The motor is extremely loud and there is no suction. I’m not sure why as I cleaned the filter. 1 minute it’s working and now it isn’t. It’s only 1 year old but I can’t find receipt
I would dismantle the whole handpiece part and brush bottom part according to the online instructions & follow it to the letter. I have found certain things like small pine tree needles get caught up in the system & aren't immediatly visible so really search for a blockage in the system. Beyond that search your bankcard statement for a date of purchase & contact shop. They will certainly be able to trace it to you!
What is the function of the wire piece on the underside of the cleaning head on the ergorapido
Hi. If you are looking underneath I"m guessing it's the large staple shaped wire you're asking about. If you release it you can take out the brush roller & give it a good clean. There is also the "step on" button that cuts all the threads & hair that's caught on the brush. The manual is excellent once you've looked closely at it. https://resource.electrolux.com.au/Public/File/?Id=44558
I've had my rapido for a few years and have never used the thread cutter!! Had forgotten that it was there!! Thanks for the reminder!
Thank you
My Electrolux Ergorapido suddenly wont suck up the bits on carpet. It works if I use it as a hand vac but as soon as I connect it back into main piece seems to be no suction and it just flicks the bits but doesnt suck them up.
That's weird! Sounds like a question for the manufacturer!
Yep, after 3 months I have exactly the same problem as Brenda. I just put a spoon through the cleaning head and released the build up of dust that was covering the vacuum portal. Now I've cleared the throat, it's working again.
it is a piece of junk..do not buy any electrolux products.. if the battery fails there is no replacement ..the vac becomes a throw away
i have placed my complaint with consumer affairs.. but then they too are toothless and a waste of time.. there is no consumer protection in this country .. full stop
My ergorapido looks like faulty. Does it normally turn the blue lights on in a few seconds and then off when it is charging? And when using it will turn on for 2 or 3 seconds then will turn off.
Hi Alvin ☀️ If you feel these behaviours are not as you would expect from the product it would be better to contact Electrolux directly. The customer service agents should be able to help. That's their job. I can only tell you what I see mine doing, and that is that my vacuum has 3 lights that light as it charges. When full: no blinking for 2 or 3 seconds. Hope that helps
Our electrolux ergorapido will turn on but shuts off after a few seconds, but if you hold the switch down the vacuum will keep running. How can we fix the switch so it will keep running when you switch it on?
I just fixed mine Jim. If it's the same problem, the roller brush on the stick is stuck. I cleaned loads of hair mainly from around the cog that makes the roller turn. Works a treat now. Good luck.
thank you
important to clean the roller, but not enough. After you replace the roller, manually try to turn it. (Thanks to whoever posted this on p. 3 here, 2015!). It may feel completely stuck. Keep trying until it begins to rotate again. Then turn on the machine: it works again!
Its not vaccuming dust
Can you buy a new battery and how much are they?
Hi Deborah E.

Thanks,

I phoned Electrolux, 20 minute wait to find out a local repair person who was very helpful but still $65 for them to look at it which would go to the labour costs if they could fix it, then the cost of the battery and maybe more labour cost.
Purchasing a Kogan for $119, it it goes for a year or two it will have paid for itself with less aggravation and has nearly double the power.
My vacuum shows that its charging, but once off the charger will not turn on. Ive emptied it out and cleaned it. Nothing seems to work
You may need to chase up the warranty. I have no problems with mine. Sorry but I can't help with any 'not working'questions.
Mine also cut out after about 3 seconds (the hand held operated separately but not when replaced on the stick), I cleaned the brush at the bottom as there was a ton of hair wrapped around it but it still would not work. I found the small wheel where the brush attached had some hair wrapped around it - which I could only see with a torch. I cleaned this (not expecting any difference) and it started working fine!
This also fixed mine thank you so much for this comment!!!
The cog that turns the roller will be stuck. I cleaned a load of hair from around the cog so it would turn freely. Good luck with yours.
Brilliant!! - thanks heaps Nicole. Torch was a must. Now I just need new tweezers but the vacuum works a treat. Much appreciated!!
Its about 4 yes old. Love it...never had a problem. Not much to vacuum always empty filter after every use and wipe over .
Yesterday did usual vacuuming...was sucking and rollers turning..was picking up (very little particles) .
When I went to empty there was nothing in the filter ...whatever there was dissappeared! Don't know where it went! We checked all..the motor through the small suits looked dusty. Can you tell us what the problem would be? And where the dust went? And of course how to fix it? I had been thinking what a great little vacuum it was...I'm sad about it!
found a lot of lint in the fan,, cleared that but still wont suck
Hi, my Ergorapido stops after a few seconds. It is charged and I have removed the filters and everything so I can see the motor turning around. It still stops after a few seconds. So it has to be some problem with the motor or the battey. Any idea?
Even I am having the same issue.
Electrolux 18 V ergo Rapido has red light come on after charging is complete. Please advise?
The unit will not operate for more than 1/2 a second and then cuts out. If I remove it from the stick and turn it on it will stay running. Is this an inexpensive repair.
Hi Mike. Huge huge job and you need to give a bollocking to the other half.
Had exactly the same problem a couple of months ago. Wee vacuum works great, put it back then nope.
Turn the vacuum upside down. You know the long bit which picks up the dirt and pet hairs, wife hairs and carpet bits? I guarantee it's blocked with hair and has dropped rotating. That overloads and stops. That's what the rectangular button on top is for. Put your foot on it and it should cut away all the hair. Use scissors this time as it's bad isn't it.
No money required.
Thanks but have done all the obvious like you suggested. No luck
Still has to be something to do with the main vacuum, Mike, as the wee one works fine. Checked all the filters as it's almost certainly something which is overloading the battery.
There is only one Vacuum motor on these and it functions well when the hand held is removed and operated by the on board switch. It is only when I replace the unit into the upright stick that it fails to operate for more than 1/2 a second. The only difference is it is supposed to drive the brushes which it doesn't. The roller brush is all free and rotates easily. Looks like its electrical ???
Same problem here. Starts then immediately stops by itself in stick mode within 0.5 sec. If started by the hand held, it works, but there's no more light showing near the brush so it looks like an electrical issue. The brush was cleaned up well, no luck. Also noticed the brush does not roll any more when driven by handheld (by hand it rolls fine)
I am. Having the same issue.
See my comments above.
Hold the start button and as soon as it starts push the button below..
works every time for me,, got to do it fast though
Thanks but ive dumped the machine
I have the exact same issue, was this ever solved?
I have taken it almost completely apart and can see there's power getting to the motor that spins the head, due to the LED lights coming on, but it turns off almost instantly. Nothing looks out of place that someone with no experience can see.
Okay so I'm not sure if anybody is still reading this but I finally fixed my vacuum cleaner and feel like I should share what I did to try and save someone else the same headache.
I ended up taking all the screws out from the bottom/head of vacuum (pop out, I used a small screwdriver to get in behind them, the tiny wheels to reveal 2 more screws) and found the motor that runs the spinning roller head was filled with dust. I blew out any dust I could find in it and gave it a few taps on the bench - turned it on an it worked!
Be careful putting the head back together that you don't put a screw through one of the wires like I did, as it then becomes another battle.
Mine doesnt suck up even small pcs
