Awesome machine
Awesome machine that's quiet and cleans clothes very well. Love the handwash option along with the ability to add additional rinses to a cycle. I like the options available, makes it easy to make sure each load is handled exactly how it needs to be. It doesn't take long and clothes wash perfect . Has great energy and water saving efficiency. Would definitely recommend this washer .
It's lock system is not that good can be unlocked so easily, not a machine in little kids houses.

Faulty design - poor electronics
When it works this washing machine washes great. I'm now on my third service call and it's all the electronics which are failing. Please don't bother with F&P service as they aren't worried about helping you. Should have stuck with my ugly old Euromaid 8kg washing machine which didn't miss a beat.

This is perfect can't live without it
I use this machine daily for all kinds of clothing particularly delicates which the machine has a special cycle. A 15 min cycle is very useful for small loads or not so dirty washing. A heavy cycle is useful for washing doonas or pillows.can be programmed with timer delay to use off peak water and electricity

More Pros than Cons
I bought the 8kg washer instead of 7kg size because I prefer hot & cold connections to an inbuilt heater. The panel is very user friendly with many options...love the ability to add items during the cycle & washing is clean with minimal wrinkles for all textiles...overall I really like the machine except for the filling which stops and starts which is annoying.

Looks amazing
Very quiet and cleans clothes amazingly. It has taken a while for us to realise but we couldn’t work out why our washing was coming out so hot and very creased when we had the hot water tap turned off, our hoses were on the wrong taps

Does it's job
F&P never fails have had no problem with it since purchased, and now that we have a newborn I use it almost every other day to wash the never ending laundry! It's quite enough that it doesn't wake up the baby when in use, and I like the reminder it gives when a drum clean is due. Here's hoping it will keep going strong for a few more years!

Quiet! Washes well too
I actually had to check that the machine was working when we installed it and ran the first wash... it was such a big difference to our old front loader (which served us well). After starting to do our washing with it I noticed a difference to how clean the clothes would come out. I’m a cloth nappy Mum and so I can do these with a pre-wash and an extra rinse cycle for my bubs easily and they come out great! We’ve had this machine since January and we are now about to replace the dryer with a f&p condenser dryer.

Excellent machine
Top marks for this Fisher and Paykel washing machine. My husbane went to JB HI FI and was given no assistance so he wrnt to Harvey Norman. They recommended the Fisher and Paykel Smart wash. Easy to use, quiet and does an excellent job. Harvey Norman Townsville staff couldnt be more helpful. It was delivered, installed and old one removed for $50. One very happy customer!

Brilliant washing machine
Washes and rinses the clothes brilliantly, even on the super quick cycles. The spin is great on it so most of the moisture is removed. It's not overly loud and the finishing chime is short and not intrusive, but sometimes you might miss it. Perfect size, you can fit a whole quilt in it.

So Happy
This is the first front loader I have ever purchased, and I love it. Its so simple to use and has a variety of different settings. Everything comes out so clean and I feel confident putting delicate items in it as they can't catch on anything or be damaged. I love that it is energy and water saving and the add garment function is a great feature as well. Very happy with my purchase.

I love it!
I purchased this washing machine in October 2017 after much research. I had intended to buy it a year before, but found that a lot of people were complaining of leaks. I thought I would wait until that problem had been sorted out by the manufacturer, which I am sure has been done because my machine is wonderful and so far, has no leaks. It washes and rinses really well, is extremely quiet, even when spinning and very easy to use. It has many washing cycles and you can also adjust water temperature and spin speed. It even has an Add a Garme...Read more
nt feature, but I haven't needed to use this yet. I tend to use the Everyday cycle the most, but adjust the water temperature down to 30C instead of their 40C. It does take 58 minutes, but is shorter than some of the other cycles. The machine connects to hot and cold water. The buttons are soft touch and easy to use. It even gives me a signal when the wash is finished. It is quite gentle on the clothes and after hanging them on the line, I don't need to iron them. I did want to buy the 8.5 kg model, but Harvey Norman only stocked the 8kg model, so went with this. So far this seems to be adequate for my needs. There was a long delay in getting it because Harvey Norman put the wrong number in their order and didn't follow up when the machine didn't come. It was worth waiting for though.Similar opinion? Amazing self thinking Machine
Looove all the options. Some days I load it up press one button and its away. Other times with my expensive clothes I use the options that ensure the machine looks after my delicate items of clothes. Its quiet, compact and fits in easy in my laundry. Its a great product.

Great Washing machine for the price.
Love how quiet the machine is. We had an initial problem with vibration on the 1400 spin cycle. But to the credit of Harvey Norman, they quickly replaced the machine.I find it still does vibrate a bit on the 1400 spin, that's the reason I don't give it 5 stars. But love the quick wash and add an extra garment feature. Highly recommend

Best washer I have had so far...
i bought this machine 3 weeks ago after I had to give borrowed Asko back to my sister. Let me tell you it is probably the best washing machine i have had to date. It is super quiet, has multiple wash cycles-from short to long ones, energy and water efficient and my clothes come out super clean. Best money I have spent so far...

Love my new machine
Have only just purchased my Fisher & Paykel Washsmart Front Loader and very happy with it. Washes well and very quiet and looks great. Has a Samsung before and happy with that one but the WashSmart is easier to use and seems to be gentler on my clothes, especially delicates. Love the extra quick 15 minute cycle I can have a load done in no time and be off to the beach. Does a great job on the heavy soiled garments as well. Highly recommend this machine.

Miele = second to none!
I can't recommend this brand of washing machine more highly. I will always buy a Miele front loader, although I doubt I will need to for another 20 years anyway. Miele are just top of the line. And a front loader is the best way to wash your clothes and not ruin them.

This is perfect
I love this washing machine. I had never owned a front load washing machine before so was quiet sceptical, but now we have had this for 12 months and I love it. It rinses well and spins amazingly. It uses less water than a top load washing machine and I think it is just perfect!

How to remove the lower front kick plate
3 answers
You should only remove the cover for the filter, which is a small plate not the whole kickplate.
A coin or screw driver will help remove.
I need to remove the whole plate as the
drain rubber hose has slipped inside the the machine.

I power on then try to select cycle by turning knob however machine turns off. Sometimes I will move to cycles other times several. No error code on display.
