The look of a fireplace with the safety of an electric appliance
Fantastic looking unit, love the cool touch matt finish and openable doors. Design complements both modern and traditional home decor. Realistic coal and flame effect which is gorgeous to look at when snuggled on the lounge.
Two heat settings with the option of flame effect only is a handy feature that I use frequently.
I often use this to just heat the lounge rather than run my ducted heating. Takes a little while to heat the room but maintains a comfortable temperature well.
Well made, well packed. I loved it so much I bought one for my brother the next day!

Looks amazing and works fairly well too
I leave the flame effect on permanently, it looks so realistic. The heater works okay too especially if I sit nearby. Takes a couple of hours on high setting (2000W) to fully warm my living space, then I switch it to low setting (1000W) to keep the place comfortable. I've only had it a week so can't comment on it's durability or longevity. I was concerned about fan noise after reading other reviews but it seems reasonably quiet to me. I give it 5 stars for looks and 3 stars for heating ability, hence 4 stars overall.
Purchased in May 2021 at RetraVision for A$278.00.

Dont buyMelbourne
No instruction on wrong switch failure
Turn on accidentally the 2kw output switch no two & a burning smell noted then i switch off power supply.
Switches on lower right side so not so visible.
After resting overnight the heater works aa per instruction trip to thermal overload.
Need to caution users to not on the 2000 w switch( 2 nd one) as will cause a thermal overload.

Has the looks
Great for heating a small space but is essentially a hairdryer with a big box around it. We found it to be noisy but the flame effect kept the kids mesmerized whilst staying safe. We liked the feature of keeping the flames on without using heat. Haven't noticed a big spike in the power bill but as I said it was only used to heat a small area.

Looks can be deceptive ...
Central ducted air conditioning is very expensive to run; well ... mine sure is! With this in mind, and being one who doesn't feel the cold (although where I live in coastal NSW, we don't really have winters), I opted to buy an electric heather which is portable, provides decent heating, and looks comforting and warm at the same time. I love the look of the 'Tango' - it has the appearance of an old fashioned 1800s cast iron wood heater, but is in reality a modern, electric fan heater. It is very solidly constructed and quite heavy; it can be ...Read more
moved around reasonably easily, and would be difficult to knock over due to its weight. I have been very impressed with its performance; it has 3 settings - fan only, and two heat settings. For a smallish heater, it pumps out a very impressive amount of warm air on setting #2 - my townhouse is 3 storeys open plan, and the living area cannot be closed off. It takes a while, but the 'Tango' doesn't just heat the living area; warm air eventually finds its way to the upper floor too! Pretty impressive for a little guy with only a 2kW rating! I love its appearance too - flames and 'hot coals' look real, and it took me a while to get my head around the fact that I really can open the doors and stick my hand in the 'firebox' without serious burns!!! Useful, practical, excellent value and 'novel' - I highly recommend the 'Tango' - it's a great little 'faux firebox'. As with all Dimplex products it is well made and the quality can be 'felt'. I'm so pleased with my 'Tango' that I'm considering buying a 'Mini Cube' model for my bedroom. Well done, Dimplex.1 comment
