Not good.
Very loud, not cooling efficiently.I had a old Dimplex which still works today. I put it back in lounge room, as it cooled the rooms a lot faster and quieter.it's nearly 20years old. Would not part with it now. It is smaller in size, with it swinging vents back and forward.

Good quality, noisy but better than a fan
Cooling performance is good directly in front of the machine. The uni works continuously to maintain the set temperature in the room, so is not incredibly efficient compared to a fixed unit (to be expected). Fairly noisy, easily blocked out with earplugs, however the noise is not painful like some appliances. Unit is unobtrusive, the ability to reverse the ducts for heating in winter makes it very useful. Tested in a 15 m2 bedroom. Hose for window is fairly short (but normal for a portable air conditioner, so take that into account when deciding where to put it.

Great little room cooler
I bought this ac for my lounge room in my new apartment and found it worked particularly well. Was initially concerned with how difficult it would be to install, however set up was relatively easy - only took a couple of minutes. Can see how it can be a little noisy on high fan speed for a bedroom, but seems more than reasonable on low-medium fan speed. Happy with it!

Works perfectly in a small room
I bought this air conditioner to be placed in a my study room to cool down during hot summer days. The instructions are quick to understand which makes this model very easy to use. On top of that this unit is so portable so I can move it between my study room into my living room without much effort.

Keeps bedroom cool and reasonably quiet
Looks stylish and easy to use. Sits easily in corner of bedroom by window. Reasonably quiet and keeps our bedroom cool. Have used this almost every night through the summer months and does the job of keeping our room cool. Happy with its performance and its price. Does the job well.

Great room cooler
I needed an air conditioner that would keep my room cool in summer. This air conditioner does the job realy well. Its easy to use, easy control and easy to locate where you want it. Installation was a bit tricky but not too difficult. its not what I'd call a super quiet machine, espcially on the highest setting, but the trade off of the level of noise versus the heat reduction in the room is worth it. It easily maintains an ambient temperature of 22C in my room even when its blistering hot outside

Better than expected
I put off purchasing a portable aircon because most reviews suggested that they did not work. Finally went ahead and got myself the DC15RCBW 4.4kW. Working it in a room at the upper end of recommended space it performed really well over a hot summer. Must insulate exhaust hose and seal room. Sure it is inefficient and eats up power, but so worth it. I tended to run it on weekend afternoons and it was so great to have some coolness. Lowered ambient temp by about 4-5C, but even better when sitting a few feet in front of grill. Just the thing for renters like me. Seems like this model has been discontinued, so hopefully a new model maintains or improves on performance.

Scary experience.
I was disappointed from the start. It barely made any difference in cooling a small bedroom and the noise was unbelievable. My daughter found it difficult to sleep because it was that loud and ineffective. Then after a month our safety switch kept tripping. My husband checked the unit and the outside was very hot to touch. When he turned it over to examine it he discovered a hole melted right through the base. We were so lucky to have discovered that in time before anything more serious like a fire started. Appliances Online were fantastic in ...Read more
their quick response. They sent a truck to collect it the very next day and we received a full refund without hesitation. Some other reviewers seem to have found the product worked well so maybe we were just unlucky.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good but noisy
I am pleased with my unit. However it is louder than I expected. With the white exhaust pipe I found quite a bit of heat came from it also some odor (probably just the newness of it)it is quite portable and easy to install. I will just need to work out a way to cover the exhaust hose so as to limit the heat coming off.

Thank you for taking the time to offer a review on our product. We very much appreciated your feedback!
However the unit does work very well with the air-conditioner set at 24, when it's very hot some things you overlook

Excellent
I am very pleased with this purchase. It kept my room cool on our hottest day here of 46.7C. The unit is easy to move and the window kits works with my window frame.
This unit is quieter than my previous unit which lasted about 10 years.
The vents are easy to clean. When I needed to drain the unit it was a simple process as the plug is on the side and not under the unit.
So far I've only used the air con and fan settings on this unit but I have no doubt the heat and dehumidifier will also work as well.

