wonderful, wonderful car. Goes how you want a vehicle to go.
Purchased this vehicle in 2016 as a low km demo model from a well known Holden Dealership. Cannot fault the car which is a station wagon on dedicated gas. It has now down over 60,000 km and still going strong. The road holding of this vehicle is without parallel amongst some of the best in any car i have driven. The interior is excellent and very quiet. I am still on the original tyres and other than two minor services and one major service (log book service) the car has been without issue. The climate control air condition works super efficient on even the hottest day and even without the air con on, there are plenty of options to get fresh air into the vehicle. At the end of the day, it is a safe, reliable and enjoyable vehicle to drive.

Shows that they are closing up shop
Car is really good however a few idiosyncrasies let it down.
GPS - even with an update to the latest data (released 4 weeks after purchase) it still is missing data for estates that are over 7-yrs old. Additionally it doesn't have complete speed data for roads that are over 25-yrs old. This results in the system suggesting routes that are considerably longer and slower. It really irks me that my wife's 2-yr old 'imported Captiva' maps are more accurate that a home grown item. Holden's solution, have a $250 giftcard to buy a stand-alone unit....Read more
Auto-lights - Somebody had a bright idea to change the sensor that measure the ambient light to a unit that is not adjustable. The result is that the system will consider that you are driving in the dark and need your headlights on if the sensor gets a slight shadow over it, ie driving with sun behind you, even at 2 in the afternoon. Yes you can turn the auto function off which brings the Daytime running lights back on, HOWEVER it doesn't return the interior dash lighting to it's day intensity. If you like having the dash lights down dim at night, this results in the loss of your main warning panel and console display panel. If you are using the GPS, it puts it into night mode. Holden's suggested fix, turn the dash lights up and go into the menu and selected Navigation to always be in Day mode. Then at night time, change it all back again to how you want it. On the positive side, it has plenty of poke and the HUD makes for some fun driving, seeing what G-forces you can bring up through corners. I can run it to work and back at 8.5 - 9.5 L/100k and have taken it on a long trip yet to see how low it can go.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great car for money these days
I bought my car in october. It is ss model with v8 engine. The interior is much better quality and feel than the previous model and it has heap of power. It does use lots of petrol around town but that is managable on highway. Great family car with tons of boot space

Gunna miss them
I reckon there won't be too many like the VF generation to be honest. Everything's getting more and more focussed on being greeny friendly which means less fuel and less power plus they're not even made here anymore so the quality will go down sooner or later. Can't say a bad thing about my clubby, excellent car, quick as a grey hound tough as a pit bull shame it will be he last one I buy.

Great buy
This is the first time I have owned & driven a manual V8 and it makes me smile every time I take it out.
Still running it in with the complimentary 1000km inspection due in a week. T I don't plan on making any modifications to it as it sounds amazing even with the stock setup.
Those of you who have already bought one..this is a keeper.

Great family car
Great on Kilometres. I've had a Holden Commodore previous to this one. Best features are the Cruise Control, great boot space. The dash is electonic helping me track speeds easily. I can also answer any incoming calls quickly and easily. The stereo is hooked up to bluetooth so I can listen to radio or iphone tunes. Excellent Braking system and loads of window wiper options for rainy days. The demister works very quickly clearing the windscreen for driving. Good miles and excellent on fuel consumption. A good go anywhere family car. Love the shape too, very sporty.

Holden Commodore SS Reviewer
Purchased a manual SS a month ago in the same slipstream blue. I had been saving up for a few years since the news came out that it will be no more beyond 2017.
As a few of you have mentioned, I would've loved a manual sportwagon in slipstream blue, however, Holden stopped manufacturing SS sportwagons in manual.
And since I am not planning on doing any track work, I gave the Redline a miss & saved $10k which will buy me a lot of fuel to enjoy this beast. Furthermore, the standard SS is harder to find whereas the Redlines are a dime & dozen ...Read more

Great all round road car
Purchased new with the standard fitup. I have been nothing but impressed with the entire setup of the car.
From the brakes to handling, performance from the 260kw 6.0lt engine (auto), comfort, and all the gadgets:- Bose stereo, nav, auto park assist, head display, Aircon, sunroof and the Active Fuel Management (AFM). Drove to QLD from Melb and went as far north as Cooktown. Apart from a couple of flat tyres the car didn't miss a beat. Cruising at the regulation speeds I would have manage to get 900km out if the 71ltr tank if I had have run it dry. If you wanted a good all round car then a 2nd hand one with low Km's would be perfect.

