Thank you. I'm interested to know what you might be able to assist me with, which wouldn't involve me risking even more time and money chasing a good outcome. If you can give me an indication, I will follow up with the team.

I bought this GHD IV straightener(have always used GHD's since 7 years, old one broke so got the new one) Blades don't hold hair well and slide through. Heating isn't good so required 4 times to straightening a section of hair to give it a sleek look :( just bought this boright few weeks ago but already struggling)have always recommended friends to buy GHD's but wont anymore if the quality is this bad...bad decision# not value for money# unhappy customer# rating this as poor !

Waste of money

Was happy with this straightener within the first year, however after three years it has decided to stop heating up and beeps at me. Considering the money paid you would think you are buying quality. I have owned a $20 Remington for over seven years and it still works perfectly. Don't buy unless you only want it temporarily.

Terrible! Dont waste your money

While I loved my old ghd, which I had for 6 years, this one only lasted 12 months! considering the price I expected them to last much longer. My set bunked out this morning with flashing red light and constant beeping, and it will no longer heat up anymore. A quick google s arch and I can see this is an isdue lots of people are having. Not sure if I still have my receipt, but I will NOT be buying another ghd. wish these reviews were available before I spent the money!

This is good!!

I have only had my Ghds rose gold for about a week now,and they are good, they leave the hair feeling smooth and they are honestly the best straighteners i have had. I like my hair being dead straight and the Ghds unfortunately don't give me that look, which is a shame, although they don't straighten deadly straight they are still pretty good, they are extremely hot,so try and use heat protect spray, amazing quality and is so so quick to turn on,i wouldn't recommend them to someone who was perfect dead flat straight hair, because they add more of a lift to your hair, very good!!

New products have declined rapidly compared to original models

Had my old GHD for years, loved it. It was on its way out and I had some spare cash so thought I would treat myself to a new one. Big mistake. The quality of the new ones has dropped so much! I used my friends $50 target one and it worked better than the new GHD. Very disappointing! They had such a great name and they have thrown it all away for a cheaper tacky product. If anyone can recommend a great quality brand for a new one I would appreciate it! Thanks

Rubbish Not happy not worth the money anymore!

My old ghd styler died, so had to go purchase a new one.
Absolute rubbish! I rang and was told to go where I had purchased it and they'll show me how to use it! HELLO!
It's not the first one I'm using, been using them 15yrs or so.
Doesn't grip hair and have to go over and over a few times to get the same results from my old one
not happy.
Don't understand when something is good why go changing for newer models.

Worst customer service

I bought a brand new latest styler from hair house warehouse in April 2014 in May 2014. The styler just stopped working. I took it to the store they said we don't do anything I need to contact Ghd. I contacted then they said one week. What ended up taking 4 weeks. Talking to rude staff who would give me a day then nothing! It's a one month old $300 styler. I would expect a better replacement time than 4 weeks. The staff were extremely rude to deal with. After this one fails I'm never buying God again

Total waist of money

The cherry blossom ghd is nothing but a marketing product. It does not heat up. It pulls hair. And most annoying of all the plates are so hin and small it takes me over an hour to get mu hair done. So basically i get over doing my hair before my hair gets done.
So pathetic. Thats all im saying.

5 years and counting

I have had my GHD for 5+ years now and still looks and feels fine.
It does the job. Considering it cost nearly $300 and has lasted me for 5 years and counting I say it's a great investment for me anyways. I have yet to try these other ones my hair dressers use.
I do have to point out I do put product in my hair before and after straightening it. It makes a difference.
I can curl with it as well however I use my curling iron as its gives my bigger loose curls. It does give that flick at the ends.
good long term investment
expensive

Every girl needs one.

Great hair straightener. I see why GHD has the reputation that it does. You are able to use it for a variety of styles such as curling the hair, just a matter of knowing how to use it and having the patience to play around with it. However, I have now had it for over three years, and it's starting to show. The coating on the ceramic plates seems to be wearing off unfortunately, so it does tend to pull on the hair now.

It does wear out with time.

Very dissapointed

I have wanted a ghd for years because everyone says how good they are. I bought the mark 1V today as it was on special for $189. $50 less than regular price.
I have had a silver bullet and it is a vastly superior product.
Ghd has really let me down its a mediocre product.
I was indecisive between buying a halo or ghd well the halo straightener that my hair dresser uses sh#ts all over ghd.
If I had used a ghd before purchase NO WAY would I have bought it.. Sad that I've wasted my hard earned cash on this :(
Nothing
Mediocre product that doesn't live up to its reputation.

Apparently the older ones are better than the new ghds, they seem very basic for the money you pay for them.

2mm gap?

Do all Ghd come with a 2mm gap at the end now?
I have called them so many times I just don't know what to do, the 2mm gap they said its in all the new editions, but there have been news of the Ghd's have the 2mm gap seen 2010.
the one I had for a gift didn't have a 2mm.
I wish I could just have my old broken one back, as it was a gift.
Bad costumer service.

It seems to be a bad trend appearing with many oz stores. You really need to find a store that is honest and they are very rare these days of push selling.

This is an essential item! Works like a charm

GHD is truly an amazing hair styling tool. You can create so many amazing different styles, I absolutely love mine. And the style stays in until you wet it. I went to a wedding the other day and my style lasted for 9 hours, still looking perfect at the end. And I travel a lot so having universal voltage is amazing!! I would highly recommend it.
Comes with a heat protector, and works really well

Great

I got my GHD in early 2011 and it's still working perfectly. They have quite a selection of colours etc so I'm kinda looking forward to when the time comes to purchase a new one. I find curling hair with it to be ok, but I could understand if others might find it difficult.

