Total downgrade from iQ2
I have rated the iQ3 a one star, we have been with Foxtel for around 10 years, about 3 years ago we (supposedly) upgraded to iQ3.
We have since phoned Foxtel to say programmes are not recording, the system keeps freezing, about 6 times, each time they reset it and say that’s fixed it, and each time it goes again.
Two weeks ago we had Foxtel put into a second room iQ2, when we called we said or iQ3 was playing up and was told to ask the technician when he was out.
We asked the technician to look at the iQ3 and we were told that it’s pointles...Read more

Impressed with IQ3
Well I’m not sure why there are so many 1 star reviews on the IQ3 box from foxtel, I was skeptical at first as well and when I got offered it as an upgrade I agreed, short time after I looked at the reviews and I was like I don’t want to do this, then it arrived, easy to install and wow I was impressed, people say the remote is slow and it’s not, the system is hard to navigate and it’s not, the new operating system is easy to use after the first navigation you do with it, so yup 5 star review from myself.

Piece of crap
Ive had this box sinse its release, the box is slow as hell. You literally have to press a button wait, press the next button and wait, click what you want, wait, it will load the show page and episode lists eventually. The remote screws up all the time and i have to take the batteries out and put them back in all the time. I was told the box upgrade from my star to iq3 would be free yet was charged 250 ish dollars, called and was told i would be refunded, i wasnt, called again was told the same thing a month later, still no refund, it never came... a friend with the iq2 says it never has the problems i have with the “best box” iq3...

JUST DOESN'T WORK
Will not stay connected to the internet (foxtel broadband as well this is not good either) keep your iq2 box. They seem to have gone backwards with the recorded programming as well, as it wont always show when you have viewed a recorded program. All together not enjoying to live with. R

Very pleased with upgrade from IQ2 to IQ3
After reading many negative reviews, I was hesitant about the change over from IQ2 to IQ3. However, I'm so pleased I did. IQ3 is a big improvement on IQ2 for me and opens up many viewing options that did not exist before. I was on cable Foxtel and I'm now on satellite. Installation went well and I've got no negatives at all to report. I can transmit Foxtel to another room and, with the Bluetooth remote, I don't have to set up the fiddly infrared connectors.

Trash!
Im so upset my IQ2 broke and i got this rubbish replacement! Im sick of consumers being expected to beta test every new model of gadgets. This box freezes, wont play at times and seems to have a mind of its own. Sure the recording and HD capacity is good; that is, when it works! We pay top dollar for this service that has rapidly gone downhill over the years.

I joined Foxtel its a bit more expensive than the streaming ones. but I find. the documentaries and the news type shows don't seem easy to find or available else where that I have found. no worries about internet connection. can record. I find I miss Foxtel if I haven't got it, i only have a small package basic plus documentaries

Great Piece of Technology
I just upgraded from the iq2 to the iq3. I find it a fantastic improvement. Sound and picture quality’s have improved and the interface is much friendlier. It was a nightmare finding a program on the iq2. Now it is easy. The only problem I have is with backspacing on a currently running program, which tends to freeze when the real time version ends.
Perhaps the multiple knockers on this site might want to work out their individual issues before comprehensively bagging a great product.

WHY FOXTEL
What a piece of trash. The unit is far slower any other IQ’s they have released. They switched to a Bluetooth remote so there are times it drops out and doesn’t respond for 60 seconds. When you’re finished watching a recording it asks you if you like to return to watching live TV. Like NSS that’s why I pressed the button. The library is hard to navigate. When you series like shows some recorded multiple episodes. Must frustrating price of technology I’ve ever used. STICK TO IQ2

Rated IQ3 by reading reviews
From terrific EXPERIENCE, I would have gone to TERRIBLE experience had I not read reviews from unlucky suffering customers using IQ3. Thanks you all for helping me NOT to ditch my IQ2. Please read the review titled "Do not get this useless piece of rubbish" dated 8th June 2018. You saved my life as I am glued on to TV every evening for about 5 hours. I feel sorry that few people have tried the IQ3 and because of their suffering I am now saved. You are all my Guardian Angels. Thanks for saving my life.
Shame on you foxtel who still advertises s...Read more

