Excellent little Laptop which could have been so much better
I bought this laptop to replace my sony touch screen laptop which I hated. I bought it directly from Dell Australia through their Ebay store when they had 20% off sale. Its a cute little laptop which performs like a beast. Its a 13.3 inch screen laptop but with a form factor of 11 inch. The screen is amazing with very thin bezels. Dell calls it infinity screen. Tactile keyboard is great with backlight. Its made from premium materials of magnesium alloy and carbon fibre, so it looks beautiful. Audio could have been better i guess. Apart from that Its excellent. Happy with the purchase.

Good but speaker issues
Dell saved my life by making me mobile. When I purchased it, the review of overheating were a worry. But a bios upgrade resolved this. Only real problem is speaker becomes crackey every few weeks. Suggest its a driver issue but so far no solution. Other than than, battery quite good - generally 4 - 6 hours, screen is crisp and clear - anti glare would have been good though. Would I buy another? Yes - I did - have 2.

Very beautiful screen, but poor trackpad has left me disappointed
There is no doubt this is a beautiful, premium laptop. But I am disappointed to say I have returned to my 2013 Macbook Air and barely touch the technically superior Dell XPS 13. Here's the reasons why:
* poor trackpad. This is the single biggest issue with this machine. I'm used to the smooth experience of Macbook trackpads, but the Dell is jumpy and inconsistent. It is an absolute pain to use to navigate.
* avereage keyboard. It's not bad, but not great either. I find the Macbook Air to be superior to type on.
* battery life issues...Read more

Amazing
Great laptop got during dell's 2015 model clearance during 2016 may.I purchased this for my brother and he said that. Overall the product has been great and has loved it more than my MacBook. He loves it and wished he got the in built touch screen. I have also casually used it myself and the experience has been well worth and I would highly recommend this product as it is well while buying this over some other high-end ultra books.

Broke down twice after one year. Horrible customer service. Stay away from Dell Australia.
Extremely disappointed customer. The motherboard failed twice during my one and a half year of light usage.
Appears to be a manufacture defects as the service centre could not repair the laptop. The video below was filmed right after I received the laptop from the service centre.
Save yourself time and headache and skip this machine. Check out the video below.

Beautiful screen, solid feel, decent battery.
Overall very happy with this unit. Back-lit keyboard has a nice feel, love the touchscreen & performance is great for the $$. Every now & then I need to do hard shutdown as the normal Windows 10 option doesn't work - not sure if this is the machine or OS.

Good unit - But WiFi problems exist
I've got the I5 version (early 2015 so running 5th Gen processor not Skylake)
Ok so whats to like:
1> Battery life - in a word brilliant
2> Keyboard - It's great nice to type on and backlit so great in all conditions
3> screen - I went for the non touch matt 1900x1080 and don't regret it for a moment
4> Graphics - Actually rather impressed - I don't really have that much time these days for games but my older tittles like Crysis & Modern warfare 3 all play fine at full definition - not bad for integrated system.
5> Size - This is a grea...Read more

Do Yourself a Favour and Search the Net for Dell XPS13 WiFi Performance Issues
A truly inexcusable piece of junk. Never worked out of the box. Hopeless WiFi unusable unless sitting right next to a router and even then it fades in and out. A quick google search will show this is not an isolated case. Clearly dell has a design issue as they replaced every component, software resets, drivers by the thousand, fresh OS install. Nothing works. Even in the severely low performance mode the drivers self disappear and constantly lose bluetooth, wifi requiring long sessions on prosupport to reinstall them. Dell will deny knowing anything about it but they obviously know because once I advised them I had found history and was taking them to the consumer protection people they offered a refund. Stay away from this lottery...

Small, Powerful, Stylish, Great Screen and Great battery Life.
I was hesitant to buy a laptop that I could not test, or at least inspect in store, so the decision to purchase took some time. Reading some professional reviews I was feeling confident about the laptop however, the reviewers all seemed to say almost exactly the same things more like quoting the specification rather than doing an actual review based on usage. So anyway I bit the bullet and bought the HD version without the touchscreen XHD version (which I would have liked but I did not want to compromise on battery life, also there were some qu...Read more
estions on scaling and Windows on such a high resolution). The laptop has been great since it arrived everything is as it should be the only flaws are as mentioned by the reviewers i.e. Webcam in an unusual and unflattering position (due to the wonderfully thin bezel), a lack of ports (due to the small size of the overall unit). These flaws are small in the scheme of things if you are happy with a great form factor, Powerful processor i5 (the fan hardly comes on) great finish inside and out (Aluminum and Carbon Fiber ?), Small screen Bezel (great to look at for hours), and very respectable battery life. Dell have done a great job on this machine.Purchased in July 2021 at Dell Australia.

2015 Version, i5 Non-Touh 8GB Ram, 256 KB - LOVE IT!
I wanted a laptop I could just put in a large handbag and take with me anywhere. I have some websites and blogs, so I wanted to have the ability to be able to write whenever I have an idea. I was originally going to buy a Macbook Air 11 inch but then I waited for the new Macbook to come out. However, with the combination of Apples prices rising in Australia and the new Macbook using an M Processor and being less powerful, I was unsure what to do. Then I also read that the Macbook Air 11 with the same specs as the 13" was less powerful and I ...Read more
was unsure if 11"was going to be too small a screen size to work on all the time. Then I heard of the Dell XPS 13 and how it fits an 13" screen into a 11" frame due to a very small bezel. In Australia Dell offers 3 versions of the XPS 13 (2015 version). I purchased the middle option. The highest end version comes with a QHD touch screen which is very high resolution. The reason I chose not to get the higher end version was that the non-touch FHD screen version has a much longer battery life as the QHD screen takes more power. The FHD screen is also matte, whereas the touch screen is more reflective. I wanted to be able to work outside so I find a matte screen is better for this purpose. Although touch screen ability would have been great, I had to choose between longer battery + matte screen (to work outside) vs touch and the battery and screen won for my needs. I find this laptop super fast to boot up and very fast to use for my needs. The keys are smaller than my old 14" Levono but after a few days I dont notice any more. I love the back-lit keyboard that goes into sleep mode when not activated. Due to my heavy online research I have an excessive amount of web pages open at any one time and I open and close them very quickly. This has caused previous laptops to freeze but I have never had this problem with this laptop. Some people have stated they dont like the track pad but I have had not issues with it and find it easy. I do not use a mouse. The build feels like good quality. It is super light and thin. It doesnt have some things like a DVD drive, but that is what makes it so light and I never use one anyway. It does have an SD card slot. If you are after portability and power for under $2000 I would highly recommend this laptop.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
