Consistently Inconsistent
This is a great idea, and the first time I used it it worked well. Since then I've had mixed results, sometimes the eggs overcook very quickly, other times they're really undercooked. I use the same method, same microwave, so I'm not really sure what's going on. Today for example, I poached 2 eggs in it for lunch, one egg was hard and overcooked, the other was only half cooked. Same container, cooked together at the same time, it doesn't really make sense! There are also quite a few parts which makes washing up a bit of a pain, though you can put it in the dishwasher. Overall I think trying to perfect poached eggs in a saucepan would yield better results!

Hopeless. More trouble than worth
Bacon ends up chewy. Makes terrible mess in the microwave so ends up more cleaning than just a frypan. Worst thing is that i bought 2. Another lemon thats going to recycle. Not happy decor. Not happy to be conned by prominent chef on ads. Obviously he didnt use it before he recommended it. Thumbs down on this one.

Just fantastic !
I thought i had mastered microwaving eggs but this container simplifies and perfects it ! I had to make egg and bacon sandwiches for 200 ! it was so dammed easy using the decor egg poacher - i actually don't fill it with the hot water even, just a little - and if you want them a certain consistency just remove them immediately so they don't continue to cook in the hot water container ! - LOVE IT - and buying them for presents - P.s lucky Nick who got it on special at Coles !!

It is so wonderful and easy to use that I., a mere male who never cooks, get amazing results.
What bunch of losers who cannot adjust the variables to get a perfect result. Pour boiling water in one opening until the three cups just float, Relace the fourth cup and crack in four eggs, then pour boiling water over a knife plade to avoid disturbing the eggs until the top line is reached, place on the cover and place in microwave. Mine is a 600 watt and I set it for two minutes. A perfect result - every time!!!!!!

Very good...
I am an Australian male Senior and bought the Decor Egg Poacher at Coles on special yesterday and tested it for lunch just now with two eggs. The process was easy and the result perfect. I cannot comprehend what went wrong with so many reviewers. Tonight I'll surprise our son and wife with linguine as per eclipse leaflet as I also bought the bacon cooker, I hope that works too.

Works every time!
Can't understand why so many bad reviews. Looked up product expecting everyone to be positively amazed at the results. It seems not. I have used this product for the last month in 3 different microwaves, and had exceptional results every time. Easy cooking, easy clean up. Excellent eating. First time I have reviewed anything, but felt I had to put a positive response in here. I have had none of the negative things spoken about happen during its use.

Terrible product!
This simply doesn't work. I cooked two eggs for 1 min 30 sec and they were hardly warm. The whites had only partly cooked and the yokes were raw. I am returning this product. I am surprised that Decor allowed this item to find it's way to supermarket shelves. I don't think it could have been properly tested by the manufacturer!

This product is not fit for purpose
This product should be withdrawn and anyone who bought it should be given a refund. It does not do what is claims. If it made poached eggs that were better than other methods then it may be worth the additional time and cleaning. It delivers eggs that are not worth eating when the directions are followed. A total fail and ripoff.

Great way to waste a lot of eggs
My wife eagerly purchased this product from Coles and we decided to give it a go. First time we followed the instructions but used only two eggs, the whites were runny and the yolk was not even....read instructions again and the same thing happened. Third time we tried the eggs were not even cooked so put in microwave again for 20 secs and the turned out ok. But we had to experiment and was not getting consistency. Just as easy and time saving to get out a pot. Not recommended.

Decor egg poacher
I total agree with all of the negative comments about this product.
This would have to be the worst cooking aid I have ever purchased and used.
Followed the instructions to the letter.
The eggs had overcooked yokes with under cooked whites terrible.
Maybe the power rating of the microwave has a effect on the results, if it does the cooking instructions need to be refined.
First thing in the morning it's going back to the shop, and we will revert to our old saucepan style poacher, at least we can see what is happening to the eggs.
Sorry Decor this is a crap product and should be withdrawn from the market.

Shame decor!!!
i just paid $14.95 for this piece of crap, shame on you decor, shame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! eggs watery and when you drain the water off, the eggs are under cooked, and most of the egg white is so degraded, it just pours out with the water....... We should get a refund for this, just a useless item in the kitchen now......

Both the egg poacher and bacon cooker terrible.
Both of these products are absolutely useless. They don't do what they are advertised to do even when following the exact instructions. Bacon comes out soft and watery no matter how you do it and the eggs just get drowned. I tried hard with them for the whole morning and wasted 8 eggs and all my bacon. Then threw both off items in the bin. Terrible.

Runny eggs
Like the other reviews eggs are undercooked and if you increase the time the egg is hard or explodes.I have also tried different settings on the microwave. Waste of money. Worst decor product ever. I like runny eggs but I like the whites white not raw. Just gross they should remove the product.

Forget it
Disappointing, to say the least. Following the directions makes no difference. I wasted over a dozen eggs trying to get the timing right, but to no avail: a failure at every attempt. If you like watery, unset whites and hard-boiled yolks, this is the product for you. Otherwise, stick to traditional poaching methods.

Exploding egg
Purchased this yesterday and tried for first time this morning. I had been waiting since it came on the market to purchase it and waited till it was on special because I thought the regular price was too high. I was only cooking 1 egg and followed the instructions to the letter. My microwave is 1100 watts so I set the timer for 1 min 15 sec. I wanted a soft egg. At the 1 minute mark the egg exploded, and when I took it out the white was splattered all over and the yolk was runny for a small section in the middle but the rest was hard. I think I'll go back to my old cooking methods. Not impressed.

A Simple Job Made Complicated
This cooking aid is for poaching up to 4 eggs in a microwave oven. It was on special at Coles purportedly for 1/2 price at $7.50. It's a typical Decor Microsafe red plastic product.
You need to fill it's base with boiling water, oil the egg cups, add the cracked eggs and then top up the cups with more boiling water (eg from a kettle).
It then all goes in the microwave for 1 min 20 secs (for a soft centre), it is then left for another minute after which you can retrieve the poached eggs.
My problem is that it's made a simple job more compl...Read more

Hi All.
These cooking instructions are just a guide line. As a lot of others have stated egg size plays a part in the timing. I followed instructions to a T and my first ones were a bit too firm for my liking so next time I will just take 10 seconds off and so on. You can still eat your first attempt, it’s still an egg and I don’t see what all the fuss is about the product. It’s like everything else in life, you learn the more you do it.

Used Decor egg poacher and bacon grill first time last night - dismal failure. BUT, instruction only given for 1000w microwave. My microwave is 1500w. Does anyone know how to adjust cooking time without wasting countless eggs/bacon experimenting. Faye

Hi, my microwave is 1200w so found I adjusted 10 secs off cooking time and left them to rest longer before opening lid. Maybe size of egg may be a factor also.
Good luck.
