Great unit
Was hesitant buying as a bit pricey compared to others, but after reading several reviews on other reels I took the plunge and ordered one. I have always been a Gardena fan, been using there products for years. Run several hoses and sprinklers on our property. Very happy with the real.. had it for about a month now and would highly recommend if you don’t mind paying extra couple of $$ for a decent item. Bought online and to be clear I didn’t purchase the auto Battery model.
Purchased in February 2021 at Mitre 10 for A$344.00.

Excellent Hose and Reel
Works a treat, very happy with my purchase. Battery re-charges fine, does everything it says it does and properly. Would def buy another one, looks good too. Previously bought a Hardie Pope and that I would not buy again.
Purchased in October 2021 for A$145.00.

Battery DIDN'T charge even ONCE.
Received this expensive present.
When working it was great.
Battery eventually went flat (as all batteries do).
Tried to recharge it's so-called rechargeable battery but it will not charge.
Phoned Gardena on 1300804213 and they said new battery must be special ordered through Bunnings. They could not give me any idea of cost either. Asked them if it's a $50 replacement item $100 item or more. Who knows??? Is it worth my time and trouble to drive to a Bunnings, find someone and then find out it's not worth the cost to fix. If I'm going to Bunnings then I am likely to just replace it with something in stock.

Great Hose
I bought 2 of these hoses after, the 2 Holman hoses I bought failed, both leaked internally after only a few months, took them back to Bunnings and were replaced by 2 of these Gardena ones.
These were much more pricey at about $200 more each, though they are much longer 35m ones, but so far have far exceeded Holman. With a 5 year warranty, which is more than any other manufacturer. Water pressure is good from 13mm hose. You pay more but you get quality.
Purchased in September 2021 at Bunnings Warehouse for A$299.00.

Works perfectly so far!
Bought the Gardena 35 meter from Bunnings a while ago and so far it’s working great.
Easy to pull out and wind in and no kinking.
Different water pattern setting included in one tap head .
Will have to wait few months or year to get the full value of $$$ spend as it’s quiet expensive.
Purchased in February 2021 at Bunnings Warehouse for A$379.00.

Worthwhile warranty?
We inherited a lithium battery powered, electrically rewound Gardena hosepipe when we moved last year. Virtually new looking, the battery was dated 2014 and well within the five year warranty period. When it stopped working, we contacted Gardena/Hisqvarna we were told that they would only honour the warranty if we could provide proof of purchase, which, because of the circumstances, we were unable to do. No amount of polite persuasion changed this view. So without any kind of manual override, we have a $500 top of the range model that is curren...Read more
tly useless and have to face the cost of having it repaired ourselves. A cautionary tale for anyone dealing with Gardena/Husqvarna. It will certainly make us think twice about buying anything from them.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

No proof of purchase no warranty, simple logic .
Don’t know why people winge about it!

If you inherit a garden hose reel, the legal title is transfered to the new owner. If that hose reel is defective, I agree that the warranty should be honoured by the manufacturer – after all, a defective hose reel is 'defective', regardless of who purchased it. (Tip: whenever possible, I shop at Bunnings. Bunnings have the best return/refund policy on this planet. I have returned defective goods for a store credit, even without a receipt.)
Problem with Bunnings not keeping to their corporate return policy ( NO RECEIPT. NO REFUND!), is that they are only encouraging the low-life ratbags to steal from them. $104,000,000 in shrinkage two years ago. That's a lot of money that we honest people have to pay back to Bunnings. See, they don't gave a rat's, because they have us all fooled about their pricing, so they can just build-in the stealer's cost. This is a social dis-service.
I get 'Team' discount and still do a lot of my shopping at Mitre 10 because the price is usually better and mostly the staff is much more knowledgeable. (oops)
