So far so good
WashSmart WA7060G1 (7kg)We got this replacement after our second Samsung replacement was replaced. We opted to go with F&P this time and so far are very happy with this machine. The clothes seem to come out feeling cleaner with the full size agitator. We like the fact that a heavy wash takes only 47 minutes. Machine is nice and quiet and the options are easy to use. All in all, seems to be a very nice machine. Time will tell as to whether its' reliability is ok as we have only had it for a month.
The Good Guys had the new one delivered within a couple of hours - great service from them re this Samsung nightmare.

WashSmart WA80T65GW1 (8kg)This machine Works absolutely perfect every time and if anyone says otherwise well you just dont have a glue its washers ever so quiet and never gone wrong
Quick wash is gr8
Saves lots of water
Thank Fisher and paykel for the best washing machine that I have ever had
Biggest piece of junk
WashSmart WA80T65GW1 (8kg)I will NEVER buy another Fisher Paykel washing machine it is the worst piece of junk I have ever brought. There so called built in lint system is rubbish this machine puts crap all over your clothes does not wash properly, it tears clothes, etc. I use liquid washing powder to see if that fixed the problem but didn't. The best thing for this machine is burn it, would not recommend any Fisher Paykel washing machine to buy EVER.
Show detailsVery pleased
WashSmart WA80T65GW1 (8kg)I bought this washing machine after several 'months' of reviewing peoples opinions about different machine types.
It really does come down to what you use it for. We have downsized from our previous large manual industrial versions simply because we are not out bush or on mines anymore, do not have young kids in the mix (very often) and generally our loads are not overly dirty.
I still wanted a machine that I could manually override and you can do it with this one. I do not like the water wise options, I feel they are useless and a gimmi
... Read moreck. And overall from my past experiences and from current views, I still prefer the agitator. I dislike front loaders immensely...my daughter loves hers. I dislike not being able to adjust through a load, the time they take is ridiculous and the power consumption. Don't care what anyone says, if it takes 2 hours it is not that practical - is it? My clothes and hubbys (tradie) come out clean. If there is lint on anything it is because a tissue has been overlooked in a pocket. I have only on one occasion had the tangling that some have talked about...think it was with a load of single sheets. My office clothes go in a bag so they come out fine. I have seen no obvious wear and tear. The machine is quiet enough but then it is not in the lounge room either. Spin cycle is great, has variables. So no, despite being concerned about the many pro's and con's, I have made a great choice for us. This machine gets used 4-7 times per week. I can adjust the water temp, the water height, the rinse time, any part of the cycle really. It was the best from the overwhelming options and opinions of customers and sales people. It cost me $600 and I have had it for just over 2 years. With no problems. Very happy with this choice ..though a moot point as it appears to be discontinued?Find out how Fisher & Paykel WashSmart Top Loader compares to other Top Loading Washing Machines

(10kg) Major fault died four and a half months after expiry of 2 yr warranty - estimated cost to run
WashSmart WA8060G1 (8kg)Should have been called WashDumb! I echo all the detailed complaints described in previous critical reviews. A fool of a machine and expensive to run. The operator has no control of it. If you need a hard-working machine then I recommend that you delete this model from your list of choices and don't believe Fisher and Paykel's claims with regard to other models. Harvey Norman pushed this on me and also sold me their $150 Product Care Plan which was supposed to cover it for 60 months from purchase. After the expiry of its 24 month statutory warr

WashSmart WA65T60GW1 (6.5kg)A good machine all round BUT there appears to be a common fault #48 or #49 (Hot and Cold water diverter), However fault could just as easily be circuit board as well, shame after being around for so long these types of problems have not been ironed out! Will be going back to the non computer type, as not good enough in this day and age.
