Worst lounge!
We purchased this modular lounge 2 years ago and feathers are still coming out of it niw! It has lost a lot of support and for payung $4500 for it I would have expected it would have been of better quality. Our modular lounge we had prior to this from Harvey Norman had better support in it after 10years! It is the most uncomfortable lounge and a complete waste of good money. I would not recommend buying it and after seeing all the similar bad reviews of this lounge I cannot believe that Freedom are still selling this defective product!
So disappointed and I really regret buying it.
Purchased in April 2021 at Freedom for A$4,500.00.

Terrible Product!
We purchased 2 x 2 1/2 seaters in 2015 so they make up a 4 seat couch. Cost close to 5K. Unfortunately, I have to give the same feedback - feathers are continuing to come out and the cushions have lost their shape. Only 3 people in household with all working/school full time.
Very disappointed customer, particularly when you think you are buying quality and using limited funds to purchase an expensive piece of furniture! Hence, will be very dubious about buying any furniture from Freedom in future.
Purchased in January 2021 for A$5,000.00.

Terrible
Bought this sofa in 2014 and have persevered with it as it was quite expensive, but was sagging and uncomfortable within 6 months of buying it. Fabric fades very badly and the feathers constantly coming out of cushions and stick into our legs. So disappointed and has put me off buying furniture from Freedom in the future. Worst couch ever, very poorly designed DO NOT BUY THIS COUCH!!
Purchased in April 2021 for A$3,000.00.

I can’t believe Freedom are still selling this rubbish!
I bought my Freedom “Andersen” lounge about 15 months ago and, within a few weeks, I noticed it was losing feathers and starting to sag considerably.
I contacted Freedom and they were not in the least bit interested.
I eventually managed to get them to replace the inserts. Only to find that the sagging continued and is now worse than ever!
I am the only person who uses it and I always sit in the same place. However the entire lounge continues to sag!
I have decided to cut my losses and just get rid of the damn thing.

Poor Quality
Have had the same problem with a Freedom Furniture Lounge. Will never buy any product from them again. Leather lounge brought for $5000 lost lumber support and sagging in upper area within 8 months. Only my husband and myself sit on it 2 hrs each night. Phoned Freedom about problem with a person coming to our home to have a look. Was told it was normal charter for this product. Funny had two other Freedom Lounges prior without any problems as both were made in Australia with good quality dunlop foam used. All lounges made in China use poor/low quality foam that loses support and sags within 12 months. Freedoms quality in lounges has gone far south, looks great in show room but as said quality terrible

Hi,
I spoke to the store months ago and they said the zips were not covered by the warranty. The sofa was so poor we replaced it and its been collected by council pick up.

Poor quality..seats sagging
We received this lounge in August 2017. At the beginning of the year we noticed the seats visibly sagging and losing alot of feathers. Continued to rotate the cushions and just ignores the feathers however the cushions are looking terrible. It's not like the sofa is used all day every day. Very disappointing given the age of product. Regret not lodging warranty claim earlier however we are now awaiting a response from Freedom. We have purchased other items from Freedom including sofas and have not had this issue previously and have been very happy in the past.

Worst lounge ever purchased
We purchased this lounge 18 months ago and in the beginning were quite happy with it. Now very disappointed as it constantly loses feathers and one seat is much lower than the other so I have had to swap around cushions. Freedom tell me this is quite normal and they say feather loss is also normal. I understand you would lose feathers but would have thought this would have settled down by now. The representative I spoke to said it will continue and nothing you can do about it. They have washed their hands off it. Disgusting attitude by th...Read more

Great service review (not for actual product)
** This is a review for the staff at Freedom (since we can't review the actual couch yet) ** We recently purchased the Freedom Andersen modular sofa with chaise, and we had a wonderful experience working with both James and Suzy at the Moore Park store. Both staff members were patient, kind, and attentive without being pushy. When we realized within hours that the sofa was much too large for our space, they were willing to work with us to find a new solution. While we can't speak to the durability of the couch itself (as others mentioned, there is a 12-15 week delivery window as it's made to order), we do plan on returning to Freedom to fill the rest of our new home!

