Just Don’t !
This is the third and last unit I’ve bought over the last 12 years, and they just keep getting worse with each generation, not better as you would expect. I’ve run an Engineering team doing product development and I have to tell you that these guys have no idea about practical product design fit for purpose....this last one both handles broke off with normal daily use within 12months ! See the crappy
Tiny plastic tab in the photo !
The top draw door close detect failed within 6 months ! And the list of failures over that 12 years on the 3 units is too long to detail ! We are only a 3 person family and our water is very soft in souther Sydney so not heavy users, although 1
Drawer does go on daily at least
Purchased in February 2021 at Goodguys.

Don't buy Fisher and Paykel ever
We've had this for 3 years and have had nothing but problems with it. Motherboard needed replacing after 13 months, just out of warranty funnily enough. Similar issues again in July this year, and again 3 months later, now. The handles cracked within 6 the, the wire racks break easily, and zero support from Fisher and Paykel. Pay a little extra and get a Bosch, you won't regret it like I do.
Purchased in February 2021 at Appliances Online for $1,409.00.

Huge Disappointment
It's our second F&P double dish drawer, first one lasted 8 years so we decided to purchase another. We have had it repaired 5 times due to faulty LCD screens and wiring. The top draw locked itself and wouldn't work, then the LCD screen went blank. Bottom draw LCD screen shone a blue light with no digital screen. We have (so far) been able to claim everything on warranty.

Good dishwasher, Very pleased with it
I have had this dishwasher for the last 5 years, and am very pleased with it. Of the two drawers we use the upper one 99% of the time as we are a family of 3. We use the second drawer only after parties when there are a lot of dishes.
Need to make sure that no dishes or spoons block the sprayer from spinning. I find finish detergent tablets work really well for me.
I bought the dishwasher from The GoodGuys for approx 1400 and was able to install it myself.
The running times seem quite long but i use the lowest ie 33 min and that works well for us.
We had one issue with a sensor for the top drawer which was fixed under warranty. This happened within the first year.

Good value for money
Dishes come out spotless every time if a good quality tablet is used.
Isn't any louder than other makes or models I've owned.
Only downfall is that the bottom drawer isn't as deep as the top drawer so our larger plates can only be cleaned in the top drawer.
Good product overall.

Terrific dishwasher
The model is now discontinued but it is an absolutely wonderful machine. we have never had an issue with it. purchased in 2014 - used every day as we are a family of 5. Not easy to stack pots but does clean very well. it is not as quiet as I would like but also too overly noisy.

Very convenient!
Very happy with my 2 drawer dishwasher. This is the second one I have purchased. Love everything about it. Cleans well, has lots of cycles to choose from, especially short ones, as I don't alway need long cycles for dishes that aren't heavily soiled. Saves on water & power. The best feature is the draws, very convenient as there is always an empty dishwasher available. Always use my drawers in rotation. Great for dinner parties because can load first drawer with dishes, wash and dry without having to unload to do second lot of dishes! Like having two dishwashers! Very quite and so far never had a problem with the two I have had.

Perfect
Well firstly I read all reviews and although they seem to go against this product I had set my mind on what I wanted and this was it!
I have had my dishwasher now for six months I must admit I am totally happy with it. I am saddened to read that this model is discontinued but am wrapped that i got what I wanted! We had to keep approaching it to check it was working as it was sooooo quiet!

Quiet and reliable
We bought this dishwasher secondhand 4 or so years ago. When this one dies, we will reaplce it with the same model as it has been excellent. It's very quiet and washes and dries well. Though i recommend to lightly rinse dishes before placing them in so that the filter needs minimal attention. I coujld never go back to a single drawer dishwasher again.

just OK, but not the best quality
i purchased the fisher & paykel double dish drawer dishwasher just over a year ago & i bought it because i loved the fact that it had the 2 drawers & you could do smaller, more frequent loads quite economically, but have since realised that the economy cycles really don't clean the dishes well enough, so i end up running full cycles all the time now defeating the purpose of why i chose this dishwasher in the first place.
the dishwasher itself is OK & i am not totally unhappy with it, but compared to my previous washer which was an AEG (about...Read more
20+ yrs old too), this lacks in so many areas, so first the bad points: * difficult to stack at times & cannot fitany larger items like pots or pans * very expensive for the quality * poor quality & is made of mostly plastic - the plastic under the handles is already cracked & as it happened out of warranty, i won't be able to get anyone out to look at it without a hefty fee * the economy cycles really do not clean your dishes well enough * even though the drying cycle is quite a long one, does not dry dishes very well at all now for the good points:Similar opinion? If it weren't for the double drawers I would have dumped it by now.
We have owned this dishwasher for almost 3 years now. We purchased it for its double drawers.
Good:
Quiet cleaning - we put it on before bed and throughout the day while baby sleeps. No issues with noise here.
I love being able fill the top level with dinner plates and put on at night and still be able to stack the bottom after breakfast without having to unload the top first.
We owned an earlier model dishdrawer that was gifted to us from family and liked this feature. However the dishwasher never seemed to clean as well as our friends s...Read more
ingle door dishwashers. We put it down to being an older model with parts that needed replacing. When the time came to purchase a new one during renovations we stuck with the fisher and Paykel for convenience. We received 6 months free Dishwashing tablets with our current model Dishdrawer. These proved to be a big problem. For starters they didn't fit in the detergent compartment. The Good guys told us to grind up the tablets and pour them in. This is ridiculous and proved to be cumbersome. The supplier told us to drop them in the cutlery basket This left residue all over the half cleaned cutlery and most times a half dissolved tablet stuck to a dish. We gave up on the tablets as the dishes weren't being cleaned very well. Went to a powder. Bad: The cutlery cleaning is a little hit and miss. We cant put any more than 2 pieces in each compartment otherwise theyget particals of food baked onto them.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Love this one too.
Never owned a dishwasher before purchasing a 2 drawer integrated Fisher & Paykel in 2007 when we renovated our kitchen. I didn't really want a dishwasher but got talked into it. Now I don't know how I lived without it. I read all the negatives on this type of dishwasher and bought it anyway. Installed in 2007 and still operating without issue when we sold the house in 2016. No problems for us. Not a single one. Then we moved and ended up with a horrible old Dishlex (circa 2004) in the new house that chips the same plates that went into t...Read more
he Dishdrawer no problem. How can that be?? I hated that machine. It was a glorious day when we tipped it off the back of the ute at the dump! Couldn't wait to ditch it and go back to old faithful. Again we've got a Fisher & Paykel - not integrated, but just the stainless. Again, read the bad, awful reviews and got it anyway. No problems so far, though early days. I don't understand how so many people have had so many problems with a machine that I love so much. We are a household of only 2 and for us it is perfect. I only use Finish powder, never tablets and Finish rinse aid. I scrape the plates, but never rinse them. We fill it with what we can, and have never had any issues with either machine. I mostly use the fast cycle. Dishes come out dry and clean. The only major difference between the 2007 model and the recent purchase is just how quiet the new one is. I can't believe it. You can barely hear it run standing beside it. I'm sold again. I hope it continues to operate without issue.1 comment

