Spare Triggerhead turbine heads are certainly available and can be purchased via this link: https://shop.dyson.com.au/spare-parts/triggerhead-923181-03

That being said, we do encourage running through the troubleshooting if yours isn't working as you'd expect. You can find the troubleshooting for this here: https://www.dyson.com.au/SupportHome/Vacuums/Cylinders/DC39/22411-01/troubleshooting/check-the-floor-tool

If we can assist further, our Dyson Experts are available via [email protected] and we are only happy to help.

Does anyone know which head attachment for the Dc39 you use for high pile carpet?

While we would encourage contacting your flooring manufacturer for their advice, the Musclehead or Turbine head provided with your DC39 machine is designed to provide powerful carpet cleaning.

If you find it isn't working as you'd expect, or you have any queries, our Dyson Experts are available via [email protected] and only happy to help.

Juliane K.
Juliane K.

The head that comes with the Dyson dc39, absolutley is not for high pile carpet. The brush almost stops, and you cannot push the vacuum over the carpet freely without struggle. This head is more for low pile, to burbur, to hard floors. There is no adjustment for higher thicker pile carpeting.

So we can further assist, we would encourage emailing our Dyson Experts via [email protected] and we will be happy to help.

We also encourage contacting your flooring manufacturer to confirm their advice on what style floor tool would be best for your specific carpets.

The 2 rotors on the small attachment for animal hair on dc39 aren't spinning. Can you tell me how to rectify this?

1 answer
Dyson
Dyson Team ..Dyson

As the turbine head is driven by suction power, this can often occur if there is a lack of airflow through the machine.

We would kindly ask you to review the troubleshooting below which should help:

Can you use the soft roller cleaner head with DC39?

1 answer
Dyson
Dyson Team ..Dyson

Hi Nelda,

Thank you for your query, we are happy to help.

Apologies for any disappointment, however the Soft Roller Cleaner Head is not compatible with the DC39 as the DC39 doesn't feature the electrical connections required to power it.

Should you need a hard floor tool for your DC39, the Swivel (Articulating) Hard Floor Tool is available and compatible. This can be purchased online via this link: https://shop.dyson.com.au/accessories/articulating-hard-floor-tool-920018-05

I hope this helps, however if we can assist further please email [email protected] and our Dyson Experts will be in touch and happy to help.

DC39 Multi Floor

While using the DC 39 on finished concrete floors it appears the multi surface head is excessively gripping the floor which results in making the DC 39 difficult to push and pull. The small rollers are marking the floor. Is there another adjustment for suction besides the one on the trigger?

2 answers
Walter
Walter

I don't know of another adjustment on the trigger. I wouldn't use the machine to suck up concrete or plaster dust as this will clog the internal filter as well as the dust filter.

I own a dyson DC39 Animal, with the 1st triggerhead. Which stopped spinning. If buy a replacement, would it be better to buy the newest version of the triggerhead? Would it work with the use of the release button? and would it work with pet hair the same as the initial triggerhead?

Hi there,

Thank you for your question.

For the DC39 Animal there is only one Triggerhead that will work with the release button. This machine is designed to be used with the Triggerhead and not with the new style of Turbine head that we offer on other machines.

If you'd like to place an order please contact our helpline on 1800 239 766 or send an email through to [email protected]. Our helpline is open Mon-Fri 8am-8pm and on the weekend 8.30am-4pm.

My DC39 brush stops spinning as soon as it hits carpet... it’s not very effective at picking up pet hair if the brush doesn’t spin. As soon as I take it back to hardwood the brush spins again... but I don’t need it here... any thoughts on why it wouldn’t work on carpet? It is very low pile...
Thanks.

I had this issue in a rental with low pile carpet. It was an old house and I don’t think the carpet was well stuck down anymore. As soon as I moved to another newer house I had no problem with the turbo head. Although it didn’t seem like the carpet was lifting I think the turbo head was too powerful for the older carpet and it lifted just slightly which stopped the head from spinning. The same thing happens when I try to use the head on rugs.

