I have been dealing with both the Hobart and Moonah stores, ever since moving back to Tasmania, 15 years ago. They offer one of the finance as well, and are fully ran by Coogans itself, and not one of the third party types, that Have so many hidden fees and charges. I bought a couch in a bit of a hurry on finance in mid 2015. Initially was glad to be buying locally and loved the colour and style. Unfortunately the devil is in the details. On finance we have paid double what the item is worth in the store (approx $6000 for a corner couch). I've been a customer since 2008. I pay always on time and pay off early so I don't pay as much in interest (the interest can be exorbitant).

I have both worked and been a SAHM and these guys are fair. I have a good credit rating and I've always treated them well so they have treated me well as a customer.

Anything you don't need is not financially smart to get on credit but I do, and have continued to do, each few years. As long as you make the payments and try to pay them off early it can be useful.

I bought an Electrolux vacuum cleaner from Coogans in the Moonah store in Hobart City, Tasmania.

I also bought a Toshiba Tablet as well.

Both items are faulty and stopped working within the month after purchasing them.

Coogans have refused to refund my purchases and say that I must run around for them to take my purchases to service centers to be repaired.

Although I have been advised by a Justice Officer in court that Coogans must refund my purchases, they are still refusing to do so and I have also been advised that they are breaking the law in their refusal to do so.
