Still awaiting a reply of the repairs to the camvas on my Camper. 8 Months now.
This is what awaited us on unfolding the camper on Saturday morning. (The Canvas was torn in 5 different panels) just inside the door. I'm pretty sure that my camper was towed behind the truck and the canvas must have been stuck in the hinge or touching the metal folding ladder folded up inside the door. I wasn't told that my camper would be towed down? I was let to believe that it would be put on the tray of a truck? So my new camper was not new when I picked it up in Melbourne from Sydney
There is a lot of great features and a few dodgy ones...Read more
as well, how are you supposed to do the dishes in the sink with the only way to turn off the water is by laying the tap down horizontally in the Sink, unless you go around the back and turn off the power? I have now installed a switch to turn the water on and off. The rear mudguards, One mudguard had the bolts done up so tight it was almost cutting through the rubber while the other was so loose I could undo the locknut by hand, I fixed this by adding a washer to the outside to give the bolt some more surface area to clamp down onto the rubber. Silicon sealants were hit and miss, the amount of silicon around the sink was terrible, the hose connected onto the rear of the tap was done up so tight it cut the hose and water poured out from under the sink the first time we turned it on. I'm replacing all of the hoses with braided plumbing connection hoses so they will last, the plastic hose and connections are disgraceful. I have pictures of the dodgy stuff and what I have done to rectify it to a standard I think acceptable to match the rest of the trailer, don't get me wrong, I think it's a great camper trailer but the last 5% that would make it a fantastic trailer has been missed. I Have been negotiating with GIC Re the repairs since March 2014, now Feb 2015, still no answer if GIC will cover the costs of the Canvas repairs here in Melbourne. The last email I received back from GIC was before Xmas, They have not replied since.

t's all good and I will finally have the camper I paid for all those months ago. IanThe camper has been as far north as Bramwell Station ( 2014 )just below the start of the Old Telegraph Track, we did the rest with a tent, and over the Xmas 2015-2016 break we did just under 9000km to... Read more
uring the bottom of WA all the way to Perth and back home to Melbourne, the camper performed as I had expected without a problem, towing it at 110km an hour was not an issue, Still tweaking the camper, I have removed one of the spare wheels and bracket from the rear of the camper and replaced it with a box to store all the canvas & wheel chocks. After traveling thousands of Km I decided that I didn't need 2 spare wheel on the rear of the camper as I changed the camper wheels to the same as my patrol so I still have 2 spares anyway. I also replaced the 2 Gerry can holders and 1 - 9KG gas bottles at the front of the camper ( You don't need 2 - 9KG gas bottles ) with a Checker plate slide out tool box to store all my tools and odds and ends in and then purchased a single Gerry can holder that I fitted in the spare space between the new box and the stone guard. As I said before its a great camper.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

This product has faults that don't seem to fit the Hype.
I have owned a new Black series dominator since July 2014 and have found it to be far from the quality and marketed product it has been pro ported to be. I am told that most of my problems are from wear and tear after traveling from Sydney, pick up to the Gulf and back to Brisbane around 10,000km!
Starting from the delivery there have been a litany of disappointments that in this day would not be expected.
We travelled with my brother in law who had a very old Aussie Swag that had not been loved and not a mark, failure, or effect was apparent...Read more

e GIC DOMINATOR’s are the best value in the price range for: quality fit-outs, Hammertone finish and all important undercarriage. As all customers (from around Qld, NSW & the NT) that come in to speak to me will know… they are definitely not the finish of comparable Aussie manufactured campers that are at least “twice, triple or more” the price of a GIC hard floor. On the other hand the Extreme Off Road Camper Trailer range under $8.000 is what GIC has built its reputation on. Over ten years manufacturing “Australian made logo trailers” that are “absolute tanks” is a source of pride. However the more expensive imported models (over $8k launched this year) cannot be as bullet proof as some of the $40- $60k Trailers. 99% of the time I say this to customers on arrival at the showroom.Hi Barry,
All vehicles have problems. Your facts are quite wrong about the conditions, there were motorhomes on many of the unsealed roads.

Well I have picked up my Camper from the repairer Caravan Repair Centre and all problems less the suspension bushes have been fixed. My fault there as I had forgotten to have that included. Bushes sup... Read more
plied so looks like I will have to do this one myself. By far the most disappointing fault was the number of gaps in the body which let in so much dust. Which any interested person assembling or worse building this product would have been able to see and fix with two maybe three tubes of good sealant. An annoying outcome has been Barry's shallow attack. This explained a lot about policy.

Hi,
Just recently bought a 2020 Black series Dominator and just over the weekend took it out for the long weekend for the very first time. Since purchase it has been in the garage and always plugged straight into 240v mains to trickle charge the battery. Whilst camping I used the inverter and watched a bit of tv and watched movies and some games. The charge level got down to 70% so we got out the generator and popped it on to charge it back up again. However it never got any higher than 85% on the instrument panel read out even with the inverter turn off and nothing else on except the fridge.
Now I’m home and go to plug the charger back onto 240v and it seems nothing is happening. No light comes on the charger at all. Makes no noise like it did when I first got it home and charged it. Usually if fully charger the LED with be green am I right?
Also I read on here that there is a “selector switch” or breaker to switch between mains and solar? Where is that? Also do the breaker switches need to be engaged for the charger to work? Bit confused. Why would the charger work before we left to camp and now it doesn’t seem to want to work? Answers or help is very much appreciated as it’s got me beat.
Benny.

Hi I just purchased a second hand Patron and wanted to know the best way to charge the batteries? Is there an inlet for 240v?

Hi Dan
The best way to charge the battery will be with at least a 10amp smart charger.
