Good
Weekly specials are especially good. I watch out for the weekly catalogue and swing past on my way to work and get some of the specials. Not the greatest for your weekly bulk shop as i do find some items to be more expensive. We have bought rump steak from foodworks when we have family BBQ for as low as 5.99 a kg. Good cheap steak. I am always buying meat from them. Their cooked BBQ chickens are 7.99-8.99 usually which is alot cheaper than coles and woolies who charge 10.99. Overall happy with Foodworks and shop there often.
Fruit and Veg are fresh and good quality. Happy with the service.
Packaged lines are more expensive

i do go to foodworks every week because we have one in town so its very convenient, i did however love the august sale that just ended, they had the most amazing specials and i stocked up on alot of products during this sale month, i wish they did that kind of thing more often. the staff are always so friendly and been in a country town they actually remember you
we have a foodworks in town so its very convenient for a couple things here and there, they do have some great specials though
would be way too expensive to do a whole grocery shop there
Good
I am a suporter of the indipendant supermarkets and use them where possible. I like my local Foodworks for although it is propper supermarket it has the atmosphere and frendliness of a corner store and is competative enough in its prices to enable me to do most of my grocery shopping there, even though I am a pensioner.
It is very convenient and a propper supermarket. Fresh foods are good quality and competatively priced. Service and parking is good.
Packaged lines are more expensive, but not overly so. The range of goods is a bit limited and some lines that I require are not carried.

I have shopped at a few Foodworks stores over the years and while they are good for any items you have run out of at the last moment, they are very expensive to be going to all that regularly. They do normally have a good stock level and product range and most things you can find there but they really are too expensive to be shopping at too regularly. They are not always situated in the best locations either.
They have a lot of products so if you do run out they are a good choice.
Very expensive so you would not want to be shopping at them too often.

My local corener store is branded Foodworks. It is a bit like a large conveneinece store with prices to match! The range is however, exceptionally good for a small local store and the quality is excellent. I would not do a large family shop here but I find it great to pick up those things that I forgot at the supermarket. The customer service is excellent as my local is a family run and owned storeThey also will deliver and always offer car service if needed. It is handy when in a hurry.
Conventient. My local store has excellent customer service.
Very expensive compared to others.

I use Foodworks predominantly for all the little extras like bread and milk throughout the week to top up on our main shopping. Unfortunately they are so expensive that you couldn't possibly do all of your shopping there. They do have some occassional good specials but the value of these is more than negated by the usually overpriced standard lines. Their best product is the champagne ham in the deli which is delicious and reasonable value at less than $19/kg. Use Foodworks sparingly!
It does the job if you focus on the special mainly.
They are one of the more expensive stores around by far.

More like a very large convenience store than a supermarket, Foodworks is handy for getting those items you need in a hurry or don't have time to wait around a supermarket to get. The store near us also had a good variety of magazines as well as DVD's and they also do hot food at lunchtime. The parking is right out the front and you never have to worry about queue's.
Easy parking right out the front so very convenient.
Not a big variety of products but great for all those last minute staples like milk or bread.

I tend not to shop at Foodworks due to the really high prices they have, I do however need to shop there for convience sometimes. If im unable to get to a fruit and vege store i will actually get from fruit from Foodworks because they always seem to have really fresh fruit and vege. All stores seem to be quite small, there are never any lines at the check outs which is good. not my first choice for supermarkets but its still ok.
Convienent. Able to get what you need and get out quickly, no lines at the check outs. Always seem to have fresh fruit and vegies.
Limited items available and they are very expensive.

FoodWorks is really convenient for just running in and grabbing a few things. I usually don't have any problem parking. However I wouldn't do my main weekly shop there as they have a much smaller range and tend to be a lot more expensive than the main grocery chain stores. I always find the customer service great and our local store is always well presented and clean which is nice. I do like to support the smaller guys when I can.
Fantastic and convenient. Our local one is always clean and fresh
Far more expensive as a rule than the bigger chain grocery stores

I think of Foodworks as more of a convenience store than somewhere I would do my regular grocery shopping. They do make an effort to look nice and provide well above average customer service but as a trade off everything is more expensive than it is at a bigger supermarket and there is not as much choice to be had. I don't mind paying a little more to buy fresh food that is actually fresh though.
Good to support the local community. Good specials on fruit and vegetables and always fresh and very good quality.
Limited range and higher prices.

