Cannot fault, Brilliant underrated
I bought my SRT8 Core in May, and cannot wait to get up everyday to drive it. I've been a mechanic for 20 years so hopefully I know a thing or to about cars. The second gen 300s 2012 onwards are so much better than the first gen it's not funny. If your looking for a large sedan, put these on your list to test drive. As for the 6.4 Hemi, oh my goodness!!!
Stupid foot brake, turning circle

Harsh downshifts
Car developed harsh, jolting downshifts into lower gears at only 3000km's. Chrysler technicians at the dealership purchased from have no solution. Search on the internet reveals that dozen's of V6 8 speed Jeeps, Chryslers and Dodges (share the same Pentastar engine and ZF transmission) have developed similar issues. According to these forums, Chrysler is fobbing off owners by declaring the problem isn't a problem at all, but a "characteristic" of these vehicles.
If this is characteristic of these vehicles, why:

Great value for money!
I purchased a new Chrysler 300C (2013 model) and so far it has been excellent, much better than my previous Holdens.
This vehicle is great on fuel, it got us from Seymour where we filled up and all the way to Sydney (Riverstone) on a full tank!! We couldn't believe how fuel efficient it was, we were also using the air conditioning for most of the trip. The Chrysler is extremely comfortable, quality interior, quiet (no rattling), cool features such as the rear sunshade, push start ignition, usb/bluetooth, big display screen, premium Alpine soun...Read more
ds system and the cooled/heated seats and cup holders. It is a very smooth and stable drive, it glides around corners and handles very well in the wet weather. The only difficulty we've had is judging distance but otherwise it's a very solid family car. Insurance wasn't cheap but I guess it was to be expected. The 300c was expensive but good value for money, hopefully we will continue to enjoy it for a few more years to come. Cool features/gadgets, looks (beautiful car), ambient lighting, solid feel and fuel consumption. Large body (hard to slide into parking spots), middle seat is rather small, not much space in the back.

2008 Chrysler 300C - is a lemon. Has been nothing but trouble and money guzzler since day one. New tyres at 20,000k's, new spark plugs at 27,000 and again at 52,000 (not as listed in service guide at ... Read more
48,000 and 96,000). New rotors at 50,000. The list is endless, not to mention the time wasted to return vehicle to service centre every time something goes wrong. Would never recommend a Chrysler to anyone - in fact I am so dead set against them I tell everyone everything that has happened to mine. Is nearly 6 years old and only done 52,000 k's as it has spent most of its life in workshop and I am affraid to drive it as everytime I go somewhere something happens and I break down - very unrealiable.Similar opinion? Very Disappointed
After test driving and reading the rave reviews we were excited to order our Chrysler 300 SRT8 Core. The Hemi V8 was impressive (love the soundtrack) and the styling much improved on the previous model.
Unfortunately after only a few hundred kilometres our new car developed a fault that was unable to be fixed within a reasonable timeframe. We did receive two replacement vehicles only to find that they had been sitting in the weather for over six months since being delivered from the US (we suggest potential buyers check the build date) this ...Read more
meant the paint and chrome trim was marked and scratched. In addition, the interior quality was disappointing as the doors didn't align properly (causing a buffeting noise), the console had dents/flaws and some of the vents didn't move. Another couple of disappointing features we found are that you are unable to get a full size spare - meaning you are left with the tyre sealant kit (useless if your tyre comes off the alloy) and the LSD/Traction Control doesn't engage at slow speed (making it hard to get up steep driveways). Even thought this is well priced, after three disappointments sadly we had to let our passion for this car go. Hemi V8 Quality1 comment

300C Chrysler
The Chrysler 300 C petrol is very economical. It used only 13 L per 100km and I live in Sydney! Great fuel consumption! Diesel uses only 10L PER 100 km in the city. I tested it and both diesel and petrol are very fuel economical. I definitely recommend it to anyone.