Would have given it zero stars if could
Biggest mistake changing to IQ3 everything’s all messed up very user unfriendly IQ2 was so much easier to use.Exiting and deleting is a major feat in its self always going back to something I didn’t want I think I’ve just about wore out my remote control from having to use it excessively

Drop dead...
Ever since the IQ3 came through my door today. Problems started they still couldn't connect my box, now having to watch my muilti box which doesn't have what my old iQ2 has. Very disappointed, send it back tomorrow and staying with my iQ2. Honestly they either need to fix it or don't prompt it.

operation
The interface is too complicated compaired to iQ2.
The picture kept freezing up at the start of a programe, the technician could not fit it so fitted a new box which did the same thing, he could not find a fault with house circuit either, so we went back to the iQ2 with no further problems.

DO NOT GET THIS USELESS PIECE OF RUBBISH
I decided to upgrade to IQ3 from IQ2 after hearing about the features ie more recording space as well as being able to record more shows at the same time as viewing one. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER!!!
I didn't realize that the entire interface was totally different. Unfortunately I did not review the IQ3 prior to ordering same. I won't repeat why I don't like IQ3 as it has been mostly covered in the existing reviews. There are three issues though, I will cover.
There is no background music played whilst looking at the menu etc.
Having the 60 times ...Read more

Foxtel IQ3 So Slow
The new Foxtel IQ3 is very disappointing. It takes forever to change channels especially if you’re wanting to flick through channels Quickly. The older Foxtel was much faster when it came to replaying recorded shows and movies. Sometimes shows that I have series linked disappear from my Library. Very disappointing FOXTEL!!

Unethical business practice
This is an outrage if enough people threaten to discontinue foxtel they will shake their tail feathers. my iq3 freezes up,i have to turn it off at the wall to get it to work, i can only record 1 show at a time, my remote wont work all the time, i thought you are supposed to be able to record 3 shows while watching tv, false advertising

Works Wonderfully
Recently upgraded from Mystar Box. Met all expectations and more. Easy to navigate. Remote is very responsive. Much more storage space. Recording and viewing quality is very excllent. Have had no trouble with recording of shows and it advises if there are clashes. Especially like the way recordings of a series are stored under the one heading. Technician came out at advised time and did the install and setup and was very polite and helpful.

The worst ever, wish I stuck with IQ2
If you’re considering getting an IQ3, please save yourself lots of annoyance and just get the IQ2.
Reason why:
All aspects of using the recording function is clunky and frustrating where exiting and deleting is a major drama if you don’t stop the program first
The Bluetooth remote is painfully slow and leaves you wondering when to try again
The user menus are over complicated and seem to be duplicated
Honestly you would think that upgraded systems would be more user friendly than the previous version but the IQ3 is the equivalent of going from Ferrari back to a T model Ford.
Stick to the IQ2.

Somehow much worse than IQ2
Foxtel's IQ3 is terrible. Here's why:
1. The overall speed of the system is really slow. It can take 5 seconds for a command to happen
2. You can't switch between a recorded program and live TV without being asked to confirm. This, combined with the speed issues makes it a 10 second process.
3. When you do switch back to the recorded program from live TV, it sometimes takes you back to the start of the program, instead of to where you were up to.
4. The planner is laid out in such a way that all the episodes from a given series are in the...Read more

Disappointing
Like other people have written, the remote is very slow. This together with a much more complicated menu system causes navigation and fast forwarding, rewind, selection, etc to be difficult. You often find yourself clicking on the wrong item, and it is much more difficult to fast forward during watching a program than before. As an engineer i find this disappointing and can’t help but think large companies are losing their focus. Customers want reliable products that work. I therefore give Foxtel 1 star. game and on the top right hand side of the screen it says “Every game live”, which I cannot get rid of. I’d like to see someone with lots of money take Foxtel to the cleaners as I find this fixed watermark a distraction and not in the spirit of a paid TV service.Similar opinion?