I have been given a DC39 Multifloor some time back. I now have an indoor dog who sheds a bit. I am wondering if buying a turbine head for the multifloor would work for picking up animal hair effectively. in otherwords, is the multifloor compatible with turbine heads?

Hi Simon,

There is a compatible Turbine head you can purchase for your machine for $129 with free postage. The spinning brush will certainly help with animal hair pick up .

My DC39 runs great until I get on the carpet and the brush stops spinning. It's acting like the suction is not powerful enough. I've checked the hose and verified there is no debris restricting air flow. I've cleaned the filter. Still seeing the same issue. I've cleaned the brush and verified nothing preventing it from spinning from the axis. As soon as I lift it from the carpet, the brush spins rapidly again. Any idea what the issue could be?

1 answer
Dyson
Dyson Team ..Dyson

Hi Julie,

Thanks for your question.

Some possible reasons this could be occurring is that there is a blockage of airflow in the machine or something hindering airflow between the head and the floor surface.

Please check the machine for blockages as shown here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PheQ00a_urU
If the carpet is of a particularly dense type and it seems that the head is almost sticking to the floor pull the trigger on the handle to reduce the suction slightly.

If this does not resolve the issue or you need further assistance, please reach out at [email protected] and we will be happy to help.

I have a DC39 and the brush will not stop spinning when I push the appropriate button. There are no clogs, but I have hardwood floors and I need it to not spin. When I hold the button down it does stop spinning, however there is no suction. What can I do to fix this?

I normally use the hardfloor attachment for hard floors as the brush scratches my floor tiles. I'm not sure if u can permanently stop the brush. It is supposed to be automatic. There is a circle on the side of the brush that looks like a line across. That's supposed to lock it. I have the opposite problem. Sometimes mine stops when I'm doing the carpet and it annoys me coz I have to detach and reattach it to get it to spin again. Good luck!

Did you ever get an answer to this problem? I'm having the same issue. For 4 years I would push the button down and release it and the brush head would stop spinning so I could use it on my hard wood floors. Then out of nowhere it wouldn't work and had to be held down, but like you said, then the suction is not the same. I actually called Dyson and they could not troubleshoot it over the phone, so I went to a local vacuum repair store through my warranty and they told me NOTHING was wrong with my vacuum. They said ALL Dysons that convert from hard wood floors to carpet have to have the button held down at all times. This was confusing as for 4 years I only had to push it once to change settings, not hold it down. I Called Dyson again and they told me the same. Tried vacuuming this weekend taping down the button and the suction is nowhere near the same because the compartment is open. Makes no sense. Probably need a new vacuum now which sucks.

Hi Melodie,

Thank you for your query.

We don't recommend washing any part of the DC39 with the exception of the filter.

Once the brush is removed, you can wipe the head out with a soft, dry cloth. You can find out how to remove the brush from the head here: https://www.dyson.com.au/support/dc39/dc39-animal/machine-is-not-working/trigger-head-not-working/dc39-check-the-brushbar/dc39-check-triggerhead-tool

DC39 Multi Floor

I have the Dyson DC39 Multifloor Pro canister vacuum. I keep reading that I can stop the triggerhead brush from spinning its bristles for hardwood floors. For the life of me, I cannot find this button. the only button that comes close is the button that opens an airway so that the brushes stop spinning. but when you use this button, there is no suction because the airway opens up. Am I missing something? I only have hardwood floors so I need the triggerhead to not use its bristles at all.

Mine has a trigger like pull at the handle. Not on the head itself

Dyson
Dyson Team ..Dyson

Hi Wayne,

Thanks for your question.

The button has a picture of the brushbar on it and is located on the handle of the machine, alternatively pulling on the trigger on the handle will have a similar effect. It should reduce the suction level only slightly, rather than have no suction.

If you are losing suction completely, please check your machine over for blockages as shown here:
