Would NEVER buy again

published

This machine was okay for the first couple of years, then started to thump loudly. Thumping increased in frequency until now I can't even use it - have to 'rebalance' clothes and restart over and over again, cannot even finish one wash due to this. The thumping sound is like a car crashing into the laundry, and the damn machine moves across the laundry as if possessed. I'm reduced to washing by hand until I can get time to go to the shop and buy a new one, which won't be another F&P! Oh, I also had to change to liquid detergent as powder detergent always left marks on clothes.

Excellent machine if used properly

published

This machine is excellent if you adhere to the manufacturer’s advice.
It will not clean well if overloaded and will imbalance if underloaded. Use the suggested detergent in correct amounts. I use this machine 5 times a week with my family’s clothes. I also put through massage towels at a rate of 20 per week. Always a great wash. I also like the programming with is intuitive and the clean cycle keeps me up with when the machine needs cleaned.

Purchased in February 2021.

happy with the machine

This washing machine cleans really well.. clothes come out rinsed very well. doesn’t seem to wear out our clothes like other brands. I’ve found a top loader is far easier and more convenient to use. all round a great machine that does what it supposed too. we definately made the right choice.

Dud machine bad from day one it took too long to wash and continuously noisy and offbalance and it lasted 11 years was not a heavy user 2 loads a week and black clothes were covered in washing powder every time I used Omo had to use liquid to overcome this issue. My old Simpson lasted 35 years Fisher and Paykel no longer a New Zealand company sold to Haier crap brand will not buy ever again!

No Wonder It's Discontinued

I purchased this machine back in 2009, took out extended 4yr warranty, have had repairs, have just come out of the new parts warranty and still the machine leaves the white marks on colours and sludge marks on all darks. I have to use the rinse cycle 3 times (excess water charges) to try and clean and this does not clean them. This was not a cheap washing machine to start with, was pretty much talked into it by the salesman, I would not recommend or ever purchase another Fisher & Paykel Product. Every time you call with a fault, it costs you more money for someone to come and TRY and repair it.

Heap of garbage

This is the worst washing machine ivevever seen. Better to hand wash. Can't clean sheets, can't clean clothes can't do anything. Land fill is what it is. F&P are rubbish. I will never buy a F & P anything again. Saves water by not washing anything. Might as well take the clothes straight back out of the laundry basket.

Worst Washing Machine - No Redeeming Features

Driving me insane!

published

Had the machine for 5 years and have always noticed white smudge marks on dark clothes. 6 weeks ago machine would never spin and came up with a fault number occasionally but not every time. After having to hang washing outside dripping wet we did a goggle search and cleaned out the pipes which was full of lint, hair and some 5c coins. We thought problem solved and understood why no water was able to drain. Worked for 3 washes and now on spin cycle constant "load of balance." I thought maybe the loads are too heavy but even if I put 2 items in same story! When I try to do a spin cycle on it's own it fills up the machine on a rinse cycle which take 30 mins and still doesn't spin! Guess I'm back to hanging out dripping wet clothes again!

Fisher & Paykel Aquasmart beeping driving me crazy but keeping me fit

published

I agree with the other reviews of the Aquasmart clothes washer. The "of balance message" at the rinse and spin cycle is driving me crazy as the machine is perpetually beeping at me and I have to run and reload machine when there is nothing wrong with the load.I need someone to advise me how to resolve this issue. This is an expensive machine and shouldn't happen after a few years.

Anything but water saving

published

A nice looking machine but completely useless when it comes to it's primary job - washing clothes.
Leaves clothes twisted in knots, lint and detergent scum all over sheets, table cloths, denim clothing.
Advice from F&P has been of no use. Most items need washing twice.
Unfortunately this machine is a dud.

Fails in its basic purpose

Oh rejoice!

Oh happy days! My aquadumb that i purchased in 2008 finally died on thursday, wouldn't work told me to call technician. Not on your life! I would not spend one cent on this piece of rubbish! When i first bought it i rang f and p to complain and tell them i wanted something else of course that didn't happen however they sent me a technician who told me what a dud this model is .... And so it was for the last 5 years! Strangely enough a friend bought the same one at a similar time and hers broke down recently too. Mmm 5 years shelf life? Not good enough!
That it no longer works!

Beeping Crazy

published

Yes it washes clothes but when it unbalances it beeps every SIX seconds and wakes the children during the night. There is no program to extend the frequency of beeps. Rang Fisher and Paykel customer service they didn't care at all. It is Truly annoying and I wont buy another one again.
It cleans clothes
Poorly designed alarm mode

Very disappointed!

I too would like to agree with all the poor reviews of this product. This is my second F&P washing machine. The first was great .. no problems. The Aquasmart is the complete opposite. Every time I do a wash with sheets or blankets or darks they come out with dirt/lint/soap scum on them and I have to rewash. So much for using less water! Note to self ... read reviews before purchasing next time.

You are actually lucky that it won’t turn on. If it did you would have bigger problems. Put it in the nearest crusher ASAP. This is the only way to stop this particular piece of garbage causing you and many others continual problems. Hopefully one day soon one of the law firms will start a class action for all of us who got ripped off.

Only try to remedy this if you have Earth Leakage Safety Switch - otherwise you risk a very serious/fatal zap! Double check the plug is not damaged - pins bent, wires stretched. Check plug is correctly seated in power point. check power supply is switched on - this includes checking the fuse in the power supply. Press the "power on" switch on the machine console. If non of this works, (and you are not electrocuted) call a service centre. It is NOT SAFE to fiddle any further.

plug lamp into power point, if it works then power is ok.
plug in machine and turn on power - no tune, no lights - controller faulty.
make sure you receive instructions to set the size when fitting the new controller.