Show detailsMy washing down the drain
WashSmart WA55T56GW1 (5.5kg)I bought a brand new F&P washing machine and when I got it home and opened the box you would have thought I bought a second hand machine, the bowl was all diss colored and stained, then I saw the huge dent in the front of the machine... I contacted F&P and after 45mins on hold a person told me I would have to send a email to customer service, I sent a email along with pictures and after a few weeks they finally decided to replace it... I took the machine back to place of purchase but the new machine hadn't arrived yet, I live in a rural area so
... Read more it was a 130km round trip each time, the machine arrived and I again drove to the store picked it up and when I unpacked it it was smashed in at the back it actually looked like a car hit it, I contacted F&P and by this stage I was getting pretty angry as you would think they would of made sure everything was perfect seeing as it was a replacement, so I took it back again and by this stage I had travelled over 520km back and forth and no machine, I asked F&P to deliver the next machine and their reply was "our drivers don't go that far".... Now I was fuming because it was ok for me to drive all these km's, when I took the 2nd machine back I just got a refund and after several weeks F&P told me "quote".... We will give you a full refund and you can go purchase another brand machine.... This was from the customer service supervisor at F&P... So if you think customer service is important when buying a washing machine then totally avoid Fisher& Paykel otherwise all you will get is a huge headacheI can do without this
WashSmart WA55T56GW1 (5.5kg)I purchased my third washing machine 12months ago and sorry to say very disappointed. It is not the same quality as it leaks and it seems to be much slower although it washes well. I would call it a lemon and I would not recommend it. My machine seems to be flimsy...completely different to my previous Fisher Paykel washing machines.
Efficient and Slimline Washer
WashSmart WA8060G1 (8kg)Washes,cleans and rinses clothes well.Clothes don't wear out as machine quite gentle. The motor is not loud, even when it spins. My favourite features are the soft close lid, the safety of the kid lock lid and the slimness of the machine.Agitator comes apart for cleaning, enabling you to keep your machine clean and fresh.

Do not buy this machine
WashSmart WA8060E1 (8kg)I use to have a Fisher & Paykal 7.5kg top loader so when it needed replacement I upgraded to a Fisher & Paykal 8.5kg top loader. Big mistake!! Every time I was my towels the machine goes off balance & I end up having to rinse the suds out of the towels & ringing them out myself. I don't have time for this. I have tried putting in less towels same result machine is always off balance & re-sets itself to the 32 minute mark. I wish I'd never brought my machine. If you don't have time to hand wash then do not buy this machine! Fisher & Paykal lover no more!!
Fisher & Paykal were suppose to come today but they didn't due to some system error!
Lint always on the dark wash
WashSmart WA8060G1 (8kg)Very unhappy with the lint, hairs etc that do not come off the clothes. I have had the technician out who was rude and basically told me it was my fault which it isn't. I have noted that there are many other people that have the same problem. I can not get the clothes lint free and have tried everything I can think of. Washing the clothes twice as I'm doing does not get the lint off. Wouldn't buy this machine again.
I hate it
WashSmart WA80T65GW1 (8kg)My clothes aren't being cleaned properly, so I have to run them through twice to rinse well. It was sold as having the ability to stop going out-of-balance, which it does not have. There is NOTHING I like about it. It is constantly out-of-balance and thumping into the walls or beeping to tell me it is out of balance. My honest advice is do not buy one. I miss my Simpson so badly. I am ready to drag it out of my house and light a fire in it because it won't stop the horrible beeping.

poor quality controll
WashSmart WA75T65GW1 (7.5kg)Quiet motor washes well however after 2 years the controll module fried itself and was replaced under warranty. Just after the warranty run out it happened again and cost us $200 dollars for a reprogrammed controll module due to the fact many where faulty from factory. 12 months later its happened again! Will never buy again
Best washing machine ever
WashSmart WA7060G1 (7kg)It always does a good job purchased in August 2014 and is far better than our previous machine which was far too loud clothes are never tangled i love the eco and Quick Wash option because they save water i also love how you can also select favourite by just pushing power and favourite then start. The only downside I have to the machine is that it unbalances a lot but it is still a great machine.
