Doesn't dry dishes
Having two smaller dish drawers is certainly suitable for some people, but you should be aware two things before deciding to buy a dish drawer.
It doesn't dry the dishes very well. Everything comes out clean but sopping wet and I have to dry everything with a tea towel every time I empty it. Even el cheapo dishwashers dry dishes better than this super expensive dish drawer.
You need to use powder for it to clean properly. This is a downside for me because I always end up spilling powder everywhere whenever I try to fill the compartment. Not suitable for people who are clumsy or are not good with their hands.

Maybe third time will prove acceptable
Built new house and installed a F&P double drawer dishwasher. We're now waiting on F & P of supply the third replacement in six years. The first machine worked OK but F&P sent all owners a recall notice to have the glitch fixed or get a new machine for half price. We stupidly took the second option and its been a nightmare ever since - should have stuck with the first one. The replacements have all suffered problems with the electronics control panel mainly for the upper drawer - the last replacement panel lasted 47 days before again failing. W...Read more
arranty covered supply of parts but not travel and installation (we live in regional NSW) and each visit was costing us nearly $200. They have now agreed to replace unit for nominal cost - was supposed to be supplied on the 23/11/15 and still no sign of it arriving (now 26/12) with a house full over Xmas its been an unmitigated disaster. Seems the left hand at F&P doesn't know what the right hand is doing. e.g.. The agent they nominated that would instal the replacement when contacted knew absolutely nothing about it and more to the point didn't service our area. The reason I can't give the model number is the top drawer will not open and am scared to power it up as it seems to have a problem that trips the circuit barker on the power circuit that its on so has some serious 240 volt type issue somewhere!!! The basic idea of the machine is good the implementation and durability is absolute crap. I gather F&P is now owned by a chinese company so hope they can help it get its act together but from previous experience I doubt this will be the case.Similar opinion? Wont dry dishes
This dishwasher is great for cleaning dishes but will not dry them. I have complained about it, but they say I am doing something wrong, wont tell me what.
Very frustrating as you have to dry them manually.
The two drawer option is a great idea and every thing else works fine.
I can fit more in the two drawers than I could in the old upright washer, and it fitted in the same cabinet space as the old one.

Worst piece of crap I ever purchased
Broken more often than it worked. After 2 years had enough.ended up in the trash. Very expensive and service was also expensive. They should be embarrassed to sell this junk. Bought a Samsung. No problems to date. Next time will read these reports. They acted surprised that anyone was having issues

Crap. Don't Buy One
We have owned a number of dishwashers over the years, this double dish drawer was the most expensive so I expected it actually work.
It doesn't.
You only have to have a spoon handle or plate edge slip through the cage and the arm won't go around, the whole cycle (water, power, tablet, and time) is wasted. You would this there would be an alarm of some type that would sound to say the arm is obstructed.
The lower drawer is so noisy, you can't have it on and be watching tv at the same time, and our kitchen is miles from the lounge!!
The SS face plates are both loose after coming unhooked at the bottom so now the front looks twisted.
This is only 3 years old and I'm looking to replace it.

still a fan after 10 years, wouldn't have anything else
absolutely love dish drawers! We've had them for over 10 years, from the first models, which were a bit temperamental and required lots of service calls (always free), to our current integrated model. I have four of them in my new kitchen. (family of 5, I love to cook, and we often entertain)
+ being able to pack one with just wine glasses, or just pots, and do a delicate wash in one and a heavy wash in the other is brilliant.
+ no nasty spills out the side like a "normal" dishwasher. before we renovated I had a cheap dw here and it was aw...Read more

very noisy
Cons : Is a good dishwasher, but is so noisy. I can hear it from upstairs in my 400 metre squared house. Noise is unbearable and sounds like a charft cutter at times.
Very poor build quality. plastic that scratches easy,
Pros: Washes dishes very well
would recommend buying if you like to replace them every year or so, product is not built to last long at all.

Great dishwasher but they had to send someone out to fix it within a month
Love this dishwasher. We have a gully kitchen so it is perfect as you don't have to bring the whole door down and people can get past easily.
Only one issue was that the top drawer element broke within the first month which was a little annoying, but they did send a technician to fix it straight away under warranty. We've now had it for a year and it's been perfect. Cleans very well.
It's also quiet and very simple to use.

