Agreed on the sheets - what a design feat! Remove an important proven design element for drying sheets - a drum that revolves both ways - and replace it with one that only revolves one. Design of the year award; I think not.

Have never really been happy with this dryer, not drying properly, sheets and towels balling up. Now just out of warranty it is making the same noise as many others are reporting. I had a service guy come out last week, F/P payed for parts I payed for call out $160. Less than 1 week and it is making the same noise. Will be contacting F/P again after the Easter break to fix again at their expense(surely there is warranty on their own work), If this happens again I will be calling for a refund. The front roller guides are not fit purpose yet destroyed in a matter months. With so many other complaints with the same issue this is definitely worthy of a recall. Fisher and paykel only have technician in perth also leading to long service times... he has fixed it twice just inside warranty.

We purchased this dryer 3 years ago. It is designed as a large robust family machine but in our case it only gets low usage and recently broke down. All machines can break but living inner-city we need a clothes dryer and service is an essential part of ownership for any product.
We booked a service call with F&P, joined the queue, waited the time but they cancelled the day before sighting one of their technicians was sick and the other one was on leave (only 2 for Sydney?). Next available time is two weeks away.

The dryer was a lemon to begin with and F&P were not pleasant to deal with. I had a guy come out 4 times (between Dec - Feb) and they claimed each time it was different problem. I wasn't going to pay for it to be fixed as it was still relatively new. They extended the warranty for extra time to compensate the dramas. I wont even buy the new version. This version has been discontinued and are also very poor.

Fisher & Paykel is supposed to stand for quality & reliability right?

Although this model is now discontinued, I'm sure that the new model has not addressed the problems mentioned here-

The comments about twisting sheets into a tight, hot, wet ball are completely accurate. I clean the lint filter after every use, and the "clean lint filter" still comes on about half the time when I start a new load (it waits just long enough for you to walk away and start something else). The lint filter catches very little lint anyway, so I have to vacuum interior of the holder out regularly. And today, after just 7.5 months of use, the lint filter split along the hinge -- just scored plastic with no reinforcement. So now that's broken, too. Not happy.

We are onto our 3rd service call on a 2.5 year old dryer, I am a little but worried how long it will be until my protection under the consumer guarantees act runs out. I live in New Zealand.

We purchased the first model of this dryer in October 2014. Early last year was the first service call when the dryer stopped working (Dryer about 18 months old). Service guy came out and diagnosed fault to the capacitor. Fixed that and dryer was back working. Off and on from here the dryer started getting progressively loud...

Nothing but trouble came damaged to start, they sent someone out to check it that had no idea what a dryer was! Then next guy fixed it and it's only been running for 10 months and now it's saying door error. Now I can't get hold of anyone to help fix it! Shocking customer service

F&p condenser dryer I have had the bloke out to look at my dryer he put the new cycle on it for sheets but still does not dry them, We have had door issues and no its out of the i year and its stuffed . Bought in March 2014 we honestly have never been happy with it, But now I can;t even use it and was told $140 call out + parts. That is just not on,. The dryer has never worked well the door has been an issue in the past now the door catch thing has fallen inside the dryer and with out being able to close the door it wont work!!

It came with the hoses setup to drain out a hose and down the drain so it dumped all the water all over the floor. it was a simple matter of plugging in the drain hose that goes to the reservoir on the top.

after that it has not had any issues. takes a bit to do a load but every dryer takes a long time

though it is annoying that it does not estimate how long its got to go when on auto.

I think the light on the inside of the drum is a nice touch

I bought this top of the range F&P dryer 12 months ago. It seemed to be working well, until it began making a a very loud noise when in use. The service man told me there was a fault in in the driver, possibly from the factory, and the noise was the drum spinning off centre and hitting the side. I suggested to F & P they replace the the dryer as it seemed to be faulty from the start. My biggest disappointment was from F&P themselves.They have never called me back as promised and when I call to speak to a supervisor (as the phone operater cannot...

I Cannot dry my sheets as they end up in a tight ball and do not dry. I Have tried every setting there is and does not dry on any of them. The drum only turns one way. Is that what it is meant to do. Towels do the same.

( See previous post - I was mislead) I previously posted that I had a dryer that tangled my sheets. FIsher and Paykel made a replacement module, which when using the "SHEETS" cycle, gives 4 minutes one direction and then 30 seconds in reverse, and no more tangles. This module is replaced free under warranty. No energy rating loss either. The Dryer works a treat now and very happy. NOTE: Harvey Norman offered to refund me for the dryer if F&P could not fix the reverse tumble cycle.

Great that this item does not blow air and dust out into the room or for you to have to vent this outdoors. This purchase was disappointing and the item died after exactly a year. Not that we use it much as well. Very disappointed as we did pay a premium for this over a normal dryer. They don't make white goods to last anymore!!
