Terrible customer service. Don't bother with any of the stores.
2nd time visiting a Freedom store in 2 days - both had appalling customer service. South Wharf and Richmond (VIC) stores - do yourself a favour and don't bother. Both times not one staff member came over and helped my husband and I, and we were prepared to purchase a whole bedroom suite on the spot (after looking online). We went as far as carting bedside tables across the showroom floor ourselves to see how everything looked and still, no one helped us, despite staff behind the counter chatting with one another. for some help only to find out she was simply a 'stylist' arranging displays around. So... no, thanks. Walked out of there and bought completely elsewhere, where customer service staff actually care about getting a sale...

Shocking Experience, Disgusted
I ordered a dining table and a lounge in November last year, was told it would be here within 10 - 12 weeks. Now 17 weeks later I am still waiting and have been told it 'might be here in early May'. I spent over $3,500 on these two items and have been told if I'm lucky they will be here 24 weeks after I purchased them, almost 6 months! If I hadn't of gone into store and demanded to know what was going on I would still be in the dark about it as no one bothered to inform me what the situation was. I have been sitting on a cushion on the floor for 4 months and am very unimpressed that this is the service I have received.

Don't waste your money. Poorly made furniture and warranty claims are painful
Whenever i walk into the store it always takes a long time to get assistance, only 1 or 2 staff members floating around and they are always busy.
I recently purchased an armchair, which was very poorly made and faulty.
I think that their furniture is over priced with poor quality workmanship, the quality definitely does not match the high price tags.
I put in a warranty claim, and after 4 weeks the chair is still sitting in my house. No one has come to pick it up despite being told i would receive a call arranging pick up. There is no phone num...Read more

Big Mistake
Sitting on camp chairs while waiting for our lounge. Was originally told 4-6 weeks, after that I called several times and finally spoke with a CSO and they told me all contact will now only be via email. He finally got back to me and told me the lounge won't be available until "approx" late May or early June. If your system has problems as I was told, don't take any more orders. I'm frustrated there has been no updates from Freedom at all until I finally found a way to make contact. So disappointed as I really wanted this lounge after a long time shopping around. Needless to say I've asked to be refunded as I'm not prepared to wait that long!
Please don't respond with an automated reply, this is no help at all.

Terrible experience! DONT BUY
We placed an order in the Cockburn store in November 2022. At the time of placing the order we were told the order would be ready in approximately early January. January arrived and still we had no update on when our order would be ready. We escalated the issue to Freedom and were told they are having issues with their ordering system and we would receive an update in a weeks time. e week went by and we have received an update to advise that the order we placed in November last year won’t be ready until mid-may, 6 months after we placed the order, and that’s only an indication. They can’t guarantee it will be ready in May. When you go to place an order in store the staff continue to tell you that there is a 4-6 weeks lead time which is completely false. I ask anyone considering a purchase from Freedom to reconsider.2 comments

I just don't believe anymore. I have been advised by your escalation team that our order MIGHT be ready at the End of May 2020, the order we placed in November 2022. In other words it MIGHT be ready a whole 6 months after we ordered which is totally unacceptable, hence we have cancelled our order with Freedom and received a refund.Similar opinion? Characteristics of a company going into liquidation?
While the review specifies Moore Park, this problem is systemic.
Delivery date has exceeded the expected four weeks by two weeks. Customer service is rude and dismissive, if anyone answers in the first place. They don't know where the item is. Promises to return calls not kept. Unsatisfactory recourse to solve problems. Terrible customer service!
I ordered a signature Freedom sofa and within months it was excessively balling everywhere. After weeks of ignored emails I was finally able to order a replacement sofa. The receipt I was issued for the replacement sofa advised I would have my replacement sofa within 13-15 weeks... Shocking experience, be warned! Waiting on delivery for almost 12 months!
Be warned. Waited 6 mths for any answer why product not delivered, no call backs, excuse after excuse, computer system down, etc etc changed manager, got my money, no couch! They Dont seem to care! Suggest you dont buy from this firm.

Terrible Service and Poor Communication
Order was placed on the 18th of Jan with 3 week delivery time which was stated on the invoice and on top of that the promises from Lee the sales rep at Crossroads that the product is due in stock any day.
I just received an update from the escalation team that does not have a phone number to call them just by e-mail that my order will be ready by Mid to End of March.
Disgraceful way to run a company and lie to your customers.