Great cleaning machine.
I've had this dishwasher for about 3 years now and am still very happy with it. In the beginning it didn't seem to clean very well but after reading the manual I realised I was over crowding it when stacking, once I'd learnt how to stack it properly it's been great. I can fit more into the two drawers than I could in my old upright dishwasher.
I love the two drawer options so I can quickly wash plates and cutlery on a half hour clean and also put pots on a longer, hotter clean at the same time.
It has been the quietest dishwasher I've ow...Read more
ned, even on the longer pot and pan washes. All I hear is the swishing of water every now and then. I also like how easily the plate stands and cutlery holder come out so I can put in large items. Overall I'd happily recommend this dishwasher to anyone, I can't even think of any negatives even after 3 years of almost daily use.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Had two in two separate houses, love them!
Feels like quality, much sturdier than traditional rickety dishwashers. We use Eco and jam pack it (brush off dishes before loading) and we get a great clean. We use bottom drawer for all the pots from dinner and top drawer takes a full days dishes. Never had a single issue.

Their service department is disappointing
Our dish drawer broke down and organised a service call. It took two and half weeks for someone to come out. Then the following day the error code appeared again and when I called customer service they told me I had to wait another two and half weeks for another service call. Very disappointed!

Absolutely no complaints
We have had our double dishdrawer for going on 3 years, built in at a slightly higher level than normal . Easy to load, especially the top drawer, and quiet operation. We generally don't rinse plates unless they are very dirty, and use the fast (and eco) cycle with good results. We don't overload. We have 3 single dishdrawers in rental properties up to 6 years old with no problems reported. We are so pleased with the units that we will replace a 10 year old Westinghouse in another rental property with another double dishdrawer.

Absolute rubbish
These 2-drawer Fisher & Paykel dishwashers should be withdrawn from the market. They do not clean dishes properly, and they do not allow most main dishes to be used. We flogged ours after six months and have gone back to Asko which we love. We left ours in our last house and should have bought Asko again. Now we have.

Worst dishwasher ever had!!!
We purchased the latest 2 draw dishwasher brand new 6 months ago. The reason we chose F&P was because 2 others in my family had purchased F&P dishwashers in the paste. They were quiet machines, well built & lasted up to 10 years. So, we decided to get the 2 draw one as we had just moved house & needed to purchase a reliable one that would sterilise dishes due to starting chemo. Straight from the start we had problems with the dishes not being dried or cleaned properly. My other concern was that the temperature was not hot enough to sterilise th...Read more
e dishes. We contacted the rep a couple of times who came out & said that the reason it wasn't cleaning & drying the dishes properly was that we needed to use rinse aid. Then when we were still having problems with the temperature not being hot enough, even when I put a plastic disposable cup to see if it would melt, it came out as I had put it in, which I might add any other dishwasher would have melted. The next time the rep came out I explained about the temperature not being hot enough, his reply was that this newer model had been designed to run optimal efficiency. My reply to that was what's the point if it doesn't sterilize the dishes, he then ran a test to test the temperature. Yet the test he ran he didn't run the fill cycle he stopped it when it got to 50 deg & said that was OK & that he didn't have the time to run the full cycle amusing it would get up to 70 deg if he did. My response was that the test proved nothing & it was a waste of time unless he was going to do it properly. The service was not helpful at all. They would not admit that this dishwasher didn't work as it was advertised. F&P have it totally wrong they have compromised the so-called efficiency of the machine to the point that it doesn't do what it was designed to do: clean & sterilise dishes! Up till now, we have been too busy to take it further due to my illness. I will be doing something about it now.1 comment

Don't go there!
Gross. Doesn't clean the dishes well, so hard to pack anything a bit larger in such as bigger knives. Forget trying to put a few pots in.
Have to pull apart and clean, very often. Leaves a pool of water at the bottom of the drawer. Would never install one of these!!

Will buy again
Have had the double drawer model since 2002. I purchased it because it could be completely hidden behind 2 cabinet (albeit custom) panels. I found we tended to use the top drawer and rarely the bottom. We found it much less wear & tear on our somewhat older bodies than the conventional style dishwasher that we had in our previous home. The major asset: no bending (at least for the top drawer).
It is quieter than our previous standard model. It cleans just as well however we do not use the ECO program and we rinse larger food globs before put...Read more
ting dishes in. Over 13 years, we have had about half-a-dozen service calls which have totaled about the original cost of the dishwasher. Overall, the cost of owning the F&P dish-drawer seems to be about twice that of a traditional design. Would we do it again? For sure. But this time would mount two independent drawers -- one on each side of the sink. Summary: The best no bending!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Delighted with Service - happy with product
I had a two-drawer Fisher and Paykel dishwasher which died after many years of faithful service. It was so nifty and reliable that I got another one. The dishracks in the new machine broke quickly and were all just a bit flimsy. I was disappointed, but the machine worked well and I couldn't be bothered making a complaint. Now, nearly six months out of warranty, the bottom dishdrawer in the new machine broke down. When I rang to organise repair, I complained about the flimsy dishracks, even though I accepted that the manufacturer had no obl...Read more
igation to do anything about that. The repairs were undertaken quickly by a pleasant fellow at a very reasonable price and, the following day (today), an unsolicited package arrived from Fisher & Paykel containing all new dish racks. I'm delighted and want to share the joy.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great dishwasher
This dishwasher looks the part and cleans my dishes perfectly each time. It suits my bachelor lifestyle perfectly as I alternate between drawers as I use the cleaned dishes into the dirty drawer and vice versa. I never need to empty the contents into my kitchen cupboards because at any one time one drawer is the dirty drawer and one is the clean drawer.
When it's cleaning noise is a non issue, it's very quiet and I run it before I hop into bed each night. The plates and cups are always clean in the morning and the cutlery well honestly it's a bit hit and miss but usually it does the job.
This dual dishdrawer looks great teamed with my fisher and paykel french door fridge and my fisher and paykel oven.

