Great for babies.

published

I found the Hug a Bub great to use for babies. Really keeps baby close and fabric was soft. Easy to clean. Great instructions on how to use it. Takes some time to get the hang of putting it on but overall it doesn't take long to master. Would recommend.

Lifesaver

published

This was as essential to me as nappies for my colicky and super clingy baby. It held so firmly and neatly that I could even move furniture with him in it. Thank god I could pee in it because I hardly had it off! It was much more comfortable than the bjorn and way more secure than a peanut. My sanity would not have survived this child without my Hug-a-Bub.

Precious moments!

published

Both my babies enjoyed being snuggled close to me, even my summer baby. I couldn't imagine being able to do much without it, esp with a newborn and an active 16mth old and living on a farm. The only baby item I recommend to new mums when asked, I was sad when they out grew it!

Freedom!

Best thing I had for the first few months with my new baby. It was a hand-me-down from a friend and gave me independence to go out & get things done at home by carrying my baby safely and close to me. Very good for both of us! Even now he is 6 months old and I prefer to have him in a carrier so I know how he is doing. He is high up and can look around at everything I see too.

This was an essential part of raising 2 babies!

published

I used this for my first baby and loved it. It held her close and she slept light an angel in it. Then when I had my son I would put him in the hug-a-bub when ever we left the house (and even when I wanted to get things done around the house). He would be safe and cosy and I could focus on keeping my toddler out of trouble at the shops, parks, friends houses, etc! I recommend them to all my friends when they fall pregnant!!

Great with younger babies.

Natural cotton made it a great choice for hot weather. I could sweat in and not feel sticky. Easy to wash in washing machiene. Easy to carry in hand bag as it was light and compact. Pocket made it easy to store itself away. Great colours to choose from. Easy purchase online.

Love my Hug-a-Bub

published

Perfect for on the go, baby will sleep in it. This saved my sanity with a refluxy baby as it was the only place she would nap. I now use it for my 7 week old son. He will snuggle up and sleep in it which gets us through errands and grocery shopping.
Sling is comfortable and hard-wearing.

Perfect when looking after Bub and a toddler

published

Video tutorial took a few goes to learn how to tie it but once I figured it out, I lived in it all day. Perfect for being able to run after a toddler and know that baby was snug and safe and with me. Wish I got one with my first child. Super comfy and great close contact with baby.

Love it

Love it, this has been the best product for our little girl who was born with severe hip displasure. We used this from 2 weeks of age, she is now fourteen months and we still use it. i love the fact that I could always have her close and still get things done, it saved my sanity for the first 6 months as she would only sleep if being held is in her hug a bub

So comfortable!

published

I loved using this with my girl, and can't wait to use it again when number 2 joins us later this year! The most comfortable way to baby-wear! I have health problems which make me quite weak, and I can baby-wear for twice as long with my hug-a-bub than with any other carrier.

The best baby item ever

published

I bought this in 2003 and used it from my first to my fifth bubba. I love how the huga bub kept my babies cozy and close. I carried all babies from birth till 15 months (I had big babies). Honestly the best baby purchase I have ever made. ❤️

Struggled to put it on so never used it

published

I was so excited about getting this product and really wanted to use it. I lived i Hong Kong and it was perfect for getting around the city. But I could never put it on properly it was too complicated and I was always worried I hadn't put it on right and my baby would slip out so I never used it.

Loved it!

published

Once worked out the wrapping techniques it was easy to use and loved it. It was so comfortable and felt natural having bubs cuddled up close and comfy. We used it from new born and loved being able to give a bit of head support I didn't find in other carriers

Best carrier by far!

published

My third child had silent reflux and this was my saviour I could play with my other children, cook and clean which was impossible to achieve without him screaming beforehand. It also relieved his pain by being upright and allowing him to get some close contact sleep. I would highly recommend to friends and family and have also lent mine out for others to try.

I loved using it with my first born (4.5 years ago), especially when grocery shopping and during the attachment phase! I actually used it yesterday at the movies with my 7 week old and am wanting to use it all the time now. So easy, so comfy and great to have my arms free!

The best baby item I've bought

published

We bought a hug a bub with our second child and it was such a god send. Being able to be hands free to look after my toddler and still give my newborn the cuddles she needed was amazing. We used it again with our third child and now purchase them as baby gifts for many of our friends as they are just so easy to use and beautifully made!

I loved my Hug-a-Bub

published

I found the Hug-a-Bub invaluable when my son was a baby, up to about 2.5 years old. I loved having my hands free and the close snuggles with him. I had 2 and could rotate them for washing. I also had a Baby Bjorn, which was a little easier to put on but wasn't ideal as he grew bigger. I also had an Ergo Baby, which I preferred over the Baby Bjorn as it put less strain on my shoulders. But the Hug-a-Bub was more comfortable than either of them.

Is it worth me getting a hug bub even thou my baby is now 8kg? I previously had a carrier but it was soo uncomfortable, has anyone used the hug a bub with a bigger baby

It's really hard to say. I've got a big baby, and still use it every now and then. My guy weighs about 11.5kg now. I can't exactly remember but he was probably 6-8kg when I bought it. You could always Google or eBay a Moby Wrap and find a cheap one to see if you like it. I didn't realize a Moby Wrap is the same as (and a more generic name of) a hug a bub. And, as good as the hug a bub is, I would have tried to find something cheaper before committing had I known what they were called :).

Hi Julie, I'd get a woven. I had a hug-a-bub and was amazed at the difference in support. Hug-a-bubs and Mobys are invaluable for small ones, but as they get heavier, more support is warranted. Wovens can get expensive. I recommend starting out by going to a local baby-wearing group. They normally have libraries and you can try varying carriers there. Otherwise, there is the "BWBSS Aussie Babywearing Support" and the ladies in that group can help you out.