Amazing
The Chrysler 300 C Luxury is the best car I have ever driven would recommend to anyone, it's much better than the Ford Falcon low model. Very fuel efficient. I used to own a 2005 model, it still works with 190,000 kms on it. Very easy to repair too. The inside is very luxurious. Would recommend it over the Kia Sportage and Hyundai Santa Fe. VERY GOOD CAR I LOVE IT

This guy's in love
We have 2013 300 C diesel and I can't get enough of it, looks brilliant in Tungsten grey, why didn't I buy another Flacon? Too small, too much, and too thirsty and it just blends in with the rest of them (boring), I know it's a Chrysler co's it's big, powerful, and fully loaded, the way Chryslers have always been. Compare it to a 1965 AP6 V8 regal or an 1982 SE 318 V8 regal you can see the similarity's, you can't do that with a Falcon V Falcon or Commodore V Kingswood. I was getting 5.9L / 100 on the freeway yesterday, with more torque than my 440 charger, Nuts!
43k on road brand new!!!

e drives it to work during the week, recently we had a holiday up to Hunter Valley NSW the 300 was so at home on the Hume Hwy as you would expect for large car, just over 1200klm for the 72lt tank !! and I wasn't grannie driving it, ok so bad points after almost two years, I thought the suspension would have soften up by now, but it is quite hard, the yanks have been coping it for years over softness so they may have gone a bit to far, feels much better with a full tank or passengers in the back, but, it does handle well for such a large heavy car so I guess its tit for tat, plastic marks easy so you have to be a bit carful, if you have kids watch out for shoe buckle damage to rear of front seats, and I had to buy rear door sill protectors, that's it still in love with this car, cheers James and LindaI just thought I would add, our 300 was involved in an accident, close to being a head on, my wife was able to turn at the last minute, unfortunate the one tonner on the wrong side of the road hit the... 2012 Chrysler 300C
I bought my new Chrysler 300 C in November last year and I have to say it is the best car I have ever driven and believe me I have owned many cars over the last 33 years. This is my first large car I have ever bought so I was a bit worried about fuel consumption with the 3.6 Pentastar petrol engine but I need not have because I get around 10 litres per 100 klm's which is great. The interior is pure class with the large touch screen controls and even heated and cooling cup holders!!! The ride quality is outstanding and corners nicely for a large car and the noise factor inside the cabin is practically zero. I live in the greater west in Sydney and it is a real head turner out here!!!
Looks, Driving pleasure, Fuel economy, Quietness.

New 2013 Chrysler 300 C Luxury
Just love it! It's a beautiful car in avery aspect inside and out. I test drove the Falcon G6E but there is no comparison. When my wife and I took it for a test drive it was all over for the Falcon. It's just a class above or two. The radar blind spot sensors came in handy 2 minutes after buying the car when a 'P plater' charged into the space I was moving in to.
It is so quiet, I have passengers ask if the engine is on! Everyone loves the blue back lit dash, the quality of the interior and the sheer presence of the car in the street. People s...Read more

Incredible Vehicle
Picked up a new CRD 2 months ago and cannot be more pleased. For such a large car we currently return 6.7 - 6.9 ltr/100k's and the driving experience is fantastic. I'm 6'3" and she's 5'2" and we both have a great driving position. Handles very well, great stereo, awesome Bi Xenon headlights, goes like stink etc etc etc and for not a lot of coin.
Foot brake is in a pain of a position, other than that, so glad we made this choice.
Incredibly economical, looks great IMO, sensational value.
Foot brake.

A good move
I purchased this car after 14 years in 4WDs wondering how I would settle to life at street level.
There is nothing lacking in this car. The ride, the equipment and finish are second to none.
The car looks and drives like it really should have a much larger price tag, try it for yourself, the big Chrysler will not disappoint.

Amazing Car - 2006 SRT8
I have owned my 300C SRT8 for over two years. I bought it used with 120,000k's. The car still drives like new! I now have 150,000+ k's on the clock. The interior has held up really well. It also looks virtually like new after 6 years. The plastics and leather are long lasting. The interior styling is elegant and feels like a luxury car should. For a 6.1 Litre V8 the fuel economy is amazing. I get 10.5 L/100km on the freeway. And around the outer suburbs where I live, I get between 15 and 16L/100km. I think this is good considering that my previ...Read more
ous 6cyl Avalon was getting 13.5l/100. I think the extra 3L per 100Km is easily justified considering the level of luxury and power that this car has. The car goes up steep hills like it was on a flat road. Other cars are easily left behind The thing to remember with these cars is that they are an import. A lot of money can be saved by buying parts directly from USA, and getting your local mechanic to install them. Chrysler Australia seems to charge a lot for parts which can be bought from overseas at around 1/3 to 1/4 the price you will get them from the dealer here. Eg. Local dealer wanted $800 to replace 16 spark plugs! - I bought the correct genuine mopar spark plugs from Amazon for $120 delivered! Another example is that the local dealer wanted $600 to install 20 new wheel nuts. You can get 20 aftermarket wheel nuts from ebay USA for $30 delivered!! Chrysler dealers in Australia charge $300 for a replacement remote key fob. I bought replacement rubber buttons from eBay for $15 delivered. I needed to also replace my sway bar links. $500 or so from Chrysler - $50 a pair from eBay + $80 installation at the local mechanic. No brainer! And yes, like another person said here, my transmission locking device broke. But, I checked the 300C forums and found the way to fix it myself - cost me $0 (luckily mine broke in my driveway). But FWIW - You can buy the entire Shifter assembly from USA for about $150 + shipping. Or modify the part before it breaks - It can be fixed by drilling a hole and inserting a split pin and re attaching the spring. Another thing is that the transmission needs "resetting" every 6 months because it starts to get a bit rough - But a "reset" makes it feel like new again (the dealers seem to do this for free - if you ask nicely).1 comment

