Terrible piece of rubbish and no after sales service
I bought a Daytek single line retractable clothes line just over two years ago at Bunnings for use on rainy days or when the other line is full.
It has probably been used less than 20 times in total and within the first couple of months the line no longer retracted fully, i choose to live with it rather than take it off the wall and return to Bunnings.
About two months ago it stopped retracting and actually jammed so now, no in or out and a pile of cord on the ground.
I contacted Daytek via their website and after a few weeks of no response

Thank you for your prompt response, A picture of the clothes line in question was posted with the review.

Your company merely justifies your position (proof of purchase) and offers no real assistance to address the issue, and its the same in this case. who keeps a clothes line receipt for 2 years? really? Take a step back, read the reviews and your companies responses, Daytek are never at fault nor do they offer any real support, just excuses and justifications. I do not hold any hope of a positive outcome for the consumer, I never really did. I just wanted to confirm my suspicions from reading your companies responses before I throw away the faulty product and buy another brand Regards Jim2 line retractable clothesline

Daytek Replacement Clothesline CORD.
Purchaced the "Daytek Replacement Clothesline Cord" (60m x 3.5mm) from Bunnings in Jan 2022 and installed it on my rotary clothes line ensuring that each line was tight and secure.
This cord is absolutely garbage. The cord soon became loose and sags, even with minimal use. Don't waste your money on nylon core cords - they stretch. Rather consider a metal cable core.

Great design - Terrible Quality
I purchased the daytek 3-tier clothes airer after much research. It's a great design and allows for lots of clothes to dry, and lots of configurations for longer clothes or smaller items.
HOWEVER - the materials are very cheap. The metal racks bend very easily and break right off. As a clothes dryer it should allow for the weight of wet washing without breaking. Yet any slightly heavier items (small towels/jumpers etc) have bent and popped the end rods right out of the socket - after only a couple of months.
I have replaced these with wooden
Emma,
We are deeply sorry that the airer did not meet your expectations. In regard to it not holding much weight. We recommend that people spread out their washing loads across all the tiers and sides
Not Really Impressed
We bought our M58 Rotary Clothesline in June 2018 (last year) from Bunnings. Not long after some of the lines became loose and saggy and by May this year (2019) we had a line break, so not even 12 months old. Daytek customer service were good to send out a 60m pack replacement line which luckily they did as we have since needed to replace a couple of other lines. But today I had two lines break one after the other so I'm really not impressed. I've been washing and hanging out the same things for the last 20+ years on several different rotary washing lines and never had this happen. Really poor quality line which the company needs to reassess. The rotary part itself seems to be alright but not like others I've used before.

This situation sounds concerning as we have not experienced lines breaking like this. Are they breaking when the line is being folded up and down, or is it while the line is open and being used?
It's when the line is open we have no need to fold it up it just stays out. I've read other reviews with the same problem so I'm not the only one! I can see the inside of the line when it snaps, it's not strong at all.
99% of the time when the line snaps on a rotary clothesline it turns out to be tangled when people move it from the closed position to the open position. That is why I asked. If it is snapping while t

With poly wrapped nylon cord, it is not recommended to have it under too much tension. There is meant to be a small amount slack in the line as it lowers the stress on the whole unit in the case of high winds. It is not meant to be tightened as you would old steel core wire. If you would prefer to "upgrade" to steel core wire, most hardware stores stock some. There is a chance also, that you got defect in the cord, so of course we will cover it under warranty. For now, if you would like to get replacement poly cord, please call us on (03) 9470 1755 or email us at [email protected] and one of our reps will organise a replacement for you. I bought a Daytek Tower Airer from Bunnings because I though if I spent extra I would get a little more life out of it. What a disappointment . I should have been clued in when I read you could buy spare parts...I didn't realise I would need to almost immediately. The rods pop out of their sockets super easily and because they are so closely spaced it is difficult to put clothes on without a little pressure. When the pop out you need to slightly bend them to get them back in position and hopefully without leaving a kink, but then I find out

Can't take it back to Bunnings (receipt is MIA), so I'm stuck with this hunk of junk. Your design has some serious flaws that need to be looked at. The one rod that attaches to the frame poles cannot support the weight of the clothes when fully loaded. All of them have permanent kinks now and I'm afraid to bend it in the opposite direction because I am sure it will snapMarija,
We are very sorry to hear of your disappointment in our product. I will be sure to pass on your feedback to the design team. The aluminium rods certainly should not be popping out of the frame

6 Line Retractable Clothesline - ok but beware, it cannot be restrung.
We bought the outdoor 6 line retractable clothesline about 3 years ago, and had been happy up until now. The line has deteriorated significantly, and I expected to have to replace it about now. What I did not expect is that you cannot replace the line at all! There is no indication on the packaging about this, or instructions regarding care for the line. All their other products can be restrung and the cord is sold alongside this product.