Andersen seating is different where you sit and fabric is pilling
After only a few days i noticed pilling on the fabric like a cheap old jersey. It is only my partner and i and we work full time so it gets very little use. We've had it only 7 weeks and it has pilling all over it. We bought the colour Cloud. We both have corporate jobs and only wear good clothing. We use throws but still it is looking worn with the pilling. Also some areas are very firm while others slump down causing a gap with the next seat cushion. There is a big gap between the chaise and the two seat modular. Due to the big metal plates a...Read more

Seat cushions sinking
Ordered the couch in July 2017...wrote a nice review as it arrived two weeks early. (Usually takes 12weeks). But have definitely changed my mind as I had to have one seat cushion replaced due to it sinking lower than the rest. Even though I said it’s the base that is sinking too the repairer wouldn’t have a bar of it. 8 weeks went by then the new firmer seat insert arrived. By this time I’ve show the repairer that the next cushion is sinking. Once again the repairer was adamant that it was the foam insert that was failing and he would put in a ...Read more
report and get another insert. Now, let me say, this couch is in our Back TV room and doesn’t get much use and it’s only my husband and I that live here. How can foam inserts give out with little wear and only a few months old when it first start happening. And these seat cushions aren’t where we usually sit. The length of time since I first ordered it to still having to put in fault reports in not acceptable. I’ve also now seen a lot of reviews about this couch with similar issues of the seating sinking very low. Still waiting on Freedom to fix it.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Extremely disappointed with the quality
Like others on this site, I bought the 2.5 seater Anderson after lusting after it for some time, at over $2500 I thought I would get what I paid for. I've had it for just 4 years now and the lounge is sagging so much to the point where I'm practically sitting on the floor. I also live alone so I'm he only one sitting on the lounge. I alter where I sit to keep the sagging from getting worse but it doesn't help. The loss of feathers is astounding too, they're constantly poking through the cushions, take off the cushion covers and it's a feather s...Read more
nowstorm. I thought I was imagining the fabric fading, but judging on these other reviews I'm not. Although I don't have any obvious fade spots, the whole lounge appears a much softer grey than when I first bought it. I will definitely be replacing this lounge and am honestly shocked and disappointed it only lasted four years. I generally love Freedom but this particular item is very poorly designed and made, which is a shame as I really like the style of it.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Worst couch ever bought
Purchased 3 seater and chaise 2015. Feathers coming out everywhere. Seats have 'given way' as if the supporting frame underneath has sagged. Worst couch we have ever bought. Only bought it because our last freedom couch was brilliant and held shape for more than 10 years.

Sagging sofa
We bought the Anderson sofa from Freedom furniture. Large modular and feather fill seem quite luxuries with a nice piping detail on the cousins it looked tailored however it immediately started shedding feathers that would give you a poke when coming through hundreds and I'd suggest it lost about 50% Freedom sent through additional slip covers however the modulars had already lost too much filling and is like a balloon losing its air saggy. After 5 years we have now just had a spring give way. For the cost of $4,200 I would have thought we were buying a reasonable product however we've had a dud right from the start.

We named him slouch.
We were excited to buy the Andersen 4 years ago, and waited 14 weeks for delivery. It seems to have sturdy construction and lots of support. Only a few weeks into owning it, the cushions sagged and started discarding feathers everywhere. No amount of puffing up the cushions helped. We spent so much on it that we suffered through sitting on 'Slouch' for years. We finally got rid of it - straight to the dump. No one deserves such a horribly unergonomic and unhygienic couch.

Misshapen, uncomfortable and leaks feathers everywhere
The worst couch I've ever owned. Three months after purchase you could barely sit on it. The cushions warp at the back and are so uncomfortable. The seat cushions have no support and are super uncomfortable. DO NOT BUY IT!

