ihave a 2009 lx collie and replaced brake/tail with led. issue is. brake works fine but i have no tail lights. there is power in curcuit. ive tested the leds directly off as battery and they work fine. ive placed a resistor in the circuit but still nothing. wat am i missing?

May be due to the 'sophisticated' CANBUS electrical monitoring system that is detecting an incorrect current (amps) flow in the circuit and registering a fault.

I'm not sure but, as it charges the battery I would assume it's roughly, 13.5 volts but, free to double check with holden australia

Driving along today and turned my lights on and all the warning lights came on?? 4h lights. Fuel light. Abs light... the lot. Pulled over to restart the engine only to have happen 20 mins later?? That seems like you've got a problem within the stalk .I would recommend to take the vehicle to a holden australia workshop or perhaps a reasonable auto electrician workshop may be able to help.
I also found ultratune experts at diagnosis and repairs of faults.

Just wondering if anyone can help identify a plastic part on my 2008 3lt Diesel Colorado. Just after the fuel cooler there is a plastic valve that has four connections for the fuel out and fuel in lines. I have broken this and as a temp fix am running a couple of fuel line connectors.
Can anyone tell me what this plastic valve does and what its called? I cant get to a Holden dealer at the moment. And none of the local spares places has a clue. Is it some kind of equalizer ?

Yeah thanks. Yes turns out, thats exactly what it is. Its just a pressure valve to let any excess build up in the fuel forward line to run into fuel back line. $57.00 peice of plastic.

help please,rc 2008 turbo diesel colarado when i turn key it starts runs approx 5 sec then turns off,repeatedly
it will start and run normally if I start and use gas pedal.

It seems like the pump though, I would recommend to take the vehicle to a holden australia workshop or perhaps a reasonable diesel engine specialist workshop may be able to help.
If these 2 suggestions don't work - it might be a problem with the electrics - if so then perhaps a reasonable auto electrician workshop may be able to help.
I also found ultratune experts at diagnosis and repairs of faults though, I'm not sure if they repair and service diesel engines or it's just petrol powered motors - you will have to contact ultratune and ask one of their employees
You could also get the workshop staff to also check the diesel oxy converter - this also has the chance to cause the problem you have described

2008 colorado goes into limp mode and engine light is on if I do not rev engine in first 5 seconds of starting then is fine for rest of drive until I have to start again then it's back to reving (1500 RPM) for first 5 seconds. Any ideas?

It seems like this could be a problem with the automatic choke though, I would recommend to take the vehicle to a holden australia workshop or a reasonable mechanicalrepairs and servicing workshop ( which would likely be cheaper )
Or if the problem ends up being with the electrics then perhaps a reasonable auto electrician workshop may be able to help.
I also found ultratune experts at diagnosis and repairs of faults or at least the local ultratune really know their stuff and should be able to detect and fix your fault depending if you can get to one of their workshops
The problem appears to have fixed itself which perhaps also points to your diagnosis being the correct one - with the automatic choke playing up to some degree. I will suggest your idea to a mechanic if the problem surfaces again. Thankyou for your advice

My 2009 Colorado which has the 3 litre Isuzu engine shuts down with out warning no codes appear on code reader for dealer and roadside service guy th unit will start almost imediatey and may run for 2000 km before it happens again it may go longer does anyone have ideas?

It seems like a good idea to take the vehicle to a totally different independent mechanical repairs and servicing workshop.
I would recommend to have the vehicle towed to there or if the problem is within the electrics then perhaps a reasonable auto electrician workshop may be able to help.
I also found ultratune experts at diagnosis and repairs of faults - at least the crew at the local ultratune really know their stuff so ultratune should be able to help you.

I just purchased a 2011 Holden Colorado with 46,000km. Serviced by the dealer. I noticed lots of black oil residue on turbo and inlet throttle body, and also quite alot that has dripped down onto the front diff under the turbo...I think the guy before towed a boat and under load a lot as the rear shocks are crap. Taking the oil filler cap off at idle...well don't ! Puffs like a steam train and sends pressure and oil mist everywhere. Is this normal ? I have a feeling the enhjne is gummed up so what can I do to sort this please ? As I want to look after it....I can take the intercooler off and clean it and the throttle body...but what about the turbo inlet side and inside the engine. Thanks Chris

I hope I am wrong but from what you wrote the symptoms are telling me that there is a cracked piston or broken rings for the engine to pressureise there must be compression passing into the sump and that has to come from the top past the pistons either via rings which are worn or a hole in the piston, get a mechanic to give it a compression check. Good luck.

I was servicing a friends Colorado RC and we noticed this and started looking for a new engine
until we checked other vehicles that blow just as much oil out with quite low Kms

I have a 2011 RC Crew Cab 4x4 LX-R Colorado and since buying it brand new in 2011, we have had multiple issues with the clutch.
Just want to see what is out there issue wise

heavy duty aftermarket clutch kit. will cost you less in long run.stay away from holden dealers. as am engineer when under warranty would check work done. they are concomitant and dont care. will cost you big time. accc are not interested. if you cant do it your self ask around and find some one that can. they are very easy engines to work on compared to some..

Can anyone tell me why my low fuel warning light does not display in my 2011 LTR 3ltr Colorado turbo diesel? I purchased it second hand but have never seen the light glow, even when close to empty. An orange fuel light does glow on start up so I know it's there.

You may actually have never taken it down far enough to see the fuel light. Which is good as the turbo needs the diesel to work.
I have only seen mine once and that was so I could see it. Hahaha