Not perfect but does a job particularly in a rental property.
It is too noisy to sleep with running but cools a medium size bedroom down in 30 to 60 mins depending on temperature. It requires a window outlet to fitted into window which can be fiddly initially. remote control is great. Also it has a water drain near wheel that can be bumped that will let excess water out which may need occasional draining.

A bit disappointed
Installation was more involved when using a sliding door. The heat coming from vent pipe before it reaches outside (including an inefficient seal with the unit that leaks hot air no matter how much care in fitting) certainly reduces efficiency. I must admit that the cooling effectiveness does disappoint me. Also the short cord, and requirement not to use an extension lead, makes the unit less portable. It does cool to some extent but at temperature setting of 23 the compressor works continuously. Dread my next power bill! The main plus is that it can be uninstalled and moved if necessary.

Would not recommend
Had the unit for 12 days, says it's rated to 42 degrees, my room temperature was 35 and the compressor overheated and cut out. Turned it off, let it cool down for an hour, turned back on and same thing. Basically became a radiant heater. Also very noisy! The 3 fan speeds have no effect on the noise either. Will be returning it today and getting my $600 back.

Solved my cooling problems within budget.
Unit does what the manufacturer says it will do. Easy installation though window kit needs some redesigning and sealing up larger sliding window required unattractive patchwork. Unit is a little noisy but it is machine after all. Ear plugs an easy solution. Cools down small room quickly affording much improved comfort. TV remote switches unit off and on when adjusting volume so position away from other electronics. Overall pleased. You get what you pay for.

not to bad i guess
We bought a house around 12 months ago that has no cooling or insulation, so they 40 degree heatwaves are terrible. We bought this unit on special and it does take the bedroom to a resemble coolness (its a resemble sized room). We also have one for daughters room which is tiny and i think it great for a tiny room. The heating function is a bit weird though. These being the only portables we have ever used im not to sure how many others cooler to a higher temp than what they heat...the max temp to cool to is 30 degrees and the max temp you can h...Read more
eat to is 25 degrees. Seems a bit stupid really haha. The one massive bonus of this unit is the very small difference it made to our power bills. Maybe only a couple bucks a month when being left on nearly all day and night for around 3 weeks, during a heatwave. There was no point starting it anywhere after mid morning or it wont cool the rooms down. Not a bad unit overall, but had i paid full price for them i would be a bit disappointed. Havent had much of an issue with the noise it makes, even daughter falls asleep with it going on isnt bothered.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Barely works, broke down after 2 weeks.
The unit was hopelessly ineffective for the room it was in (no bigger than was recommended for the unit). Loud as hell and it broke down after just 2 weeks occasional use.
I cannot recommend this unit at all.

Cool but very loud
This little air conditioner will cool a bedroom sized room but to keep it cool needs to be switched on all the time. This is a bit of an issue because it is very loud and it is difficult to sleep through. There is also this bright light from the control panel, which doesn't seem much in the daylight, but you'll need to block it off at night if you like to sleep in a dark room. I was pretty disappointed and wish I had spent the extra few hundred for a split system. It does work though, even in very hot weather.

Very Efficient
I recently purchased the Dimplex DC10RC and have found it to be very good at cooling my small room.
The only drawback is that the fan tends to blow cool air at high velocity for long periods in very hot conditions and at times I wish I could have a slower fan setting especially in my very compact small room.

Noisy!
I bought this unit & whilst it might work well, I couldn't stand the racket it made and turned it off after 20 minutes. It was like trying to sleep with a truck in the room. Other posters have mentioned the noise was bearable, am I missing something?

After reading the manual book, I still don't understand how to use the heater on DC15RCBW.
If I have to attach a drain hose then the hose should have been included.

Half way through second Summer with Dimplex aircon. Cost a bit to run, but a real life saver during hot afternoons.