Show detailsTangles clothes and agitator fins broke off
WashSmart WA70T60GW1 (7kg)This machine has always tangled clothes badly and now the agitator fins have broken after 4 years. Looks like it is due to the constant flexing. We mainly use it on the water smart setting which is likely to increase wear and tear on the fins, but if that is the cause, then it is surely a design fault. Based on other reviews we are not sure if it is worth replacing the agitator or buying a new machine. we are unlikely to buy another F&P.
Recommend this machine
WashSmart WA8060E1 (8kg)Hi, we had a fisher & Paykel 7.5kg top loader machine for approx. 15 years until a bearing went on the shaft and was too expensive to repair. Our repair man recommended a fisher & Paykel machine as maintenance call out problems are much less than other machines. Yes, ware and tare problems over time will need maintenance. The machine is very quite, has a timer and wash countdown time. Very happy with the machine, more important the wife is happy. Happy wife happy life.
So far love this machine
WashSmart WA8060G1 (8kg)We had a 7kg LG washer dryer hated this machine nearly every wash it would unbalance, the wash cycles so long and we kept seeing white streaks on the clothes, after 5 years we decided enough was enough and purchased the Fisher & Paykel( not this model of course but we were looking at the F & P then but was talked into the LG) now this machine is the opposite to the LG, So far 6 months down the track not once has it gone off balance, the wash programmes quicker and cleaner than the LG.
The only fault if you can call it a fault is that you can
Small loads only - always unbalanced
WashSmart WA8060G1 (8kg)At the end of the day, the clothes are cleaner than when they went in, and that's about it. This machine is constantly over balancing. At best you can load it up with about 2kg, and that's on medium spin - don't even think about fast!
Very disappointed as our old 4.5kg (I think that was the size) could be loaded up to its full capacity.
The pump
WashSmart WA80T65GW1 (8kg)This machine does wash well but the pump constantly gets clogged up with threads etc. I have had the serviceman out 3 times to clean it out ($140). I have learned to do it myself now. Never buy this brand again. Not happy at all. I had hatachi before, it was excellent.
Couldn't be happier!
WashSmart WA8060G1 (8kg)Previously I had a Fisher & Paykel Aquasmart that I wasn't impressed with. Its power board died (was quoted $300 to repair) so after much research I purchased the WA8060g1 for $699 on special at the Good Guys. This was $100 cheaper than at Harvey Norman. This model meant reverting back to a gentle middle agitator which IMHO works better than the ' toss & tangle your clothes in a tad of soapy water' flat agitator.
This machine does everything I could ask for; washes & cleans well ( make up stains on collars disappear during washing); there's no
Great Machine...but
WashSmart WA7060E1 (7kg)I just wanted to write a review on this washing machine as I wish I could of known this before purchase.. This machine washes really well.. No complaints there, but... (as there always is!), you cannot open the machine during cycles to add to machine or add fab softener or vinegar if you forget. Pain! However, I did come across a great little tip to stop lint accumulating on your clothes. Fisher & Paykel have a Lint Filter basket that goes into the agitator and you have to clean after each wash. Really excellent. The Lint Filter number is 42651P, Costs about $35.95+postage of $8.95. I'm sure you will find this helpful. My husband wears contacts and can't have fluff on towels, so this little gem perfect.
Do NOT buy this product! extended warranty crap!
WashSmart WA80T65GW1 (8kg)Purchase this in 2013, kept it clean. Broke down just before ester holidays, 2016. Called them straight away, have to wait 3 weeks before someone can come and look at it? Spent $40 at laundry mat on 6 x loads. Have an extended warranty, but only come twice a week in my area, for a morning. Last time the same thing happened, didn't drain and agitator didn't work. Not helpful, will try a different brand next time!!!! Do not buy!
