Clairol Nice 'n Easy 118 Natural Medium Brown
- Nice 'n Easy · See All
I am very dissatisfied with the "New and Improved" formula for Nice n Easy. I have been a faithful customer of the Clairol Nice & Easy product for over 25 years. I used the 118 Medium Neutral Brown color and my hair turned out very natural looking with streaks of highlights built in. I used to get compliments from strangers on the street asking me which salon I went to. They could not believe I colored it myself at home with Clairol Nice & Easy. Now, the same shade comes out a flat dark brown with no shine. The beautiful highlights are gone, it...
Read more only covers half my gray and it washes out within a week or two. Please go back to your liquid formula with the highlights, it was perfect! I don't want to start looking for a new brand I just want your old product back.

I have used Clairol's Nice 'n' Easy medium brown every 3 to 4 weeks for at least a decade. I loved that there was a variation in color that looked like natural streaking. People always commented on my beautiful hair and couldn't believe I did it myself and my hair was always in such good condition. WELL...the New Improved has no color variation, the color is so much darker with the under hairs almost black, my hair is dull, dry and lifeless and the smell takes about a week to dissipate. It also is impossible to get off your skin and continues t...
Read moreo bleed onto my towels for at least 3 days after dying even though I triple wash my hair the day I dye it! AND I have to leave it on much longer to get my roots colored and that isn't even guaranteed; they tend to vary from application to application. I am so disappointed. I am looking for a different vendor now. I wish I could find the old product still. DO NOT BUY THIS NEW "IMPROVED" VERSION.

The new cream formula is terrible. I applied the colour the same way I have for the last 10 years. It took me half an hour to wash out the gunk / creamy masses from my hair, this was with 3 shampoos. My hair is usually left shiny and in great condition. After the new formula it has been left dry and brittle. The colour is also closer to black than medium brown. Not only would I advise everyone not to use it but if you own any shares or investments in this company I would sell them immediately as they will be worthless soon.

I have never written a review before but so glad I have found the other reviews .... the new 'so called' improved product is terrible. My hair is dull, lacking a natural look and shine and has left my hair lifeless and brittle. I will definitely search out another brand. I have now used the new product twice with the same result. Why was it changed?
Fire anyone responsible for the newer Nice n Easy formula!!!
One time was ok but after using the newer creamy formulation the 2nd time, my whole scalp has a horrible extremely itchy rash. It's been over 3 weeks and I've had no relief. I had to consult a dermatologist for help. The older liquid hair color was so mush easier to use. I used it for years and never had a problem, The newer creamy formula is much too think. Clairol, it makes no sense to fix something that isn't broken. You made a huge mistake and lost a lot of customers.

I have been using this product for years and never had a problem. After the last three or four uses I have noticed my hair is falling out in handfuls, my scalp is burning and itchy, especially at the nape of my neck, and the colour doesn’t last. My hair is lank and listless and feels dry and just plain horrible!!
I’m so disappointed! Now I have to start looking for another product, which is so frustrating at my age.

I have used 118 medium brown for years. All of a sudden there have been changes and the product doesn't do the job anymore. I am forced to change to another product.
I had used the old hair dye for years, since all ingredients have been changed - the colour is much darker and does not last as long.. Will no longer be buying nice n easy hair dyes .. Not sure why all products were changed if from reviews many customers were happy with the old product.

I have been using the Clairol Nice and Easy in no 5 for years, but the new no 5 is dreadful, shows no highlights, my hair is dull and the grey shows in one week. Please bring back the old formula.
I just colored my hair over the weekend and it is also itchy and I have some irritations around the edge as I have read others complain about. I have used it in the past and not had these issues, I will not be buying this product again.
Used 118 (5) very happily for 20 years until they changed the formula, I loved the tones and highlights it gave.
Vote with your feet ladies nutrisse 4.5 a worthy replacement.

Just want to make my grey hair less grey not fully brown will 20 minutes work
Hello;
I'm a guy with short hair, & have used the former style product by simply mixing equal capfuls of the components in a bowl. Five caps of each would usually help control the gray etc. This allowed me to get quite a few applications out of a box. Now that the product has switched to a tube of cream could I still come up with a way to equally measure portions in a similar way that I did?
Thanks,
R.D.
Even though it's not the recommended way of application as it can result in uneven colour,I suggest mixing 5 capfuls of developer with 2 teaspoons of the colour tube as the ratio should always be more colour than developer.
