When I turn my straightener on the light comes up, then turns off and back on a few times. It heats up and starts working. Just wondering if the light is supposed to go on and off? :)

Help, my straightners turned themselves on in the middle of the night. So glad I was half awake at the time. Wouldn't like to think what would have happened if I was asleep. Any ideas of what I should do?

I have just up graded my GHD. I purchased the pink one for $280 as it was the only one the salon had. When u section your hair to straighten, the flat irons don't seem to come together 3/4 of the way but on the very tip of them, it pinches my hair and rips it out.
It's nothing like my old one that I've had for about 10 years.
Have you changed manufacturers ?

I have long (and moderately thick) hair and I have the regular size one. I curl and straighten my hair with it and its great for both.

do not buy GHD. The newer models are terrible. I have long thick hair and it leaves my hair frizzy. I would go for a GlamPalm straightener if I were you. It has adjustable heat settings for thick long hair.

Hi Rihab, I don't think they make them anymore. Once a model is past they don't continue to sell them. You could maybe try ebay?

My ghd straightener that I received for my birthday 16 months ago has
Developed sticky residue on the blades is there anything that I can do to fix this, my daughter has a ghd too and she was alarmed when she used mine as it doesn't slide like hers.

That sticky residue is hair product, you can easily remove this by rubbing it with methylated spirits and a clean cloth. Then rinse with water. Do not run it under water - only use damp cloths to remove residue. Also, i have found that hair straightens and curls better when there is no product in it. I usually apply product after curling/straightening.

Ive just bought a IV and it is the best buy ever, I've spent hundreds on appliances that didn't work, this is really good I have fine thin hair and it works wonders, one tip hold a comb under the straightener as you pull it through your hair it makes a big difference

I have the IV too (The limited edition purple one) and have had it for about 4 years now and it's still going strong. Really any GHD is a good one.

Hi..Yes definitely repairable...however you do have to send it back to GHD factory which sometimes just ends up being better purchasing a new one..warranty etc....Good luck

It is a little on the expensive side ranging from about $240-$300 but you know your getting a great product. I wouldn't trust buying one from ebay as you can't be sure it is authentic.
