Why does the oven take over 30 mins to get hot and why doesn't it get hot enough? What fan setting should I put it on to get quicker, hotter results? Even at 220 degrees oven fry chips had not browned after an hour. Should take 12 minutes at this temperature, according to packet. I totally agree with all of the comments about the grill being too close to the element. I've tried both trays and trivets but still can't fit a piece of toast with anything on top.
Love to know any secrets to make this product work as one would expect.
Looking forward to your reply.
many thanks,
Louise

Hi Lou, happy to help if I could but I no longer have the stove. The big front hotplate came on twice that I know of without being turned on, a new switch and hotplate were installed then afterwards one night before 9pm I got up to find it was on again and a t towel was on fire. Good guys say it's my supply fault, gave me a full refund but refuse to sell me another brand stove and take this risk. It was 4 months old. My question is if its my supply why didnt all hot plates come on. AGL says its nothing to do with them so I am in the process of looking for Aldi to have a benchtop oven with 2 hotplates for under $100 and give that a go. To answer what I do know I, yes the oven did take about 25 mins but was hot enough as I only cooked frittata, casseroles or cakes, never tried oven fry chips, the fan setting should cook faster. I did find that the deeper tray would have taken a cheese grill sandwich. What I did do was put it on the base of the grill tray and then awkwardly take it out with tongs onto a plate, no trivet. I suggest you have been unlucky with purchase with your stove, but what can you do about it I don't know. Can you change it at the store? I would have managed though the fan drove me mad as I am a single household. Very sorry for your dilemma, my old one of 34 years was better. Best wishes, Lou.
