I have learnt to clean my floor until the steam runs out, I leave it and go and so some more vacuuming. Sometimes when I go to start using the mop after 10 min and the green light is on, I go to use it and nothing comes out. Not water or steam, nothing at all. I am so over this, and very disappointed with this product. What is going on?????

HI Colleen, if the green light is on, then it is heated and up to the correct steam pressure and should work as per normal. If steam is not coming, the inner tube that carries the steam (inside the external coiled hose) may have twisted inside and therefore stopping the steam from coming out. When this happens again, turn the steam switch on and try turning the steam gun 1-2 full turns to the left, if no change try turning to the right. If this does not solve the issue. Call our Customer Service line on 1800 66 38 66 (toll free) to discuss having the product serviced. For easy reference our Customer Care number is on the silver sticker on the product. You can call us for any service issues or if need any replaceable accessories such as the floor brush pads.

I just purchased the steam cleaner today. I used it throughout a 3x2 yet the green light never came on letting me know it had reached temperature.

I have found on mine that the green light comes on when I let it sit and reach operational temperature (takes about 10 mins). Once I commence using it and steam is coming out the light remains extinguished.

Occams Razor
Occams Razor

The green temperature light is most probably set to a higher temp than 100°C which it will/should get to as water boils at a higher temperature under pressure, and the higher temperature creates the pressure to force out the steam.
When you use the wand the pressure drops a bit, the temperature in the boiler also drops which makes the heater unit switch back on & the green light goes off while it heats up the water again. If it is steaming & cleaning properly you may just have a faulty indicator light.
Yes it does take a while to initially build up the pressure & reach temperature.

Euroflex
Euroflex A.Euroflex

Hi Tricie- depending on the amount of water in the boiler the unit can take 7-10 min to heat up and then the green ready light comes on as an indicator that the unit is ready to use. If the green light is never coming on then it can just be the case of a faulty light not working. Please contact our Customer Care Line on 1800 66 38 66 and we can look after that for you. Also for future reference the Customer Care number is also on silver sticker on the unit.

FYI for all customers using this model- wait for the green ready light to turn on after every fill, once you start using the unit, the green ready light will fluctuate on and off as the internal thermostat turns on and off. The green ready light turning on and off during use is not a fault, it is the way the unit operates.

Can we clean velvet?

1 answer
Euroflex
Euroflex A.Euroflex

HI Mackay, sorry for the late reply, we seem not to have received this question. I would say NO. Steam is used to clean sealed floors and surfaces in place of harsh chemical based detergents. Given that Velvet is a porous fabric, we do not recommend using a steam cleaner on it. Like other fabrics, the velvet may need a shampoo or a delicate detergent to clean it.

My monster SC60-R seams to put out a lot of water instead of steam and my floors get flooded I have to then go over again with a towel to dry
What am I doing wrong?
It has worked with steam previously but now seams to be splattering water?

Maybe try emptying the unit of water and refill with only 500ml of water. Turn on and let it reach nominal temperature, remove the mop pad and activate steam trigger for about 10 seconds and it will push any water out of the extension piece, deactivate steam trigger, reinstall the mop pad and see how you go.

Occams Razor
Occams Razor

If you are not over-filling the chamber, then it sounds like its not getting up to temperature - the green light should come on at the correct temp. And the first time you pull the trigger, you will get some water until the steam and heat comes through, but this shouldn't take more than 5-10 seconds. If its not getting up to temperature then it may need to be looked at - keep in mind your consumer warranty if it turns out to be faulty

I am looking at buying the SC60 model. I want to be able to clean my ceilings with it. Euroflex said the hose probably wouldn't be long enough for the mop head to reach the ceiling on the end of the 2 extension rods so you would have to carry the unit around with you rather than pull along the ground. Can anyone confirm this? I find it hard to believe it wouldn't reach with the extension rods plus the cord for length. I am only talking about standard height ceilings. Thanks.

Shane

It will reach a regular domestic ceiling; however, to get the angle of the head on the extension rods to a usable angle you might have to be on a step ladder depending on how tall you are. It would be uncomfortable to use in the manner you describe. You work up a bit of a sweat just using it normally on the floor, so inverting everything would be hard work.

Occams Razor
Occams Razor

As Shane said, it will be a bit awkward. Two low step ladders with a plank between or a low table might make it slightly easier. You will definitely increase the muscle strength in your arms. Provided you don't tilt the SC60 body too much, you can have it slung over a shoulder to use, but if it tilts too much you will get very hot water emerging rather than just steam.
The other factor is that you do need a little pressure on the pad whilst cleaning, and you will probably find that 2 extensions is just a bit too flexible - 1 extension would work much better. Its a lot easier on walls as the angle of the head works better in that mode, but ceiling can be done.

Has anyone else found no brush adaptor in their unit? I can't connect the wand to the brush head as the brush head just finishes in a flat surface without the triangular adaptor for the wand to fit in to.