Garbage
WashSmart WA80T65GW1 (8kg)Absolute crap never buying F&P again. Machine 2 yrs old, agitator fins all broken off, stains the clothes, leaves lint over everything,I have pulled it apart and put the springs back several times because it tries to spin itself out the back door !! Last machine we had was a Samsung and lasted roughly 12 yrs only replaced it cause the lid had rusted.
best washer ever
WashSmart WA70T60GW1 (7kg)Bought a second hand f& p washer and dryer in2007 ....washer went for five years then died so impressed went and bought a new one in 2012 and it hasn't skipped a beat..and, the dryer is still going just as well as when I bought it second hand working family both machines used daily.. Thanks Fisher and Pykel
Better than others
WashSmart WA80T65GW1 (8kg)I purchased this machine in 2012, still going well and i have had no issued to date, though i prefer to choose my own water level as it gives a better rinse than the auto cycle wash.Last night I have noticed that the agitator fins have broken, but not snapped off completely. We had purchased it through the Good Guys and did buy an extended warranty, which i will be calling on Monday( business hours ), to see if they come good. I did notice after googling that this appears to not be an isolated case, but if it gets fixed i am happy. Much prefer this machine than the front load LG i gad which always smelt and took way to long to wash.
Poor quality control has impacted this model
WashSmart WA80T65GW1 (8kg)I have my second of these machines currently. Our first machine of this model consistently had trouble spinning with error codes beeping with every wash, and the spring clip on the side of the bowl which balances the bowl in spin mode was forever coming off. To be brutally honest we had so many repair callouts for the same issue I didnt ring F&P every time as by then I'd learnt how to dismantle the machine and fix the common issues through watching the F&P repair man.
The first machine was finally and reluctantly taken away by F&P when aft
Is not built to last
WashSmart WA7060G1 (7kg)The washing machine has been great washing my clothes, is very quiet and is great that you can adjust the water level. I have never had a problem with this machine but am very disappointed that it has only lasted just over 4 years! Will cost over $300 to repair and then only has a 12 month warranty. Can buy another machine for a bit more money. Thanks Fisher & Paykel for allowing me to NOT help reduce the landfill.
Early failure - motor controller blew up
WashSmart WA80T65GW1 (8kg)I am extremely disappointed that this machine failed after only 4 years. It still looks brand new. My last machine lasted 17 years. It started playing up with the power going off during washing. A few trips of RCD and now it blew up the motor controller. Seems to be a very common problem with this type of machine.
Crap washing machine. Will. Never ever buy F&P again!
WashSmart WA70T60GW1 (7kg)Yes I agree i hate my fisher and Paykel washing machine. Will never ever buy FP anything again. It leaves lint all over clothes. I flush my machine with hot water and finish dish washing powder every 2-3 washes and the lint is still a big problem! F &P is absolute crap!
Two major Issues to be aware of
WashSmart WA8060G1 (8kg)I bought this machine about 6 months ago and think future buyers should be aware of 2 issues that really annoy me.
1. There is only one solenoid (for tap opening and closing), which means that warm water CAN NOT fill the machine as only one tap can be open at a time. If you choose "warm" you will get alternating hot and cold water. I put my hand under the water (to rinse off some detergent) and was scalded as the hot was running. If you put delicates into the machine be aware that they will be covered with very hot water before any cold gets
... Read more added. 2. This machine goes off balance very easily and always with a load of sheets or towels. If you like to put a load of washing on, go out and then come home to hang it out - forget it. The machine will be full of soggy clothes, the load not spun and the machine will have bounced its way across the laundry floor. I will NEVER buy another one!!Love it!
WashSmart WA70T60GW1 (7kg)After reading reviews on this page I decided to go for the WashSmart.
I've now had my machine for seven months and have found it very quiet, unlike two Simpson's I've had that make a loud bang as they go into the next cycle, and then gives 5 beeps when the wash has finished.
I had read that some people found spin cycles in their machines were sometimes too fast and damaged their clothes.. Armed with this information I noticed that my "Normal" wash was set with a super-fast spin cycle. With the press of a couple of buttons I easily re-
... Read moreprogrammed it to always use medium - which can easily be altered for one wash, without changing permanently if I choose. It even has a custom button, so I can program my own choices, such as: water temp, spin speed, etc. It also has pause and soak timings. Haven't found a down side to this machine.Never had a problem with this machine ( touch wood)
WashSmart WA70T60GW1 (7kg)I have found over the 3 years I have had and used almost daily, absolutely no problems with this machine.
