Now I am cranky!! Cranky enough to get on here and make a comment!! I cannot open this product, I am one of those older people mentioned elsewhere. I wont buy again until you make the changes needed

I have arthritis in my hands and cannot open this product. I have to cut it open. Please listen to your customers and come up with a better idea for the lid - it is impossible. Will not buy again unless you make some changes.

Cannot get the lid off. Have tried all the tools I can find, still won’t budge. Will not buy again until improvements made to lid. Have asked around and all my female friends have same problem. Yes, we are elderly but still need to use a toilet cleaner!

Might be a good product but I will never know. It is impossible to get lid off. Same problem with White asking toilet gel - hence I changed to Harpic - won’t be buying either again. They are unopened!

First time I’ve purchased Harpic white and shine. Probably be the last. This is impossible to open. How do older people open this. Not user friendly at all. Have to wait until someone can open the damn thing before I get to try it. Toilets will have to wait

The cap is too difficult to squeeze and twist off. I had to cup the tip off with a knife, to get the product out. I'm a pianist so have good hand strength and co-ordination, so it should not be hard for me to open.

Can't open the tops which I've never had trouble with before. Husband can't do it either. I'm furious because I've bought six bottles. Only way I could get one open was to cut the top off and prise the rest off with pliers. Won't buy this again.

Some idiot has changed the cap design, 2 bottles have had to be cut open as impossible to open. We are changing to another brand after buying Harpic fo 25 years am now, thanks to some idiots new design to make lid even more childproof, moving to another brand.

Half of these Harpic White and Shine bottles do not open, however hard you squeeze and turn, as per the directions for opening.
Poor value for money, if half the purchases can't be used.

This is a good product. There is a major issue with opening the bottle. I have talked to others in my family and they have the same issue.
I am lucky that my husband uses his tools to open it. If I was alone as my mother is I wouldn't purchase this product.
There has to be a better way to make this product safe!

I like this product but the lid is way too hard to get off (I literally can't do it if my husband isn't home) so I won't buy it again and I'm a reasonably strong 50 something.

I cannot remove the lid and totally agree with other reviewers that This is a useless piece of design that should be recalled and improved. Did the company not field test the cap before putting on the market?

What is wrong with you!!! Who can open these without a tool box target market include ladies over 60,we simply cannot squeeze and twist. i will need to find another product.

I will not be buying this product anymore because I cannot get the lid off. I want a product that is ready to use when I am ready to use it and not have to rely on someone with stronger hands.

I like this product. Easy to use and it does the job. Unfortunately some of the caps just don't work. I can't get some of the bottles to open at all and I end up having to buy a new one and discard the unopened bottle. Bad for the environment and my wallet and my trust into the product.

Reckitt & Benckiser: I cannot give your product any kind of good review if I cannot even use the product due to the lid refusing to open. I have injured myself trying. Please change the lid. I am on a low income, and cannot afford this kind of waste. The only way I am going to be able to use this is to puncture the bottle and decant to a different container, and we all know that this is a terrible practice. I will not be buying again until I am notified by some means that this problem has been addressed.

I bought one of these about 12 months ago, couldn't get the lid off then bought 3 of them a couple of days ago, (I clean an office building) once again, couldn't get any of the lids off!!
Then while I was shopping at Coles yesterday, a lady who works there was packing shelves, I asked her if she could get any of the lids off, she tried and she couldn't get any of them off either.
So, as the same problem occurred last year and again this week, it's not like it's a one off problem. Don't buy it, you won't get the lid off.

Useless for me! The product inside the bottle is possibly very effective, but I had to return it to the supermarket as I couldn't open the lid. I'll buy another brand.

I have used Harpic White & Shine for a few years and have been pleased with it and have not had a problem opening it even though it is a bit difficult at first. That is until recently. I have returned two bottles to our IGA as neither myself nor my husband could open the container. The man at the IGA couldn't open them either. The same with the third bottle. I have now thrown it out and will buy a different product. I know you are trying to protect children but to use any old phrase "you are throwing out the baby with the bath water!" Please change the lid!

I am very happy with your product BUT cannot get lid of either of two I bought last week! We live in the country, so have a ‘spare’ waiting. However neither I nor my husband can get the lids off! Bother - I can’t believe that this problem has not been rectified with all the complaints you have received going back at least four years. The previous one (bought some time ago as a ‘spare’ has a slightly different catch line on the bottle. Maybe your design was changed at some stage - or you have a different plastic bottle supplier? PLEASE do something about your safety-lid design.
