Beautiful and functional
Always wanted a F&P for a fridge, finally did it. Works like it’s supposed to. Really quiet, has bottle chill function which is a surprisingly good feature that I hadn’t expected. Looks really sleek and beautiful in our kitchen. It has roller wheels making it easy to move it for cleaning the floor underneath it. Highly recommended

overall great fridge with sleek design
Super easy to clean, sleek design and very spacious. We have had no issues with temperature and motor is very quiet. The freezer on the bottom is a decent size and i like the drawer system. The draws are deeper than the other fridges we looked at. Its not a massive fridge but good for a medium size family.

Fantastic fridge
The fridge is great. Seems to maintain a constant temp.
With 2 nice big draws and one small pull out tray the freezer is verstile/hold the right amount of food.
The fridge space is great and has more than enough room for what we need.
Onlything I wish it has was a digital LCD temp display. Other than that. Its fantastic.

Best fridge I’ve owned
This fridge is perfect being bottom mount every day items are always at eye level. Super quiet, well lit interior and plenty of room with good size shelves in the door. Crisper keeps vegetables in perfect condition for longer than any previous fridges I’ve owned. The recessed handles are great giving a straight forward minimalist look.

Recommended by Choice
I purchased this fridge after my Westinghouse RJ522V-R stopped working. I was initially just going to replace it with the equivalent model (WTB5400WAR), but there were a few things that steered me away. Choice gave it a relatively low score of 45% - citing "Very large fluctuations in temperature during normal operation" and "Freezer has very poor response to changes in ambient temperature". Choice gave it a food safety score of 28%. Westinghouse fridges, which are no longer made in Australia, have flimsy door shelving in my opinion. I've h...Read more
ad the door shelving break on another fridge, so this was a fairly significant factor for me. Finally, Westinghouse fridges no longer have gravity closing and require an extra flick to close. The salesman said this 'obviously open' feature was intended to avoid doors being left slightly ajar. It would take some getting used to I think. I seriously considered the new LG GT-515WDC. The door shelving was much more robust and a 10 year compressor warranty was compelling. It was well priced and had very good running costs. Choice rated a similar model (GT-515BWL) at 67% overall, with 69% food safety score. However they said the "fresh food compartment is not very uniform in temperature". I couldn't see any reviews of this product online, so I couldn't quite bring myself to buy it. Now to the Fisher and Paykel RF522BPRW6. Choice gave it 'recommended' status with 79% overall and 76% for food safety. The only bad point Choice listed was it didn't have a chiller. I've had bottom mount fridges before so that change didn't worry me. The door shelving is made of heavy duty white plastic. I've only had this fridge 24 hours, so maybe I'll need to re-post after a longer period, but my observations so far are: - tracks on the crisper and the freezer shelves are metal, so slide in and out easily - closing the door with the crisper open gently closes the crisper - while the freezer compartment is larger than the top mount fridge, the drawers take up a fair amount of the usable space - if you pull out the pastry tray, it takes the bottom tray with it - 1 litre containers rock around in the doorSimilar opinion? Space for everything and smart design
I love my new bottom freezer fridge, It is great when you have little kids and they can use the bottom freezer to serve themselves ice-cream. I was worried that the vegetable crisper will be close to the freezer and it might damage the veg and delicate fruit, but no everything works wells and all the products are in their own place. There is plenty of room for everything in the fridge, however, wish that the freezer section had a bit more capacity.

Sleek Look, Even cooling
I love my new upside down fridge freezer. The door of fridge has plenty of depth for all size bottles. I especially like how the crisper drawers have a slide out - not more scratching the bottom. The freezer unit with easy access slide out drawers make packing a lot of frozen goods a breeze. The thin middle drawer makes keeping heaps of ice cubes on hand and within easy access very handle for entertaining. Exterior comes up nicely with a clean damp cloth.

Excellent fridge, so much room for everything!
When I purchase my Fisher and Paykel Active Smart I was replacing an 18-year-old Fisher and Paykel. Initially, I though that anything would be better than my old 18-year-old fridge. If I only knew that the difference was going to be so drastic, I would have purchased a replacement 5 years ago. I finally have room to store anything that I want and I will never run out of room again for Christmas. I like my bottom freezer and my 4 year- old son gets there all the time to take his ice-creams out independently. I would recommend this fridge to anyone who is on the market.

Excellent fridge. SO MUCH SPACE!!
This fridge is very quiet, has a bright interior and nothing gets lot or forgotten anymore. The shelves are fully adaptable to what you need. There is heaps of space in the freezer as well. The fridge stays a consistent temperature and I like the alert to the fridge door being left ajar.