It does what its meant to do. Its cleans and rinses clothes. Have not noticed any wearing-out of clothes and am presently looking to buy another for another house we are furnishing.
Very poor design
WashSmart WA80T65GW1 (8kg)Have had a F&P 8kg machine for about 3 years. Have found 2 faults and F&P are not interested in solving. Firstly, if the eggcup shaped softener holder flips upside down (don't try this) on top of the agitator by mistake, it will fall down the agitator and you have all chance of getting out...i rang F&P and pretty much they didn't believe me and they reluctantly organised a service call under warranty. However, after farting around with it, i managed to use a steel coat hanger to remove the holder... NIce one F&P...
Secondly, they seem to think
Fin problems
WashSmart WA75T65GW1 (7.5kg)My washing machine is 5 years old in June 2016. The machine itself is ok but this is the second agitator because the fins have broken. Notice my machine is now discontinued, but I wouldn't buy another Fisher & Paykel. They seem to work ok for a while and then they fail. e.g. draining and connection problems.
Facts on F&P washers
WashSmart WA70T60GW1 (7kg)All F&P washing machines are covered with a 2 year warranty, including agitator.
The lint filter is the whole bowl itself - water, with lint, flows down through the base and comes in via the outside of the bowl.
Any lint is trapped outside the holes on the side of the bowl ( a huge lint filter).
During a spin cycle the water going through the side of the bowl picks up the lint and flushes it out the drain.
If towels have lint or are crunchy and stiff then too much detergent is being used.
Take a towel with lint and do another rinse and c
Agitator fins broken
WashSmart WA70T60GW1 (7kg)We have had this machine not quite 4 years and the agitator fins have broken off and one of them has split in half. The split fin is ruining lots of clothes and pulling threads on the towels etc. I didn't realise it was a design fault until my motherinlaw, who has exactly the same machine, said that her agitator fins had broken too. Her machine is only 12 months old.
Very happy
WashSmart WA80T65GW1 (8kg)We bought this washing machine almost a year ago and have had no problems with it. The clothes come out clean and undamaged. It is not too noisy when operating and spins adequately. It replaced my last Fisher and Paykel which lasted around ten years. I would recommend it to others.

WashSmart WA80T65GW1 (8kg)This machine is just under 2.5 years old and this morning it tripped our entire power out in our household. The machine now has no power to it at all. Its well and truly blown up. This is so disgusting. My previous machine last over 15 years. What a poor made product and looking at the reviews it clearly is poorly made. How can you sell a product with so many known faults. I can also see that hardly any reviews have had any response by Fisher and Paykel themselves. Clearly poor products backed up by poor quality customer service. DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE!
Great machine.
WashSmart WA80T65GW1 (8kg)So often people only post reviews if they have a problem, so this is the balancer. We've had this machine for about eight months and it's a fantastic washer. Clothes come out clean and well spun. We've only ever had a lint problem on one occasion and that was the result of a tissue left in a pocket. It's great not ever having to clean clogged filters. Love this machine.
Very poor product
WashSmart WA70T60GW1 (7kg)I have had a few Fisher and Paykel Washers of the last 20+ years and this one is the worst of the all. I am up to my second agitator in 2 years, the fins on the first one broke after just 9 months and fisher and paykel refused to warrant the replacement of the agitator stating it was 'General wear and tear', I had to fork out over $80 for a replacement one from fisher and paykel and now 18 months later I am having to replace it yet again as the fins have snapped off. I use the Auto-water fill option on the machine for all clothes, but adjust
... Read morethe water level for towels, sheets, etc. Doona's and such I take to the laundromat for washing. I have spoken to fisher and paykel and their customer service is terrible, putting the blame back onto the user. Though I have looked up common faults for the machine and the defective fins top the list. Am never purchasing another fisher and paykel appliance again after this one, they have lost my loyalty to their products after the very poor customer service and misleading information.Extra Information
