Once product is bought whether it’s faulty or not, they don’t care
I purchased a damashiro knife 7 in October 2017 for $199 with the specific knife sharpener for $60 and after just one week of using the knives) which is meant to be the best Japanese steel knives) they to get less sharp by the day so I use the sharpener, it works for a day or so but then back to blunt knives, I called so many times, went into the store (Carindale Westfield) they kept asking me to come back with the knife block set (which was so inconvenient) and finally said it will be replaced with a new set as it’s faulty, after one month of ...Read more
dealing with unpleasant customer service staff of that shop. So once I got the replacement I got back home and realize that only two bigger knives would rest upfront into the knife block, the rest didn’t and kept falling off, I called straight away and once again am told that it’s got to be reassessed to bring the whole thing back etc... the staff [name removed] was very cocky and careless and just couldn’t be bothered Never ever buy anything from this store as they are Little angles in persuading you to purchase the best quality products they sell but once you pay your DOOM. Disgusting Appalling and should really be reported to consumer fair trading.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Don't accidentally buy the wrong thing at House because my money is now their money
Bought an on sale frypan from House. Got it home and realised it wasnt suitable for induction. Silly me. Took it back within an hour and no they don't do refunds. Either buy something else of the same value I dont want or spend lots more money to get the induction one. Next time I'll just buy it at Big W or Kmart because they'd have induction suitable pans at half the cost of House on sale.

Very dodgy policies
I have tried to return the item I bought that was unfortunately double-gift for my friend. They were making excuses it can be done only by store manager that is in the store only on Tuesdays and Saturdays. And in the end because of their fault it was already late for the exchange as the 14 days (?!) period from the purchase expired.
Very poor customer service. Do not recommend!

I will never shop at House Homewares.......
I purchased a saucepan set for $200 recently, and after bringing the set home, felt that it was not suitable. The pans were very light compared to my current saucepans, size of pans were very small too. I went back to the store 5 days later, with the all items intact, in original packaging, with the receipt. When I asked for a refund, the store assistant said "WE DO NOT OFFER REFUNDS. ONLY EXCHANGE OR STORE CREDIT". I was so surprised at that, as I had seen online that they offer full refund for change of mind if you purchase items on li...Read more
ne. When I said that if I had known that no refunds were available I would not have purchased the goods. The answer from the assistant was, "WE CANT TELL EVERYONE THE STORE POLICY". I then said that the store did not display the returns policy anywhere, it isn't even documented on the receipt. Their response was, "WE CANT TELL EVERYONE THE RETURNS POLICY". Of course they cant or should I say wont tell customers, as they would lose a large amount of business. What I don't accept is that, how can there be different policies within an organisation? I said I was not happy with this decision and escalated the matter to both the customer service, and also the regional manager. They still did not change their minds. I think this is so unfair and unjust as they did not make the policy aware in the store at the time of purchase. Needless to say I am not happy with this response and will take this further, both legally and via consumer affairs. It is the Principal of the Matter now.... Would love to hear if anyone else has had similar problems, issues and what the outcome was. But for now, all I can say is Buyer beware!! Think twice or maybe more before you purchase at a store that does not clearly provide you with details on returns policy....................

Stay Away... I repeat,... STAY AWAY!!
Bought $950 worth of pots, and similar items from HOUSE Warehouse, after using one of the pots a couple of times ONLY within less than 2 weeks, non-stick layer started coming off like mandarine skin!
We took all items back to the store, they refused to take them back for a full refund, instead offered me a gift card!! What kind of return policy is that?!

A pathetic product sold with a guarantee of pathetic customer service.
We bought a Baccarat stock pot from the House store in Fountain gate. This was great we made soup and stocks a handful of times. And used for nothing else. Unfortunately the bottom started flaking out. Leaving us in short heartbroken.
We approached the store and they quickly diverted to the customer service/head office. The wife made contact via email. The response was please forward some photos. Which we did. Response was we are sorry for all inconvenience please supply your address and we will send you a new one. We did. But no new pot arri...Read more

brusk, unfriendly staff at Springvale Homemaker Centre store
Went there yesterday. They have a very unfriendly female staff there. Didn't like you spending more than a few seconds choosing things. Kept walking pass to shoot you dirty glances and was curt and rough in tone of voice and body language, even when we're paying for your purchase. You get the feeling that she just wanted you out of her store. Very unwelcoming. Frankly, nobody cares even if she owned the entire chain. Nobody needs that kind of treatment.

Refund
I accidentally purchased the wrong pan from the Wuarn Ponds franchise for my wife and in less than an hour of realising this I went back to the store and refused to refund my money as it was against store policy if you change your mind. They would only offer a gift card or credit. I understood this but it was an accident not a change of mind. Even the manager refused to help. This is terrible business practice and one that is terrible word of mouth for the company.

Rude stuff at Karrinyup store
I had to return an item and a young girl at the counter spoke to me as if I was returning something a stole. Quite short and very superior. I thought that maybe she is just like that but then I noticed her serving other customers in a much friendlier manner. Meanwhile I had to wait for nearly 20 min with a crying toddler with me. She said I had to wait for a manager who can complete the transaction which is understandable. But it was just the manner she spoke to me and looked at me, as if I was beneath her. Thankfully, the manager arrived who was really lovely and sorted everything in 2 min. Just a very dissapointing experience. Unfortunately now I am stuck with a $100 credit store.

Poor Returns, No one in charge that could make a decision
Subject - ID3 Pans purchased at Robina Store.
Upon using the pans we have found that they do not heat sufficiently to cook the food, not a problem with my cooktop as it works with other pans
I decided to return the pans, as they were not fit for the purpose that we bought them for.
As the manager in store on phone, I had to wait for a call back, which did not occur.
I left the pans at the shop and now have to wait for a call back on Tuesday for the matter to be investigated further.
Whilst their customer service was ok, I am surpise...Read more
d to say the least, that in the managers absence, no one that is left running the shop has the abilitiy or decision making power to either refund or offer an alternative product, I actually felt sorry at how little they were able to do to assist! I was also informed by two of the shop assistnats that they use these pans at home and have no issues with them.1 comment

So dissatisfied-don't buy from House
I purchased a non stick wok and a cast iron frypan from House,The wok became rusty after first washing and drying. The cast iron pan, after frying a steak for the first time, a layer of coating totally came off and mixed with the steak so I had to throw the steak away. When I took both items to the shop at Broadway shopping centre, manager became very rude why I took those items back and yelled i will not sell any of my cookware to you. They sold poor cheap quality at expensive price and extremely rude. when I complained to their head office, n...Read more