Doesn't dry dishes
Having two smaller dish drawers is certainly suitable for some people, but you should be aware two things before deciding to buy a dish drawer.
It doesn't dry the dishes very well. Everything comes out clean but sopping wet and I have to dry everything with a tea towel every time I empty it. Even el cheapo dishwashers dry dishes better than this super expensive dish drawer.
You need to use powder for it to clean properly. This is a downside for me because I always end up spilling powder everywhere whenever I try to fill the compartment. Not suitable for people who are clumsy or are not good with their hands.

Wont dry dishes
This dishwasher is great for cleaning dishes but will not dry them. I have complained about it, but they say I am doing something wrong, wont tell me what.
Very frustrating as you have to dry them manually.
The two drawer option is a great idea and every thing else works fine.
I can fit more in the two drawers than I could in the old upright washer, and it fitted in the same cabinet space as the old one.

Worst piece of crap I ever purchased
Broken more often than it worked. After 2 years had enough.ended up in the trash. Very expensive and service was also expensive. They should be embarrassed to sell this junk. Bought a Samsung. No problems to date. Next time will read these reports. They acted surprised that anyone was having issues

Their service department is disappointing
Our dish drawer broke down and organised a service call. It took two and half weeks for someone to come out. Then the following day the error code appeared again and when I called customer service they told me I had to wait another two and half weeks for another service call. Very disappointed!

Great dishwasher
This dishwasher looks the part and cleans my dishes perfectly each time. It suits my bachelor lifestyle perfectly as I alternate between drawers as I use the cleaned dishes into the dirty drawer and vice versa. I never need to empty the contents into my kitchen cupboards because at any one time one drawer is the dirty drawer and one is the clean drawer.
When it's cleaning noise is a non issue, it's very quiet and I run it before I hop into bed each night. The plates and cups are always clean in the morning and the cutlery well honestly it's a bit hit and miss but usually it does the job.
This dual dishdrawer looks great teamed with my fisher and paykel french door fridge and my fisher and paykel oven.

A must In the kitchen
After recently moving house we purchased our third dishdrawer. I guess you either love them or hate them. I am a real fan. Being able to have two independent draws is very handy. We fill one draw up turn it on them start filling the other and so in. I find it washes extremely well and is very easy to operate also super quiet operation. I'm very happy with this model.

Very Pleased
Have only had this Dishwasher installed since July and so far very pleased with it. I have never been a big user of dishwashers but the idea of double drawers sounded perfect. To be honest though, I kept veering away from this design given the not so good reviews with these dish drawers.
I decided to bite the bullet when renovating my kitchen and go with this model which has been a pleasure to use. I guess time will tell but so far - so good.
Love how the door handles are now flush and not protruding like the older model.

Questions & Answers
Adelaideasked
Hello, my top drawer when open tilts and falls out! the only reason why it doesn't fall over is because of the bench it is under preventing it from falling. What has happened lately that hasn't happened the last 2 years for this to start occurring now?
1 answer
The screws that fasten the dishdrawer into the cabinet have fallen out.
The top drawer has a larger pivot distance from front feet.
Turn power off, remove bottom drawer, and insert new screws from the inside into cabinet.
Do not screw from cabinet into dishdrawer - you can damage the lid mechanism.

Hi,
Double draw dishDrawer dishwasher DD60DCX7 continuously makes noise for more than 12 hours after washing is complete. Any ideas?

Honestly? Dump it and get a new one. This model is beyond the worst dishwasher I have ever had. Once these things start they never stop and repairs quickly add up to more that what a new one is worth. It is likely the heater pump to dry not shutting off at the end of the cycle. Its just one of many issues I have experienced with this particular model.
The noise is the drying fan, it draws .12Watts and keeps air flow through the tub so that dishes dry and reduces smell from stagnant water.
it is normal.
Open drawer and it will stop.
