2560 from The Good Guys more than 10 days. Cost $28.00 (original price $33.00). Have used it many times to scan and print a number of documents and photos. No problem at all. Very happy with the results from one of the cheapest scan-copy-print machines on the market. Surprising to read some negative comments about this machine. I don't have problem with the connector as I can utilise one from my old Canon printer (which I bought 5 years ago for $20).

Best $17 I've ever spent

published

Purchased from Harvey Norman for only $17, which I was a little skeptical about. After reading the reviews I was my doubt was confirmed... that was until I bought a $5 cable from Kmart. Hooked it up to my Mac (took less than 5 minutes) and printed and scanned perfectly, and VERY quickly. Came with ink cartridges, replacements are only about $25 each anyway! Can't understand why there are so many bad reviews.. fantastic printer! VERY HAPPY UNI STUDENT!

$19! This all in one is amazing value and quality!

published

At Big W yesterday with my daughters and happened across this $19 all in one, including ink! We have printed multiple Xmas photos on 6x4 Canon photo paper and it's brilliant! While we were in Big W, as always the elders are complaining about "NO USB CABLE", they are frantic on their phones and calling everyone to ask if it's worth buying! Good God, this is a basic device that needs a USB cable (who doesn't have one of them laying around?) This thing prints, scans and copies for $19! My kids love it, I love it! What a beaut piece of kit!

John, the best trick is to return it to place of purchase as we did and buy another brand that works not like our Canon.