I love my SV6 Sportswagon! (love at first sight)
Before you call me a one eyed Holden nut, lets get one thing straight. Until 2014 I totally ignored Holden and wrote off Commodores as rough unrefined Boganmobiles (I now regret my ignorance).
I've named her Holly, because of the Regal Peacock paint (dark green) and having a gorgeous accent (female voice) for the voice command. Voice command for dialing phone numbers, issuing Sat nav commands, etc. works great by the way. She was given to me as a company car with my previous employer. My previous Commodore drive was a VN / VR and VC which di...Read more
d not impress so hence my flaw in judging a brand on a previous experience! Having moved from a Daewoo and Suzuki Swift small car I could not miss the level of refinement, comfort, performance and street presence this car has! Winding the clock forward 14 months the employer I worked for folded up and I decided I could not leave Holly behind! Financially it made a lot of sense to buy her out for $31K (was $43K optioned up) at only 18 months old. I have ridden in some upmarket cars such as BMW, Mercedes Benz, etc. in the past and I still cannot get over how Holden have made such a rewarding and relatively refined car to drive for such a modest outlay. The one thing these overseas cars can't give you is the strong patriotic feeling you get driving something special that is Australian made. The 3.6 Litre V6 / 6 speed auto never disappoints for performance (and not bad an engine note) despite being a little thirsty for short drives in town (13/14 L/100KM) I've managed to get almost 900 KM on a tank interstate dipping into the low 7's / L100KM. However given the 1750 KG weight you can't have everything. That extra weight really help high speed cruising and surefooted road handling.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

great car
I love my new car. the driving experience is amazing. I love the way it looks inside and out. It has a great handing and great braking as well. great Aussie car. I am just sad that the production will be stopped.
I just feel that it needs a higher engine size to have more power.

Great family car!
Bought this car in April 2016 for our first family car when we were expecting in august 2016. We have done almost 21thousand Km's in our blue beast and it has been the safest 21thousand km's I've ever driven. Ample foot space for my 6ft3 partner, my 6ft4 brother, 6ft8 father in law and 6ft5 father. Easy to attach a capsule and upright car seat in plenty of room for 2 other people in the back seat at the same time. Large boot; however boot opening is smaller then others so something getting large things in is a bit tricky but plenty of space whi...Read more
le in there. Can easily fit a pram, weeks groceries, portacot and huge picnic rug in with more room to spare. Only criticism is that the head rests in the back seat are attached and not able to lifted or lowered and that the seat belt buckle had a grippy coating on it that means depending on the position on the front seats it sometimes grips to the wall of the door and requires a good yank to get through. Well worth the money we paid when you look at all the safety features and technology in the car! Love it!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great value (not sure about the future models)
Handling, braking, performance great. Does use more fuel than a Corolla or Hyundai - but what do you expect for the level of performance, load carrying and safety? Gets 8 l/100km on open road which surely is OK. Engine sounds great in V8, acceptable in my other car which is a V6. Hope new model is as good.

Navigating Maps Upgrade
Have just had the maps upgraded after a 3 year wait for a upgrade only to find the cost to upgrade was a total waste as they do not include the area I live in which is over 2 years since they started construction on the estates and my home is 8 months old so just be aware if you are thinking of upgrading as it is also expensive

Brilliant car, beautiful to drive and comfortable seats
Beautiful to drive, handles great and has. Dry little interior noise. Tha lighting on the dash is excellent and the stereo system and Navman are very easy to use. There is ample room for all passengers and especially the rear seats. Passengers always compliment the comfort of the seats and the legroom they have. Running costs are a little high but reliability is on point.

Great car
Performance handling and fuel economy first rate. Ability to seat 5 in comfort. Has all the convenience items in a sporty package yet service costs are low. Brakes excellent and handle day to day driving with ease. Unfortunately they stop manufacturing this year so the next best option is a Beemer

Real world review of VF2 Evoke
Car handles and drive exceptionally.
Interior features are excellent with comfortable seats and able to find a perfect driving position.
Only issue is the thick B pillars which can restrict vision especially at roundabouts.
Fuel economy has been excellent with city about 9lt/100km and highway best has been 6.5 per 100 kms.
Warranty issues have been new steering rack replaced at 10,000kms and aircond overflow leaking into cabin with the later still to be fixed. Now fixed
Engine power is ok but needs the 3.6ltr for more overtaking torque on highway.
Good Aussie car though.

The good, the bad and the ugly...
I picked up a SV6 auto wagon and drove around Sydney and then onto Melbourne and around that city. I own and drive an FGX XR8 auto so was keen to compare. Vehicle had 30K kms on the clock
DRIVING - First noted the steering was a little lighter than the Ford. Handling of the Ford was better too but then comparing the SV6 against the XR8 may be a little unfair. Transmission is smooth and road noise is very low. Engine lacks a little performance but is smooth. Economy was reasonable - much better than the XR8. A pillar is obstructive of front and...Read more