Not Worth The Money!
I have had my F&P two draw dishwasher for just over two months (DD60DDFX7). Paid $1750 for it brand new and I am very disappointed. First of many issues is it's inability to wash dishes. I constantly have dirty dishes (freshly dirty, nothing heavy duty or baked on). Forget the quick wash, it wont even clean a glass that had Coke in it. Dishes do not dry and come out wet (I have been using Finish brand rise aid as suggested by F&P). If you use a tablet (which I do and use Finish brand) the tablet does not dissolve but goes all manky and sits in...Read more
the basket still whole (think this is why the dishes are dirty) The "normal" cycle takes ages and the "heavy" cycle even longer (and still no clean dishes). My standard dinner plates do not fit in the top drawer only the bottom. This is due to a rubber lip that is only on the top draw and the plates get caught on it. Obviously having two draws means you are going to use double the amount of tablets, I was happy for this extra expense thinking my life was going to be made easier...I was wrong. I now have to scrape my dishes, rinse then dry by hand...easier and cheaper to just wash by hand. Another issue is the rubber surrounds are constantly wet and never dry out, so I feel this is going to be a mould and smell problem in the very near future. I have only just been in contact with F&P so cannot comment on the customer service...I think it will not go well. Overall, don't bother with this dishwasher. PRO'S - It looks nice.Similar opinion? No problems at all with the much maligned F&P dual drawer dishwasher
We have had the F&P DD60DCW7 "Classic" dual drawer dishwasher for nearly 2 years now and are very happy with it. It was delivered and installed by F&P's own technicians who were excellent. The User Guide for the dishwasher was very comprehensive.
We take care to follow the recommendations about stacking and packing the dishwasher, and rinsing off solid food residues - this all takes a little longer but is well worth it.
The F&P technicians said we should use the bottom drawer at least once a week (which we do), to keep the seals etc in go...Read more
od working order. This presumes that people use the top drawer more often, which we do because it is easier to reach into. Although one of the F&P technicians said we should use powder detergent, the other said we could drop a detergent tablet in the cutlery basket with the little slotted compartment cover in place (middle of the basket). We do the latter and have never used the detergent dispenser built into the door. The User Guide says you can use powder OR tablet, as long as the tablet does not come into contact with dishes or cutlery. We make sure that the cutlery basket compartment holding the detergent tablet, is not obstructed by cutlery etc, The User Guide says the tablet should be placed on top of the slotted cover but putting it underneath it in the compartment works just fine for us. We have been using top quality FInish and Fairy dishwasher tablets, which we buy up when they come on "special" at the supermarket. We have never used the Aldi brand of dishwasher tablet but this may be OK too. Powder may be cheaper but tablets are more convenient - there is also no problem with the detergent dispenser door not opening due to obstruction, and/or not being washed out properly. We also use Finish rinse aid. We live in Brisbane and have not had to use a water softener.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

My machine is 5 years old. Recently I have had trouble setting the machine. My regular setting is Fast and ECO 33 minutes. Lately when I press the middle button to start the cycle it displays I to 10 and does this several times before I hear the motor start. What if any does the lock system far right do?

Hi Janet,
We just had very bad experience from them. Any product might give you problems but it's about customer service and this is non excisting with them. They dont answer calls, return calls or keep you up to date. All of the best.

cleaned properly would be due to using the Eco cycle & that domestic machines do not sterilize dishes. My response to that was that I never use the Eco cycle & only use the Heavy Cycle. Maybe my use of the word sterilize was inappropriate, all I know is that there are still germs on dishes that haven't been cleaned properly! The final outcome to this conversation was that we should go back to Harvey Normans as we are still in in our 1st years warranty & exchange the dishwasher due to it not being suitable for the job we purchased it for (washing dishes clean). F&P stand by this dishwasher & will not admit fault in this product what so ever, all I can say is to anyone who is looking at buying a F&P draw dishwasher to stay clear of Model; DD60DCW7 2 DRAW DISHWASHER. As it is not a cheap product to purchase, in this case you don't always get what you pay for.