This is very generous, though of course this is the one receipt I can't find, and I'm saddened by the waste of an otherwise good unit. I spent over $300 on this unit + mounting post - not a good investment so far. Had I realised that I could not replace the line, I would not have purchased it. I bought the M48 from Bunnings & it doesn't fit a queen sized sheet like it states without it being all bunched up. I'd say it is a good 30cm too short for the width of a queen sized sheet. Yesterday I hung some sheets up on it but later when I went out to bring them in the whole thing had folded up on itself & my washing was hanging on the ground. Upon some investigation I have found there are parts missing as well. No yellow slip ring as explained in the installation video. No lower wind brake & no pegs came with it like listed. It's actually a complete waste of money as I can't even use it now & will have to buy a new one And it's only been up about 3 weeks.

Do NOT buy a Daytek clothesline
Our clothesline is a few months old. Plastic insert holding 4 arms in position is already broken. Daytek send out replacement part which requires dissembling clothesline completely. I bought a retractable clothes line three years ago and it rusted. I didn’t have my receipt but I contacted customer services and within 25hrs I received an email with an offer to replace my clothes line.
Poor quality - wouldn't get another
The previous Hills Hoist was twenty-five years young and only replaced it because we were moving the line to a new location in the yard. Had this clothesline less than 12 months before all the lines became quite slack and needed tightening (NOTE - we didn't have to tighten the lines in the Hills Hoist for the entire time we owned it). Within a few days of tightening the lines, the middle line had stretched again so had another go - now a couple of weeks later, is so stretched it cannot be used. Also the plastic at the base has broken so must be of equally poor quality.

Daytek Hawthorn Green M58 Rotary Clothesline
Would not recommend this clothes line to anybody. Bought mine from Bunnings 9 months ago, and it has caused me nothing but trouble, with 5 lines currently broken. They break so easily, am very disappointed, as I use my line a lot, but the heavier the items hanging, the quicker the lines break. I would take it back if I had kept receipt, and box it came in but I didnt.

Tough,serviceable,easy to use
This is my second Daytek 70 litre barrow. I ran over the first one in my ute after five years of use. I fixed it and used it for another three years before giving it to to a family member. It saw plenty of use; stones, gravel, rubble, soil as well as for carting and mixing cement and mortar. For a light weight little unit it carried some serious 70-80 kg loads nimbly. The tubes and tyres are easily replaceable with basic tools. The original galvanising, unsurprisingly, wore off the tray surface eventually, but I just repainted it with a couple

I had a Hills clothesline that I have had for many years, but as the trees had grown creating shade I wanted it moved. Unfortunately once it was folded it refused to go back up so we had to buy a new one. We weren't able to find Hills hoists anywhere and Bunnings recommended Daytek. Customer service top class
I bought a Daytek rotary a couple of weekends ago. When I got home I realized that someone had opened the box in the store and nicked some of the bolts. I live a long way from the store I bought it from so I contacted Daytek through their facebook page. The marketing guy Curt really went above and beyond and sent me a new set of bolts along with some extra goodies. I cant believe the quality of customer service. It not often you find a company that has this good customer service. I guess that is what you get when you buy Australian. Thanks Daytek you saved me a 3 hours round trip.
Clothesline not holding up
My clothesline have not been holding up for sometime that I used a big stick to hold it up. Bunnings referred me to Daytek. I emailed and immediately received a response. Lauren was very helpful and sent Brendan to inspect the unit. Brendan was amazing; showed me how to properly lift the clothesline, and he changed the lines as well. He was spot on the appointment time too. Very happy!

Great product
I have owned a Hill’s two tiered clothes airer for many years, til the wheels virtually fell off from overuse !! . It was time to buy a new one, so I bought a Tower Clothes Airer from Bunnings. It’s every bit as good as Hills. Some on the market are flimsy, but this is strong and well balanced. Perfect for rainy days and those that are too hot to run to and from the clothesline. Retractable twin clothesline: three tries, all fails
This is our third attempt at this product, and as much as we love the look and concept of it, we've had nothing but trouble. Very disappointing as we've been really careful spooling the line out and not overstraining or overloading it, and retracting it back slowly. After a few uses, the lines won't retract, and as the unit is all one piece, it's impossible to get inside to figure out what the problem is. Thankfully, each was purchased at Bunnings and has been replaced - however, this time I think I'll have to ask for my money back.
