I've had the unit for about 3 months. It appears the pump has failed. A team/hissing sound can be heard internally and the lights go blue from stand by, but no water or machine sound can be heard when pressed. All round a solid little unit, but not built to last. Any suggestions?

Hi Ray,

Thanks for your enquiry.

Have you tried descaling the machine? You can use any descaler from your local supermarket.
We have a troubleshooting guide online that also gives instructions on how to descale.
If you go to Espressotoria.com.au and scroll to the bottom of the screen, you will find a tab 'SUPPORT'
Under that tab are all the user manuals.

If the problem continues, please contact our customer service team on 1300 393 895

Thanks for the reply. The issue is that when either cup button is pressed no machine/pump sound can be heard, or water passed. I have read the manual and followed the troubleshooting. According to the guide it's a pump failure. being that I purchased the unit on sale for $50 and still have receipt, would I be better served to just buy another weighed against cost of repair or would it be covered?, Looking at just buying a replacement due to the above.

I have bought caprista yesterday and bought cafespresso capsules with it, I tried it and the taste was great, however the capsules are falling in, in order to put it in place I reach inside from the tray side and hold it in the middle, is this a capsule size problem or I’m missing a piece?

Hi Eli,

The Caprista coffee machine is compatible only with 'Espressotoria' branded capsules,

It sounds as though you may be using incompatible capsules?

would you need a frother with this machine to heat the milk or is it hot enough to just add the milk as per normal? obviously depending on the qty of milk you add

Hi Sue,

For milk based coffee,we recommend using a frother for best results. Adding milk straight into your Espresso will make it cold.

Hope this helps!

Do you have any plans on making a reusable pod for this machine?

1 answer
Espressotoria
Espressotoria CSEspressotoria

HI Philly,

Our capsules are the result of years of research and development. The coffee is ground, filled and packed in a way that yields the very best in cup experience in conjunction with the patented extraction mechanism of our machine.

As we would no longer be able to guarantee the consistent quality of our product with a reusable capsule, we have elected to not develop such a product at this time.

Same issues at work with these machines we have had several and doing the same thing nit piercing the pods at the back even when we have had only a week or 2. There seems to be a common theme here with these machines with this problem. Is there anyway to fix the issue?

1 answer
Espressotoria
Espressotoria CSEspressotoria

Hi Todd,

Thanks for your question. As long as the capsules are Espressotoria branded, they should be piercing without issue.

For a machine that is only 2 weeks old, we suggest you contact 1300 393 895 and speak to our Warranty department for assistance.

Which are the best/strongest pods to use with milk?

Cass

May be personal preference of flavour is more important. With milk, I feel Espresso may be quite strong (difficult to be sure since the milk tend to mask the differences). All flavours seem ok. My "current" preference: Italian Blend but .... others eg Espresso, Mountain Grown and Oro are also good to get a variety now and then. BTW to get a strong cuppa, may like to use two pods for just one cup: 1x30mL shot per pod then replace the pod & 1x30mL again.

HI There,

We have three brands across our Espressotoria range. Vittoria, Caffe Aurora and Chicco D'Oro.

Our Strongest capsule in the Vittoria Range is Mountain grown, followed by Espresso.

our strongest Aurora capsule is Italian followed by Prima Qualita.

Strongest Chicco D'oro is Espresso followed by Ristretto.

Enjoy your coffee!

Thanks very much. Might pay to mark the boxes with a strength level 'code'.

Espressotoria CSEspressotoria

HI Stephen,

Thanks for your enquiry, it may be that the water tank is not properly positioned/inserted, there may be a lack of water in the tank or perhaps a pump issue.

If the tank is in its correct position with sufficient water in it, we suggest getting in touch with our warranty team on 1300 393 895 to assist.

Kind Regards,

The Espressotoria Team.

My partner threw or manual out so I cannot see if this is the norm or not.

It seems like our machine does not give an adequate amount of coffee. When I emptied the discarded pod bin it was half full of old coffee(clearly lazy partner). Why is this so?

Hi Ellie,

Thanks for reaching out.

There could potentially be an issue with the alignment of your piercing mechanism, which is why your capsule container is half full of coffee.

Please try the following link to help alleviate the potential issue, otherwise please call us on Tel +61 2 9748 0299.

Hi, can I repair what appears to be a problem with the hole punching mechanism? I have de-scaled regularly and found this problem of cap on, no coffee or very little comes through has recently crept in. I have had some success at punching in the holes myself prior to insertion but would very much prefer it fixed. I only use branded caps. Margi

Hi there - while I’m not an expert on repairs I have had another machine (another brand) present with this same issue. Given the cost of these machines is low when on special you’d probably do better just buying another unless you wanted to try a warranty claim. Of course if you’ve had successful repairs post a review for all to see. Thanks for the question and good luck

Because it is designed to only give you the maximum amount of water that is the optimum for one pod, to get a cup/mug full from one push/pod it will be too watered down.
