Great company
We're on our second F&P fridge. The first one was with us for five years trouble free before we moved home and left it in situ. The second one we bought and the subject of this review, we've now had for three years. Not trouble free though. One Sat evening we heard a loud bang in the kitchen. On Sunday morning, we realised it was the fridge, it had stopped working. It's the weekend, disaster. But not at F&P. They are open to take calls, not in some part of Asia, but a call centre locally 24/7. I called, they came round on Monday morning and fi...Read more
xed the problem. Luckily under warranty. Appliances are subject to problems and you want to know you'll get good, prompt service. We're just about to undertake a kitchen reno. Not looking at Miele, V-Zug, Gaggenau, De Dietrich or anyone else. Everything will be F&P because we've never been disappointed with the performance or service. Hats-off to them.Similar opinion? Excellent fridge
I am very happy with this fridge. Its works well and has lots of space. I have had this for a few years and it has worked flawlessly. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. It has a five star energy rating. The fridge probably pays off for itself over time because of the energy rating.
large, freezer is at the bottom

Ordinary- too warm and poorly made
Worst fridge I've ever owned. Crispers very poorly made and the runners of both were broken very quickly just with normal use by one person. Too warm. A lot of food spoilage. I've owned Fisher & Paykel fridges before and were fine but not this one. Their dishwashers are appalling too - leave dishes dirty!
Not much. Looks ok, that's about it.
Too warm, poorly made with cheap materials

If you expect Cold water, forget it!
We paid a lot of money for this fridge as it was advertised as cold water dispenser and in other advertisments, freezing cold water. This is the main reason we bought it as we are an active family and want cold water all the time! This is far from what you get. I rang The Fisher and Paykel rep told me that the fist glass of water you get wont be cold as the pipe runs around the outside of the fridge, the second glass should be a bit colder!........................ What the?
Looks sleek
No cold water from cold water dispenser, useless!

An excellent fridge - have had it for more than 2 years with no problems
After serious trrouble with the Bosch fridge - I purchased this Fisher and Paykel - as it looked stylish, fitted my space and although inside seemed less sturdy than the Bosch (which provided constant issue) - I have found it to be immensely reliable and without any issue after 2 years. I do like the interior drawers and the lower level freezer. This fridge is in an open plan kitchen living zone - and has silent operation (the Bosch used to groan and make very strange sounds);looks great; and serves it's purpose well. Frequently entertain and t...Read more
herefore find the storage set up very useful. Have had no leaks or issues hence it is time I wrote this review to share this excellent product information with others. This is a fabulous fridge in a moderate price range - that is stylish, functional and has not presented any issues. Only issue is more about the space in our home. In a corner on a wall - so the door can't open fully - and the drawer on the inner side is a little more difficult to access. Tend to arrnge my things with least used items in drawer on right as a consequence. There is no fault or issue with this wonderful fridge - this point is simply due to placement in our home. Like the styling, the shape, the internal layout and fittings. The stainless steel exterior is easy to keep clean.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Quality not there
Nothing wrong with the way it refrigerates but it's not very well made. Our ice maker (a feature we use quite a bit)stopped working just out of warranty and the technician told us it was a manufacturing problem caused by using a defective part - but as we were out of guarantee, tough luck.
Another problem is that the interior plastic lining has cracked badly below the vegetable crispers; the crisper drawers themselves have cracked, and that funny plastic thing that goes over the top and serves no obvious purpose simply fell apart. The stainl...Read more
ess steel on the exterior of the fridge is too thin and marks very easily, so that the freezer door is now very battered looking. The unit was cheap at the time and now I can see why. It was on special. Now I know why.2 comments

Loving it!
It's so nice not to have to bend down to get food out of the fridge! The fridge compartment has a temperature variation of about 2c, which means we have it set for between 3-5c. The freezer drawers are on rollers and hold a lot. The glass shelves are wide and everything is displayed beautifully when you open the door.
Styling, features, quiet.

ental things I would like F&P to add. The first is an inbuilt digital thermometer so that you can see at a glance what the temperature is so that you can see whether you've set it cool or warm enough. I've bought a cheap analogue thermometer and stuck it to the wall of the fridge, and I'm sure F&P would think it far more appropriate to have one built it, as I would think to. Secondly, the butter and cheese storage bins on the inside of the door desperately need larger ridges on them for easier grip when you need to open them with wet hands. There are already ridges there but they're so small they're almost completely useless with wet or slippery hands when you're cooking. Apart from that, still going strong and still loving the fridge!Just updating that this fridge is still functioning flawlessly and I still absolutely love it.
Fridge is still running perfectly here in 2017 and it's never ever missed a beat. 10/10, 100%, 5 stars!

I like it
I purchased this one in March 2011 for my own use. It has been trouble free and works quietly and maintains desired temperature.
My mother bought one of these in 2007 and it has been trouble free. I also have the similar 402 Litre version in a rental property. This fridge was purchased in 2004 which has been trouble free and thats in extreme conditions of Alice Springs NT and multiple tenants.
The upside down layout is great, it just makes sence. This is the only layout I would consider these days.
Glass shelves are durable and easy clean. Plastic bins for cripser and freezer draws work well and feel durable.
I am happy with the product.
Does the job, Looks good and is practical with very usable layout
Nothing at this stage

High STAR rating but not cool
Initially it performed well, even with the noise similar to that described by other people. After 2 yrs or so it got up/down in performance. On warm days (> 25 C), both freezer (bottom) and fridge (top) compartments are not cold/cool enough. Ice-cream would turn to sort of mushy cream and top compartment temperature ~10-15C below the outside (ie outside=25C, inside=10-15). On hot day (outside=30), inside=15C. COld days (Room~17-18C) it is ok.
Efficient
Not cold enough - in fact it is below standard for food storage on warm days.

Terrible
Bought fridge in 2003 the ee4428 model its a Lemon buy any else.
I have friends with similar issues with Fisher & Paykel icing up
The worst thing its frost free but contiually ices up in freezer unit and pops the back panel off and ice requires defrost. It has even caused the fan to break fins off. You can't buy just a fan you have to buy a whole assembly $98 bucks.
Works very hard to cool nearly requiring it to be on 3/4 or 4/4 to cool fridge
Glass shelves prevent go flow of cold air around fridge especially when full of food
Upside down fridge...Read more

Good
A very well built fridge. Given the quality in the way the doors and drawers open and close, this represents a well priced quality fridge. I compared this with an equivalent sized Electrolux fridge (+$500 more) and I was recommended to purchase the Fisher & Paykel (only difference was energy efficiency).
A very stylish stainless steel fridge. The simple straight lines are present on the door and handle. Crisper drawers and freezer drawers are generous in size and all fitted on runners for easy sliding. A very handy freezer tray for ice cube trays and other flat, thin products.
Nothing so far.
