Continues to malfunction and service is very poor
Twice now it’s continued to run and we have to turn it off from the switch. The service team is impossible to get a hold of and always two weeks away. I bought all my appliances from F&P and there’s always a problem

Never cleans properly
I’ve stopped using the top drawer as the dishes are never cleaned, even when I rinse them before loading the machine. Now the bottom drawer is not cleaning. I’ve cleaned filters etc and use good quality dish tabs but it doesn’t make any difference. This is a pricey dishwasher which is about to be replaced for a single cavity LG dishwasher. I’ve recommended and used F&P appliances for many years with never a problem.

Can I give less than one star?
I feel like I have to wash my dishes by hand first to get a good wash from this dishwasher! This is the fourth dishwasher I’ve owned in 30 years and it is the worst. It is only 18 months old and I’m so disappointed. Expected to have super wash every time from such an expensive machine, but I think it is just a bad design. There is no spray arm above, as with standard dishwashers, so things rarely get cleaned up top. You can hardly fit anything in. Can’t wait to replace it. Don’t buy!
Purchased in August 2021 for $1,799.00.

Just Don’t !
This is the third and last unit I’ve bought over the last 12 years, and they just keep getting worse with each generation, not better as you would expect. I’ve run an Engineering team doing product development and I have to tell you that these guys have no idea about practical product design fit for purpose....this last one both handles broke off with normal daily use within 12months ! See the crappy
Tiny plastic tab in the photo !
The top draw door close detect failed within 6 months ! And the list of failures over that 12 years on the 3 units is too long to detail ! We are only a 3 person family and our water is very soft in southern Sydney so not heavy users, although 1 Drawer does go on daily at least

Don't buy Fisher and Paykel ever
We've had this for 3 years and have had nothing but problems with it. Motherboard needed replacing after 13 months, just out of warranty funnily enough. Similar issues again in July this year, and again 3 months later, now. The handles cracked within 6 the, the wire racks break easily, and zero support from Fisher and Paykel. Pay a little extra and get a Bosch, you won't regret it like I do.
Purchased in February 2021 at Appliances Online for $1,409.00.

Won't honour warranty, terrible customer service!
We built a new home with Metricon. We chose to pay extra for the Fisher Paykel integrated double dish drawer. We moved in May 2017 and dishwasher should be still covered under the 2 year warranty but because the builder installed the dishwasher 5 months earlier ( yes Metricon went months past due date to hand over) Fisher & Paykel won't honour the warranty. It has been used for less than 2 years and both drawers have the same problem of not draining water.
Under Australian Consumer Law this is not reasonable and they should fix the problem bu...Read more

Love the drawer style. Hate Fisher & Paykel terrible customer service and machine issues
I really love the drawer dishwasher. It's easy to use and performs ok. Nothing special but not too bad. Have had two issues and both times machine just needed a reset but Fisher & Paykel wouldn't help me over the phone or give me the reset info. SOOOOO FRUSTRATING. Christmas. They will only send out a tech I need to pay for. Tech is booked out cause I live in a country town. Fisher & Paykel won't tell me how to reset over the phone. AHHHHH This has happened twice now and wasted heaps of my time.

So far so good
We've been using it for about 6 weeks, and have had a number of guests in this time so it's had a fair workout, both drawers being used roughly 3 times each day. It hasn't caused any issues so far and has aside from extremely oily takeaway containers haven't had anything come out with residue (and even they were almost completely cleaned).

Huge Disappointment
It's our second F&P double dish drawer, first one lasted 8 years so we decided to purchase another. We have had it repaired 5 times due to faulty LCD screens and wiring. The top draw locked itself and wouldn't work, then the LCD screen went blank. Bottom draw LCD screen shone a blue light with no digital screen. We have (so far) been able to claim everything on warranty.

Good dishwasher, Very pleased with it
I have had this dishwasher for the last 5 years, and am very pleased with it. Of the two drawers we use the upper one 99% of the time as we are a family of 3. We use the second drawer only after parties when there are a lot of dishes.
Need to make sure that no dishes or spoons block the sprayer from spinning. I find finish detergent tablets work really well for me.
I bought the dishwasher from The GoodGuys for approx 1400 and was able to install it myself.
The running times seem quite long but i use the lowest ie 33 min and that works well for us.
We had one issue with a sensor for the top drawer which was fixed under warranty. This happened within the first year.