Does the job could of been better
Had to get a new fridge in a hurry as the last one burnt out, and we settled on the Fisher & Paykel 519L bottom freezer. This is the first time I have used or brought a bottom freezer, it makes packing the freezer a little easier with the pull out baskets. The fridge part is easy to stack and use the only complaint I have is that the top shelf tend to chill and sometime freeze what is put on there, even after adjusting the temp.

Bought my fisher n paykel last year. Great efficiency. I saved a lot on my electricity bill. Lots of space. Very quiet. My veggies last longer. Very easy to clean as well. Temperatures stay the same even after lots of opening throughout the day. large freezer capacity also. All in al a great value for money.

replaced 25yo FP with new FP - impressive upgrade.
On initial power up the compressor seemed a little noisy, buzzy, wheezy but after 1 day it appears to have settled down to normal extremely quiet operation.
Layout of the bottom freezer seems good, although not as much an increase in space we would have liked.
Just a top open freezer box model would have more space (no rails and baskets). In hindsite the more basic version with large area freezer at the top would have been better for our needs, maybe. Still we are happy with the new layout. Bottom freezer baskets move easily on the rails an...Read more

Lovely clean lines, great shelving layout, bright interior light, very quiet operation.
Just had my new F&P stainless steel F/F delivered and set-up by JBHiFi.
First impressions are: very clean lines, great shelving layout with one more shelf than most of their competitors, runs very quietly, very bright interior LED lighting. Very happy so far, if anything changes I will update this post.
On the downside the ice-maker is the old fashioned tray type, a modern twist-type would have been so much better!

Smart design and layout, excellent
Changing from a double-door fridge, the Fisher and Paykel was like a breath of fresh air. We liked the layout of the shelves, wide and shallow shelves so you get to see everything in the fridge clearly without having to rummage or dig deep. The interior light were well positioned and laminates the interior very well. Having used Japanese branded fridges before (like Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Samsung, Sharp etc), it lacks the the little details and various additional conveniences that Japanese models offer (e.g. built-in ice maker without piping). ...Read more
The clear plastic baskets look sleek and allow you to see what inside easily. I trust it will last us for a good many years to come, having used Fisher and Paykel products before, and the warranty on this item is quite good.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Very happy with this product
This fridge is suitable for all our needs. With only 2 people to provide for, the space is ample. The freezer drawer is an improvement on the previous model which had wire baskets. Any marks on the door are easily removed with a damp cloth then a dry cloth to finish. It is done in moments. It doesn't make as many odd noises as our previous F & P fridge. In fact it is pretty quiet.
3 months in we had a problem with the door alarming for no obvious reason. Fisher & Paykel arranged for a serviceman to call and he fixed it under warranty. ...Read more

Very pleased, spacious and quiet
Very happy with out decision that we chose this fridge, we bought this replace our 295lt Sammie (which was fine but too small). This new fridge uses pretty much same energy as our 295 lts fridge and runs very quiet and has all the bells and whistles. We like the LED lighting and drawers in fridge and freezer sections. Also, this one has a big capacity and still is less the 90cms in width (should fit through standard door and most apartments)

ALARM work when ever I open the dorr
Hi,
I bought a RF522BRPX6, 519L BM stainless steel Fridge four months ago after considering so many factors. I am really disappointed, Now it starts to alarm when-ever I open the door. It will last couple of minutes and then lights gone off. This is really annoying. I trusted this big brand and spend a lot of money.

1st Bottom Freezer Fridge
Have a new kitchen and room for a bigger fridge now. The fridge section has plenty of room, shelves are easy clean, door has plenty of room & 3lt Milk fits in door (my old fridge only fitted 2lt) dairy section is a little to high for me and is not able to be adjusted down, but I can live with it. Crispers are easy to access as runners are smooth. Freezer is excellent and again has plenty of room and the drawers slide smoothly. Stainless finish is very easy to keep clean, just wipe with damp cloth. More expensive than top freezer mounted but I think they are much better and worth the extra. Runs quietly and so far very happy with this purchase.

Second Fisher & Paykel Fridge Purchased. All Good Again
We've had an similar older F&P model fridge, which has operated for many years without hiccup. Now bought this one from Home Clearance in Auburn (it has the odd cosmetic blemish, so was discounted) and it all seems fine and functional. LED lighting is excellent for foraging a crowded fridge looking for a midnight snack.

Since it was under warranty, their technical people helped me to fix it. Reason was, one of the magnet was missing during the manufacture. Once it fixed, seems good now