Perhaps your unit only had one adaptor in the box...if should have 2 ..one for the floor brush and the other for the small triangular brush with nylon bristles. WE can send you one at no cost to you.

I have used the steam cleaner for 18 months and have had no issue until recently. The long tube that connects to cleaning head leaks water and puddles. I would like to but new tubing but don't know where to purchase. Ideas?

2 answers
Occams Razor
Occams Razor

First recommendation is to use your consumer rights and take it back to the place of purchase for replacement or repair, as this item should have a reasonable service life without failure, {18 months is not a long time for domestic use} and the hose is a critical and integral part of the cleaner, not an accessory.
Other than that, the best I can recommend is to try the Monster Customer support line - 1800 663866 (which is on the user manual). HOWEVER - it is held in place by the handle and the casing, both of these screwed together, and therefore would require disassembly to replace, so if the internal tube has failed I would say they [Monster] would insist on taking to an authorised repair centre, if only for safety reasons. It is certainly not user serviceable/replaceable. I had a quick look on the net - no ebay or international spares sellers have this part listed anywhere I could find.

Hi Zoli, i am still struggling as Monster does not respond or their employees do not help in any manner. I have been to various hardware stores, my last resort is to contact industrial water treatment spare parts supplier shop in town. Will let you know the outcome.

Is this a continuous fill machine? Or do you need to wait until the boiler has cooled down before you can refill it again?

1 answer
BGG
BGG

Hi m.s
You will need to allow the unit to cool down or at least when you notice the steam is getting less turn off the orange button and let the steam escape until it ceases. Slowly unscrew the cap and release any residual steam I have let it go for about 10 minutes and then filled with hot water and started again. I can clean my apt 11 squares thoroughly (twice over) before I need to refill it and that includes cleaning the shower.
Hope this helps...

I have the euroflex canister and when I am using it to clean our hard wood floors instead of steam constantly I have quite a few busts of water and I am just wondering what I am doing wrong?

Hi Sharon,
To be honest I have not had that happen to me, if you live in an area that has hard water then you could try using distilled water?
Make sure the on slide is on all the way and all parts are clipped in properly, make sure the green light is on before you start steaming?.
I only have a tiled floor but I dont think that makes any difference...try contacting the Monster Appliances, they are very good to deal with and may just have the right answer.
Hope you get it working soon, I would be in panic mode as I use mine all the time...

Hi, I'm really interested in purchasing this product to clean my bounce houses. I've heard by some people that they have been using it successfully. Can you tell me if the product will be safe to use on 15oz or 18oz vynl? If would be great if I could get some of the ground in dirt that won't seem to come out any other way.

Euroflex A.Euroflex

Whilst we have had many customers successfully use Monster steam products on vinyl flooring and hard surfaces it is essential that you check with the floor manufacture or research online as to whether your floors are suitable. Monster steam cleaners produce a very hot and dry steam making it suitable for water sensitive floors like timber and floating floorboards, unlike other steam mops. However we advise speaking with one of our technicians prior to purchasing to see if heat will have a particular adverse effect on your flooring. Please call the Monster Customer Care Line on 1800 663 866. Thanks

Hi, is this model good for spot cleaning stained fabric on a sofa? Cheers.

2 answers

Euroflex A.Euroflex

Hi San, Monster Steam Cleaners are not specifically designed for stain removal from fabrics however they may assist with spot cleaning depending on a number of factors: material, age of stain, stain composition etc. They do not wash stains nor do they have a suction element however with the assistance of a chemical base cleaner it may help to improve the appearance by moistening stains and assisting in the extraction from the fiber.

Hi would you recommend this product as I need something to clean my car interior and also a
Bathroom and around the house, not floors? Thank you

5 answers
Euroflex
Euroflex A.Euroflex

Hi Mervyn, the Monster Compact is a multi-purpose steam cleaner with a comprehensive set of accessories that can clean most household messes. It is fantastic for kitchens and bathrooms, especially to clean soap scum, greasy food spills, tile grout, mirrors and windows, bench tops and hard surfaces etc. As for the car interior it can refresh & deodorise carpets and fabric after vacuuming, however there is no suction or washer element for cleaning fabrics and materials. Fabric and carpet stains may be improved with the assistance of a stain removal product however the Monster Compact was not purpose built for washing fabrics and carpets. Hope this answer helps, for more information please call our Customer Care Line 1800 663 866. Thanks

I haven't used it in the car although we are in central Qld so I'd definitely try it in my car as it'd dry really quickly up here! I haven't used it on windows yet or anywhere except floors and the kitchen I'm afraid. I will be using it on shower walls and the bath tub this week though and will comment then.

Thank you for your answers. I've gone ahead now and picked one up yesterday evening and look forward to giving it a go. I recently bought a smokers car and from my research, using a steamer on the carpet, seats and head liner is one of the best way to kill the smoke generating bacteria. I'm also interested to see how it works on removing stains on the car seats. I might make a video out of it for Youtube and link it to here. Thank you again for your help.
