Just bought a new F & P model E522BRX4. It is soooooo noisy. I thought there was a problem with it so I called the service technician out and he told me there is nothing wrong with it! It sounds like some sort of industrial fridge. Apart from the cracks and pops at night, when the motor starts up, it is incredibly noisy. I note someone else had the same opinion as me. I don't understand why everyone else says it's quiet? this fridge has replaced a 14 year old F & P which was the same size and as quiet as a mouse. It is disturbing my sleep that's how bad it is. I love everything else about it but just hate the noise.

Hi Ursula I have never had that problem with this model. It is very quite in my experience.
Unfortunately we too think it's quite noisy with a vibration when the motor turns on. It disappears when the doors open but that is obviously self defeating. It's very annoying!
My fridge drove me nuts with the noise from day 1 of having it delivered.
We tried pulling it out of the cavity space and re-adjusting the feet/levels but that didn't work. It was doing my head in when I read somewhere that the fridge makes the noise when the freezer goes into defrost mode.
I worked out that if I open the freezer door for approx 90 seconds when it starts making the buzzing noise, the room temperature air flowing through the freezer while the door is open for that short amount of time Stops the noise !!!. Guess it's a work around the problem but as the freezer door is only open for no longer than 2 minutes (sometimes only 1 min with the freezer door open) and then the noise stops, what the heck as now I have a peaceful fridge. :)