No confidence in buying from Freedom
Do not buy from Freedom, unless you are feeling lucky that you will have no problems with your purchase!
I bought the Andersen armchair and ottoman. Items arrived and found that the armchair was a different shade to the ottoman and thought well this can happen with different batches of fabric and was thankful that I did not order the suit. The ottoman fabric looked faded.

cushion and slid the zip across, it zipped straight off and did not close the zipper. To add to all this I rang customer service who's reply was that the covers are only to be dry cleaned and not to be removed. My question is why is there a zipper on the cushion cover, for decoration? I was in the process of updating all my furniture and for the sake of replacing or repairing a cushion cover, which would have been fine, leaves me cold and would not confidently buy anything from Freedom ever again. Just remembered, bought three sets of spice racks and spice jars to suit - cracked and broken - loved the concept but cheap and nasty.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Horrified at Freedoms lack of customer care!!!
Like others I bought 2 brown Anderson Modular chairs a little over a year ago and one has faded so much that it is almost orange!!! This chair is not in direct sunlight. When I spoke to the "Customer Care consultant" they advised that this was not a manufacturing fault and that there was absolutely no option for me to escalate this as an issue .
I am not a frequent "complainer" and have found this experience to be distressing and extremely frustrating!!!

Stay away from freedom! Terrible quality, don't waste your money on freedom ever!
We purchased this sofa march 2014. Like other reviewers main issues are sagging/ too soft and uncomfortable, horrific fabric fade. We now have bright orange patches on back of cushions (we have a little sunlight that falls on sofa in the winter only). Whilst I expected a little fading was appalled that it happened within 6 months and the bright orange colour of fading is unbearable. We also have feathers constantly poking out of fabric and at the end of the week we vacuum up at least two dozen feathers. Stay away from freedom. Once upon a time ...Read more
you got quality for a reasonable price now better off with ikea sofa. Wish we had saved for an extra few months and purchased a king sofa. Update August 2016 - zippers on chaise cushion has split and can't be fixed and I had enough and so did not want to pay for a replacement. Ended up turfing the whole sofa which was such a relief and purchased an Ikea kivik modular (half the price and can remove and wash covers OR buy whole new set for a couple of hundred dollars).Similar opinion? We are looking at purchasing the 6 seater modular Andersen, it is still on sale and looks fantastic however the reviews are appalling, does anyone have any good reviews? Why would freedom still stock it if it didn’t deliver on investment

Hi Susie,
I don’t know but it was by far the worst sofa I’ve ever owned. We have one Harvey Norman and one focus on furniture 6 seaters and both far out weigh the freedom. The sofa didn’t hold up at all I would never recommend them to anyone
Sorry
Hi Susie,
Please save yourself the extreme discomfort and disappointment!
Yes, the lounge looks amazing but it is a total lemon!
I purchased mine about 15 months ago and I am now at the point where I can’t even sit on it as it gives me a dreadful backache.
The entire lounge has sagged and is now completely unusable.
Someone was sent out to replace the inserts but the problem soon returned after just a few weeks.
I am now at a stage where I just have to cut my losses and give it away as there is no way I could sell it.
I have now ordered a new leather lounge from Nick Scali (they are having a big sale at the moment) and I am more than satisfied with the quality of the product I will be receiving. And it looks great too!
Please Susie, think carefully before buying the Andersen as it is a totally inferior lounge made in China. I also forgot to mention the feathers poking out and jabbing you when you sit on it!
I really can’t believe that Freedom is still selling this rubbish.
I just wish I had read all the reviews first.
Good luck with your decision Susie. My advice is to shop around first.
Cheers, Louise B
Thank you so much for taking the time

Anyone have any updates on this couch if they have changed the fabric or seat foams? I see they are still selling it instore?
1 answer
It is still the same. It is made up with feathers and they do come out. We have had the lounge now for 18 months and while a very comfortable lounge we are disappointed that it constantly loses feathers. If I had my time again we would not buy this lounge. Freedom advise it’s not a fault and you should expect this to happen. Whilst I understand you would lose a few I do not expect to still be happening. Advice would be to steer clear of it.

I'm looking to buying a Andersen modules lounge for 5299 can someone tell me anything about them?

Dont buy anything from Freedom. Fading not covered even if faded so much within 12 months. They won't admit there is a fault in the fabric. My lounge went from brown to pink in that time even with a verandah all around the house and block out blinds and awnings. No direct sun. Had my previous lounge for 17 years in exactly the same position with no problem. All they could say was fading not covered even with extra warranty.
Thanks
We adored ours and found it the most comfortable sofa we've ever owned. Now selling due to travel plans with quite a lot of reluctance. Big sofa. The fabric fading did not happen to ours in an ambient lit Canberra apartment but we'd be very upset if it did. Wonder if climate affects the fabric too?