cant deliver a normal order what will happen when i go back and cash in that 10% gift card shall i wait another 12 weeks. Thanks but not thanks. I have requested a partial refund as a compensation but he came back to me with 1000 Dollars gift card or what we can do is cancel the order and sell it to you at a lower price but than you will have to wait 10 to 12 weeks. Seriously it is the same bloody order why the hell am i going to wait for 10 to 12 weeks!!!! Faulty Products and shocking customer service!
We have twice bought from Freedom. The first time the item was faulty - door of the buffet table would not close properly. We informed Freedom and at that time they financially compensated for such poorly made furniture (instead of the option of re-delivering another - a choice we made). This time around we bought a dresser and bed side tables, the dresser looked like it bad been dropped and there was a crack on the edge and one of the drawers would not close properly; and one of the bedside tables the nail had gone through the wood. mplaints, photos were taken and submitted for proof. This time however there was no phone number to call, but all done online. It was stated we would hear from a representative 5-7 business days.... we had to visit our local store Moore Park on the 8th business day (because there was no way of contacting Freedom) who then wouldn’t help us! We had to make a complaint about complaint! We finally heard from Freedom on the 11th business day. Freedom would only offer a replacement (4weeks after initial delivery) and promised delivery would be unpacked (to ensure there were no issues this time) and rubbish to be taken away with the delivery. This was not the case. Delivery company was called and they confirmed such instructions were not provided by Freedom. We then called Freedom at the time of the delivery only for the customer assistant on the phone to hang up on us! It doesn’t matter how “affordable” Freedom products seem to be, they are badly made and absolutely unacceptable and shocking customer service. Definitely the last time we are buying from them! If you don’t mind badly made furniture and you have the time to mess around; be available for re-deliveries as well as time on the phone trying to convince them to help you, sure, buy from Freedom!Similar opinion? A complete shambles and appalling customer service.
I ordered an outdoor 4pce furniture package online... it is now 5-6 weeks overdue and I can’t get a straight answer as to when I can expect it to turn up, if at all. As with all the other reviews my online queries go unanswered and there are no phone numbers to contact them on. If you get sick of being stonewalled and go in to a bricks and mortar store they say ‘we can’t help you as Freedom is undergoing a system upgrade and can’t see the stock levels.’ This ‘system upgrade’ has been going on since at least November 2022! that a system upgrade can take 4 months, and counting, and if there are still issues then I would suggest they need an entire new IT department. This is so incredibly frustrating, I just either want my outdoor furniture or a refund. It shouldn’t be that hard, never ever again will I deal with this company. Terrible service..
I ordered a $3000 sofa and a bed in January.. under the premise that it would be no longer than 2 weeks (it was clearly stated that it was in stock). It’s now been 5 weeks snd I’ve had no update. Every attempt to speak to someone has been futile- no email replies, no one calling me back and any in store retail staff telling me they have no way of contacting delivery or head office.. huh?! I’m about to cancel my order, as the reason I bought this furniture was because of the the apparent quick turn around. Regardless of “technical issues”... don’t advertise a service if you can’t deliver. Won’t be buying from Freedom again.

Still waiting on what was promised as a timely delivery of entire bedroom suite
We purchased a queen bed, bedsides and dresser during the New Year sale and were advised by the store person that they may arrive in late jan but most likely early To mid Feb. We were relocating and so we sold our existing bedroom furniture, only to still be sleeping on mattress and living out of cardboard boxes. Terrible customer service and communication
I ordered a $3000 couch and told it would be a 16 week wait, it’s now 20 weeks and two out of five of the pieces have been delivered. No communication, only when I call the store and I am made to feel as though I am hassling them. When I ordered my couch I asked if the issues with the online ordering system would effect my order to which they ensure me it would not. I have been told they have no way of finding out delivery times, provided no compensation and given very little empathy. I have also called the customer service team who never called me back... @freedom Australia I would love a phone call.

How can they still be in business
We unfortunately purchased a lot of furniture in January 2020 at the Moorabbin store and we were told delivery would occur in between 3 weeks and 5 weeks. Guess what, still no furniture and impossible to get any information. The help line for delivery takes you to India where someone will take your details and promise to call you back (and no one calls back obviously!). You have to use ruse to speak actually with someone in the store and they once again promise to call back and never do. If this is not a pure scam, what is it then? Worst case...Read more
of customer avoidance ever. The person dealing with delivery in the Moorabbin store NEVER responded whenever I called (and I did call a lot). You have to pay 100% upfront for no goods. How is this tolerated in Australia? I called Vic Consumer Affairs and they told me to send a complaint email, document everything and then contact VCAT. I advise everyone else to get into VCAT if they are in Victoria. I am now going to fight to get my money back and I NEVER will set a foot in a Freedom store again.Similar opinion? Delivery and service terrible
Delivery times on website when you order and as you monitor through myfreedom are completely false. I won't order from Freedom again, it's too much hassle. I wanted some furniture quickly which was the incentive for ordering from Freedom as my items were showing as available with delivery within 3 weeks. 2 months later, I'm no closer to getting the order. It's extremely misleading to promote a delivery timeframe at the time of purchase (as an inducement to that purchase too) and then completely change it with no communication about that and no way to find out really if you're ever going to see your money or your furniture. I would implore Freedom to work on its systems - surely a business that size can manage its orders and communications better. An email wouldn't kill them. Recently ordered with another large furniture chain and was told at time delivery would be a couple of months, fine. Delivery was delayed and they called and told me that, also fine. So simple to just do that - honesty at the start and then one quick call. Easy. And I'm happy with that. ordered dining chairs, 2 months later told not available
We were told dining chairs were in stock in Sydney (we checked twice). Ordered and paid a deposit for them and after 8 weeks and numerous phone calls from us (often with staff not getting back to us, and when they did, saying they can't check the order because the computers were not working) were told they are no longer available. We now have to make the 60 minute round trip back to the store to get our deposit back and start looking again for dining chairs. Absolutely appalling service. Never buying from Freedom again!!!

Poor service, missing order, no follow up, no idea
Ordered and paid in full for couch and coffee table in September. Chased up in December, they had no idea where it was or when it will be delivered, IT issues? Kept following up, end of December still no idea when it would be delivered, cancelled the order in December and in Feb still waiting on refund and apology and compensation. National Solutions team lie to you and have no idea, staff will not take responsibility and cannot receive help or get return phone calls from anyone at Freedom. Customer service is atrocious across the board, do not shop here!!

Bad customer service, false and misleading statement
Slow customer service
Stock and delivery times are all wrong due to their roll out of a “new ordering” system since October 2022. A statement on their website reassuring customers that indicate stock and delivery time online and in store are accurate is false. It gives customers a false sense of security that whatever error they have has been fixed but it is far from fixed.
I would not order from this company ever. It’s poor service is sad considering my parents had had nothing but good experience with FF in the past, clearly that is no longer the case.
