Having unboxed the kettle from Goodguys, and topped up water for first time, the plastic water level tube is opaque and my elderly parents want to know idiot would make it like that. :)
Fair comment from people who have seen a few kettles come and go over 85 years. I think this one is going to go because of that annoying issue...

we have had the Delonghi Icona in red for 10+ years and it has been faultless - it's a handsome looking kettle and often visitors often make enquiries - we always recommend it highly and advise that they can buy with confidence. We're are purchasing exactly the same model now

Not happy, product just over 12 months old - expensive. Obviously high price does not equal quality. The on and off switch does not work. Tried to call someone- no contact numbers - all on line. All I want is a replacement or a person to talk to but it seems no one will take responsibility for an item that is clearly faulty.

I love my kettle as it looks Amazing in my kitchen with my matching toaster. I use my kettle everyday to make tea, my children lunches for school it is very easy to use. I recommend everyone to buy this kettle if you love the vintage look! I picked a black colour one to match my kitchen theme.
Thanks Delonghi,
Shirley Marjanovic

The kettle no longer boils water properly & will not boil again for sometime until after it cools down. Can anyone tell me when it was manufactured as I was told I purchased it in 2013 which I feel is not correct. I did purchase extra warranty however this was after another brand of kettle started to leak and was returned to supplier.

The element in the kettle burnt out after 18 months of light use, being turned on a couple of times a day. Delonghi don't care either, hard to recommend a product when the company that makes them don't stand behind their product. Go buy a sunbeam instead still working after 8 years and cost a whole lot less then this piece of junk.
December 21st 2017 Update: Element died after 14 months of use
Used a couple of times a day, the kettle only lasted for 14 months before the element went in it. For a kettle that costs $100 the quality of the k...
Read moreettle was questionable. The retailer I bought it from no longer exists and DeLonghi weren't interested in it. Have replaced with a similarly priced sunbeam kettle, hopefully this one lasts a but longer.- Date Purchased

I purchased the kettle in March 2017 from Harvey Norman and used it more than once every day. Within 4 months, the kettle has rusted inside and outside. When contacted the manufacturer under the warranty, I was given the run around - to take to an agent who will forward the product to the Delonghi and wait for their decision. You have to live without a kettle during that time. What a terrible product and what a terrible service. Please don't buy this product. I will not buy any of their product in my life time.

We purchased 20 Icona kettles for our boutique hotel. We were initially concerned about this specific model after reading some bad reviews about the product, but our retailer gave us a written assurance that we would be covered if anything went wrong, so we went ahead and invested in 20 of them because the look really suited our room design and colour scheme. We have had these kettles in the hotel rooms for over two years now and not had any problems with any of them. I am aware some people think their kettle is rusting on the inside. We though...
Read moret we had that problem with our last kettle model until we realized that it was a brown discoloration of the stainless steel caused by people boiling the kettle with very little water in it. The stainless steel overheats and turns rusty brown. Our housekeepers now ensure that all the kettles have at least three cups of water in them each day and so we have not had any problems with discoloration of the stainless steel with the Icona kettle. None of them are showing any paint peeling either, so I am am not sure why one of the other reviewers experienced that. After two years of extensive use by many people, all of our kettles still look good and we get quite a few positive comments about their attractive design.- Date Purchased

The kettle works fine, but the paint is peeling and the the plastic top of the lid is cracked soon after purchase. There is scale on outside of the kettle, but we don't know how to remove it without removing the paint with it. Doesn't look good any more. Expensive kettle, but the quality is disappointing.

Yes - looks great. Functional too.
Lid is a little stiff to get off.
Sad part was when it stopped working at 13 months. DeLonghi have agreed to replace it... after some phone calls. Not sure we will buy any more DeLonghi stuff; did not expect it to fail so soon.

seems all good, but takes forever to boil! Takes 5:48 to boil. Unsure if this is the norm for all kettles? This is when it is full, will be timing when it is not full as that seems to take the same amount of time too. Will update review when I have timed it from not full.

Bought the kettle and toaster from Harvey Norman. I really couldn't afford it but thought if it was expensive it had to be good. Very cheap bits on it. Now it has decided to heat up to a certain point (not boiling). Now I have to throw out over $100. Not impressed. I thought it was a trusted brand, never again.

Bought this Kettle along with the Toaster in Black to match - Looks terrific in the kitchen but I do think it's an expensive kettle for just looking good. As previous reviewers have stated it is loud, something I noticed straight away after my last kettle. (still working and put away, I just wanted matching kiitchen items) I'm used to the noise now. Not really much more to say, expensive, it boils water and it looks good. Hopefully I will get the time out of it to make it worth the money I spent.

Love this kettle - has had a lot of use especially when baby needed bottles made all the time and things needed to be reheated.
Easy to clean inside, wipes down a treat outside and looks great - stylish but not a "trend" or "fad" look in my opinion. I got mine in black gloss, but the colour range I saw was incredible. I regret not buying another colour for something different.
Bought it with the matching toaster, look great together.
It is a tiny bit noisier than other kettles, but that doesnt bother me much, it is barely noticeable.
Flybuys purchase. Not what I hoped for, very tinny, unstable on the base, hard to fill via the spout and the lid is not easy to remove. the would not purchase again if I have to replace it. I think they are specifically made for flybuys as other models seem better quality.

Bought the matching kettle and toaster thinking costs more but great brand. Will last!
Unfortunately it rusted near the element and became noisy when boiling within 2 months, sent the info to De Longhi who recommended a return to store.Returned it and swiftly got a new one.
Excited went home and boiled the kettle, whisper quiet and thinking we had a one off misfortune, a lemon so to speak.
This kettle slowly got noisier after 4 weeks and Bingo rusting again.....so frustrated as its not going to last.If I take it back and get something else it...

I really liked the look of this kettle; quite stylish for the kitchen and the same colour as our food processor. (The DeLonghi Sherbet kettle matched the Breville Sherbet Food Whizz better than the new Breville Sherbet kettle we have!)
No complaints really except that it started rusting just inside the lid and on the kettle where it made contact with the lid within 2-3 weeks. I started cleaning it away with the intention of just living with it, but really, it wasn't good enough. We replaced it with a Smart Kettle and the one thing I miss is the freedom to boil a smaller amount of water; the Smart Kettle has a minimum of 500mL. Pity. The look was awesome.