Good Will - Lack there of!
My husband dream car has always been the 300c - it all came true for him 3 years ago when we purchased ours. He is one of those blokes that take immense care of his things, washes it weekly with only the best products, given me strict instruction on the places I am allowed to fill the car up if need be due to the quality of diesel, serviced on the dot if not close to it and driven sensibly. c report which showed the DPF did not automatically clean out at 100,000km (we are now on 120,000km) and advised us this is a fault within the car looking to be between $6k-$8k to fix! I rang Chrysler Head Office to get the ring around till a Manager spoke to me we were told to send to our local dealer who would be sent an email to open a "case" on the vehicle. We go down first thing in the morning, they know nothing about it few phone calls later and $121 to do there diagnostic report which showed the same as what we had told them and shown them from our mechanic. All the information was then sent to a regional manager who without talking to us immediately just said no we are then told that because it's out of warranty and we have had the car serviced through a non Chrysler mechanic (mind you our Mechanic does our local Chrysler work and offered way better service than what the dealers did) and they felt there was no need to offer any good will. Good Will?! How about standing behind your product! The car is only 5 years old, immaculate service history, fully detailed and will now cost us $6k-$8k to have road worthy!! I appreciates car's are expensive and this car has not been any different with services costing $700-$900 a pop but $6k-$8k at such a young age! Beware! The car looks good Faulty parts that after warranty wont be fixed2 comments

Good but not so good
I have owned a Chrysler 300c SRT8 for 4 years and over all it has been a reliable rewarding vehicle.
However some minor gremlins that popped up and as it is out of warranty its to bad:
1. There is a plastic latch that locks the shifter in P until the brake pedal is applied. where the spring mounts onto the plastic latch is a weak spot that breaks and leaves people stranded. There is an aluminum product available on the after market. I believe it is the same fault for a few other Chryslers built on the same platform.
2. bonnet struts failed w...Read more

Beautiful Luxury Car at a Genuine Bargain Price.
Mine is a 2010 3.5 Litre V6. Had it one year now and it has been absolutely faultless. I was told to stay away from the V6 as I was told that it had trouble carrying the weight. All I can say is that it leaves the lights like a slingshot and has quite scary overtaking response. It also delivery very good fuel economy on the highway of better than 11litres per 100 k's/ at 110km/h. It looks awesome, build quality is better than I hoped for (Built in Austria with Mercedes input), and people never stop admiring it and talking to me about the car. I...Read more

Just love it. The CRD just loves to be driven sedately. It is very distinctive but the driver never sees just how good it looks (unless he lets the missus drive it!). The beauty of it is that it is more economical to take on trips than most 4 cylinder cars - how ridiculous is that? Never been a gadget man, but the auto everything is great.

Good
This is for people looking to stand out from the crowd, I have driven the diesel and there is no compromise, plenty of low down torque gives great take off acceleration and overtaking speed, plus the benefit of good fuel economy. Low noise interior and little noise at highway speeds.
You can really pimp up this car, if you want, to really make a bold statement and they just look fantastic.
Mean looking car, different and standout styling in comparison to it's competitors, luxurious and smooth drive with plenty of reserve power.
Not the highest quality interior for a prestige vehicle.

Hi Cuz, I havn't heard of anything untoward with the diesel 300c's. It should prove to be a good car for you but beware that dealer servicing can be a bit rich. I would change the oil and filter every 5000 kms max, at a regular mechanics and maybe get every second service done at the dealers for computer updates/ diagnosis etc. This could save you $500 per year. Enjoy !