A great shop if you need to pop out and get one or two things, and it supports the local farmers and produce. However their stock is limited and they tend to be very expensive. Not a place you would shop regularly.
Supports local produce and farmers.
Expensive and has very limited items in stock.

Great little convenience store with parking reserved for customers. Good if you have run out of something like bread or milk.
There is a small one very close to where I live that has their own reserved parking spaces so its great when you run out of something at the last minute. They have small range of fresh, frozen, produce and grocery lines but also have some extra services like DVD hire, hot food and coffee.
The range is very limited but to be fair, it is a very small shop. Its more like a convenience store than a local supermarket.

friendly people run the store.i only go there if i'm desperate for something. you pay a higher price for the convience. mostly located in handy spots, only street parking available in my area. if you have a couple of things makes it a little difficult to carry aroundto the car. it is good to support the locals as they do it tough with the major chains always discounting the popular products and running them out of business.
in my suburb which makes it handy to get to. supporting the local community.
the price on most items. limit on product range. no parking area.

For their convenience factor and the service you receive it's well worth getting to know your local store. If you keep an eye out on their specials you'll pick up a bargain as well. Their support of their local community is also fantastic
Friendly atmosphere and a chance that you'll get to know the familiar faces each time you go in. When they have a special they are generally just as cheap as the big chains, and sometimes even cheaper. I've even been in the queue and someone ahead of me hasn't had enough money and was told not to worry, take the goods and pop in tomorrow with the balance!
Can be pricy on general items and range is limited.

All i all it's not a bad shop but just a bit overpriced. Good in the fact that it is open when all the other shops are shut. ONly go there when you need something urgently when all the other shops are shut.
It is reliable and open 7 days a week. It is nice and handy and is promoted really well for families to shop there. The staff are really nice and help you out whne you looklost in the isle.
The prices they have in our local store are horrendous. I only use this shop when he world is about to explode and I need that kg of flour!

I love Foodworks simply because it is as close to the old corner grocery as one can get. Personal attention, jobs for the younger set, community, and convenience. Given my local options I cannot do my weekly shopping there, but it is my first choice for the stockups required mid-week.
Friendly, Homey
Cannot compete on price, limited stock

I love that these are community involved stores, with our local foodworks supporting the kids soccer teams. They have most of what coles and woolies has to offer (with out the home brands of course). After my weekly shop at coles or woolies i always make the effort to go to foodworks especially for my cold meats. I wont buy them anywhere else. They have the freshest coldmeats and antipasto selecetion. They have everything you could imagine. And it's all cut right there in front of you, the smell is amazing feels like you're in the mediterranean somehwere.
Small friendly stores with happy staff
Not big enough yet to compete with the prices at coles and woolies

Go here for better and more friendly service than the major 2 supermarkets.
Support your local community and shop here.
This is a good alternative to the big 2 of Safeway, Coles. Remember, if the independants go under and leave only the big 2, prices are sure to rise quickly.
Convenient and close to home, great fresh produce, different lines and brands in comparison to the big 2. Love their deli section it always seems to have cheaper and fresher products compared to the big 2, staff always friendly and helpful, supporting the local community
some products not as cheap in comparison to the big 2

the staff at my local foodworks are very friendly not like some of the larger chains can be, my local store is a little cluttered and some of the prices on meat and fruit/veg can be quite high and is actually cheaper to go into town
convenient close to my house saves me the 15 minute drive to safeway and coles
some of the items can be a bit expensive

Foodworks would be my only grocery stop and shop if money wasn't an issue. Unfortunately, I still have to buy a great deal from the bigger stores, but it's well worth taking advantage of Foodworks weekly specials.
Foodworks recently took over store in a small shopping centre near where I live in Wishart, Queensland. I was pleasantly surprised by the range of products that they stock, and by the number of weekly specials. What I really like about it is the friendly staff. It's more like visiting a family store than a supermarket, and is always s...