Have no regrets with this purchase, would recommend.
Works great

Heard of cloud nine??

I was hell bent on getting a ghd for Christmas, I have used my friends older one and loved it. I tried the muk straightner and it did nothing for me. I went into a salon looking for a ghd and both of the ladies suggested the cloud nine, they say it's so much better than the ghd and that one of the brothers in ghd branched out on his own and created the cloud nine. I bought the cloud nine and came home and read the reviews and I'm so grateful I decided against the ghd. I haven't tried my cloud nine yet, when I do I will defiantly write a review. I would seriously recommend looking at the cloud nine if considering buying a ghd.

Feeling better about GHD now thanks to good customer service

Whilst I am disappointed my GHD styler stopped working shortly after the warranty period ran out, GHD have agreed to honour the warranty anyway and replace my hair straighteners. I had some difficulty in contacting GHD because there was an error in the 0800 number in the FAQ part of their website, but they will be fixing that soon. So aside from the inconvenience (for which they apologised), all's well that ends well, and my faith in GHD customer service is restored.
Nice styler and good warranty service
Expensive but broke after 2 years

3 Years old, still working great.

I bought this in 2010 and it is seriously one of the best products I have ever owned, all cheaper or comparable products I bought before this I regretted and they never did the job as quick and easy as this one does. So many hairdressers try to talk me into buying their new 'state of the art' straighteners even when I repeatedly tell them I am happy with mine. Highly recommend.
Easy to use, heats up in seconds and has a auto shut off system when left too long.

essential for every girl

i bought my GHD's last october, i dont use them as often as a lot of people, usually only when i am going out. i keep them packaged in the original box including bubble wrap. i left them switched on and forgot about them about a month ago (woke up late was in a hurry and just forgot to straighten my hair or that they were even on) stressed out a little but when i returned an hour later they were still on but had gone cold and were beeping. switched them off kicking myself thinking they were messed up but they work perfectly. i couldnt live without them!!
reliable, fast heating, turn themselves off if left on too long
expensive but if they last 5+ years i guess it evens out

Not happy at all!!!

At first loved my ghd! Until every 6-12 months it stopped working and had to be replaced for no good reason! One even overheated and caught fire in the middle of it being used! They were replaced under fault but as my last one just stopped working they won't replace it after a warranty of a brand new straightener of ONLY 6 months broke after 8 months! Was never informed or given notification of 6 month warranty! Worst customer service over the phone! 5 in 4 years! Not good enough for an original purchase of over $300!!!

Ghd

I brought my ghd 8 years ago, I use it on myself, and am a hairdresser that works from home and I can use it up to 7/8 times a day.I would use it everyday too. Love it. It sadly died last week and am unsure which one to buy next as we didnt have all those options when I brought mine. Any recommendations??

So disappointed

Having had the original GHD for over 6 years, it was no longer working very well and I had dropped it twice and had to get the ceramic bit changed. I decided to buy a new one and opted for the silver metallic as it was on sale for $249. I was so very disappointed as it was absolutely useless. It didn't do a good job and took ages. I returned it immediately. I have just bought the Remmington Pearl for $99 and it is wonderful. It is just like the original GHD and one third the price. I would advise anyone thinking of investing in a GHD to go with the Remmington Pearl and save your money.
Nothing

Amazing

I have my GHD since I was 16, I am now almost 24. That's almost 8 years and its been through the wars (fingers crossed I don't jinx it!) I have naturally curly hair and the GHD makes it so easy to style my hair every day!

Love it will never live without it!

My favourite appliance!

I love my ghd! I don't know what I would do without it. I have fine hair that needs straightening or it's messy and mousy so the straightener is used every morning without fail. I even use it on my daughters hair and she loves it too! Best with Moroccan oil.

Love It!

I previously had a straightener which was around half the price of my GHD, The first time I used my GHD I was absolutely blown away with how fast it straightened my hair. My hair is very thick and curly and it took 20 minutes from out of the shower wet to dead straight! I will never look back, I only wish I had brought one sooner! If your in doubt don't be, its the best straightener I have ever had and I will never buy another brand again.

Disappointed

I purchased a Ghd gold classic series hair straightener from Rodney Wayne almost 3 years ago.
The thermal fuse blew-out recently this year, so my dad purchased another thermal fuse and repaired it himself following online instructions. But then again the thermal fuse only lasted about a week and then blew-out again, so he purchased yet another one from a repair company but this time it over heated and the backing plate of the plate where the thermal fuse is located cracked and the plate was falling out.
very disappointed that i payed $300 for it, and it only lasted 2 and a half years!

And no refund back

Doo not purchase this straightener.. I warn you waste of money
(doesn't even deserve 1 star)

BEST $300 I've ever spent!

My husband bought this for me over 7 years ago! (GHD HOT PINK), and to this day it works like magic. I have ALOT of hair and its very frizzy but with the GHD i can straighten my hair in minutes! And at one point my hair was so long, i wouldnt have survived without my GHD!
Heats up quick, does the job, straightens hair quickly

GHD Precious Set

I have the limited edition precious set and have been using the straighteners for over two years now and absolutely love them. I've previously used Remington's and a couple other cheap brands and the GHD's run rings around any other straightens I've tried. They heat up super quickly and the straightening plates don't snag my hair as I straighten which was a problem I'd had with every other straightener I'd used previously. I also love the safety feature where they go into standby if you don't switch the power off and they're not used in a certain length of time as I'm really bad at remembering to switch them off!