Broken down 4 x in 12 months
We renovated our kitchen 12 months ago and installed all new Fisher & Paykal appliances. We’ve been happy with all excluding the DishDrawer. For the 4th time in 12 months it’s broken down. When it is working it does not do as good a job as the old Dishlex we had previously - leaving food scraps, and not drying items properly. When the machine has broken, every time we have had to wait approx 2 weeks for a technician to come out. 4th time I told them I wasn’t settling for a “fix” but rather a replacement. They agreed after reviewing the case. Ho...Read more
wever I now have to sit at home for two days to wait for the new unit to be delivered on day 1, and a technician to come Day 2. I specially told F&P I wouldn’t be able to do this (as I work full time) and that they needed to arrange the things to occur on the same day, needless to say they were not accommodating. They would not put me through to a supervisor when I requested, and although I was told I’d get a call back I never did. Very frustrating experience! I hope our replacement machine is not a lemon.....Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

You don't get what you pay for with this one
Pros
-Double draw is great for a family; keep loading dirty dishes in one draw while the other draw is washing.
-Looks good
Cons
-So noisy. I try not to put it on when we have guests, the noises are embarrassing
-2 hour wash cycle (plus 2 hours of drying if you choose to listen to the fan)
-Dishes need to be washed thoroughly before loading them
-Cleaning needs to be performed regularly to remove scum and keep it running
-$2000 price tag. We've just moved house, and now have an old "Euro" dishwasher that costs around $450; it produces similar cleaning and drying results, but without the noise

Costly Poor Experience
We bought this dishwasher to replace the first F&P double drawer we owned. The old model was fantastic, so we upgraded when installing a new kitchen. While the double drawers are very convenient, not having to wait for a full machine to start a wash but that is the only positive thing I can say about the the product.
We have 4.5 year old machine that had 5 service call outs for leaking seals, faulty motherboard, water not draining, steam not escaping during the drying cycle thus causing all internal commentary to fail. The last straw was a ...Read more
water leak and the unit failing to stop. Had air fans running on my timber floors for 3 days to dry floorboard. F&P customer service is friendly to deal with but wait time we experienced for service technicians attending site was generally 5-7 working days irrespective of the issue. Summary, I would not recommend this product to any prospective buyer. It looks great but compromises a lot in terms of quality, reliability and finish. The F&P double draw is not a cheap dishwasher, for the same cost you can purchase prestige German brands that deliver a superior outcome. Expensive and unreliable.Similar opinion? Worked well for the last 6+ years
Not sure of correct model number
Does a decent job of washing dishes, but usually still quite wet when finished. Even with rinse aid and regular clean cycles, glasses are left streaky.
Biggest issue is it gets blocked very easily, and it is difficult to clear blockages.
It has served our family well, and been used at least twice a day for 6-7 years. We have only replaced a pump in each draw, which wasn’t overly expensive.
Difficult to get large items in.
I have been happy with the machine. When it comes time to replace it I would defin...Read more
itely buy Fisher & Paykel again, but as my family uses so many dishes I would probably get a normal dishwasher, not the dish draw. Simply because each draw uses a tablet or cleaner designed for a machine with twice the capacity. It would be nice to have more height.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great for couples
This 2 drawer unit is great for couples who do not manage to fill a 14 place dishwasher for a couple of days. Being able to have one drawer washing whilst filling the second is great. Each drawer may take a bit longer than normal but at least not all your cutlery and crockery is not locked away until finished

POOR QUALITY DRAW HANDLES
I have had issues with the draw handles cracking at the corners since i purchased this dishwasher. I have had FP come out three times to replace it and the first 2 installers couldn't understand Why the handle corner was chipping. The last person that came said its from the products im using to clean it. but really its just sponge and water. But now its chipped again and i made sure i used a separate cloth for the machine.
Now im stuck with an unsightly dishwasher that is only 3 yrs old. I asked them to change the handle type, but of course they wont do that. This was my first FP product. I wont be buying FP products anymore.

Good value for money
Dishes come out spotless every time if a good quality tablet is used.
Isn't any louder than other makes or models I've owned.
Only downfall is that the bottom drawer isn't as deep as the top drawer so our larger plates can only be cleaned in the top drawer.
Good product overall.

Terrific dishwasher
The model is now discontinued but it is an absolutely wonderful machine. we have never had an issue with it. purchased in 2014 - used every day as we are a family of 5. Not easy to stack pots but does clean very well. it is not as quiet as I would like but also too overly noisy.

Hate dishwasher.
Can't pack pots. Very noisy.
Water pump faulty while under warranty.
Water pump faulty just out of warranty.
Bottom draw don't drain water just out of warranty.
Timer on top draw faulty just out of warranty.
Fisher & Paykel had very poor customers service.
Will never purchase a Fisher & Paykel item again.

Great dishwasher
Cleans well once you know how to not stack dishes on top of each other.
Not very loud at all.
Top draw is very good at preventing you from bending over.
Does not require much cleaning at all, barely have to clean filters.
Was easy to install myself, without needing someone to come out.

My machine is 5 years old. Recently I have had trouble setting the machine. My regular setting is Fast and ECO 33 minutes. Lately when I press the middle button to start the cycle it displays I to 10 and does this several times before I hear the motor start. What if any does the lock system far right do?

Hi Janet,
We just had very bad experience from them. Any product might give you problems but it's about customer service and this is non excisting with them. They dont answer calls, return calls or keep you up to date. All of the best.
