Love my Hyundai!!
A bit heavy on fuel for the size of the car but only done 4000 KM. LOve all aspects of the Accent. Performance and driving is fantastic for such a reasonably cheap car. I have had no problems with it at present. It has plenty of power for me around town. Interior is as good as a car twice the price.

Perfect car under the budget of $17k
I bought this car in Aug 2016. Very economical and pleasant to drive. Plenty of legroom, massive boot and cant complaint about the multimedia. This car could have done better in sales compared to Corolla and Mazda 3, if Hyundai would have included standard feature like cruise control and rear view camera.

Great little car - haven't had any issues with the radio
Before owing an Accent, I had a Hyundai Getz (which had clocked up 165,000km and never missed a beat) and have gone from a petrol 1.6L motor to a diesel 1.6L. Obviously the petrol engine was zippier on take off, but the diesel engine is so much better on fuel and a tank will last me for about 700km.
Performance and handling are good and there is plenty of legroom for my 6ft 4in son if he comes in the car. The Accent's interior is nice and the seats are comfortable compared to the Getz, but I will never bag out my Getz too much, because tha...Read more
t car just never let me down and as a car dealer friend of a friend said "you just can't break those cars!". I haven't had any problems with my radio like other reviewers have had, which surprises me because we live semi-rural. I don't listen to AM stations, so that may cause an issue, but all the FM stations are picked up fine.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Hyundai Accent
Recently bought a Hyundai accent.
It is compact, powerful for its size and spacious.
Easy to handle.
It is a manual car and has 6 gears which honestly,I think 5 gears will do.
Do not know why have 6 gear.
maybe the manufacturer can explain.
Overall still as a nice car to drive.

Perfect, shame about the radio
Great car very impressed value for money no question about it, I traded my 2010 GETZ 5 speed manual which also had a 1.4 motor, and now buying a new Accent and having a 1.4 motor 6 speed manual gearbox I was a little concerned about the fact my Getz would comfortably drive around town in forth gear and the fifth gear was only required once I hit over 70 km, ........but they have worked the Accent's Engine and Gearbox over a little here which has created more torque in the lower gears and very efficeint in the higher range and will comfortably ...Read more
drive around town in fifth gear and then into sixth gear on around 70 Km and onwards which hums along at 100 km/hour and revving around 3000RPM, it is also built a little better inside and out compared to my GETZ. As other people have mentioned the radio is a little disappointing with regards to reception and is an issue, i have only had a slight reception problem on FM stations so far.....but AM may have bigger issue'sSimilar opinion? It is a nice little car, except for the radio
Performance is quite surprising for such a small engine, CVT is a little strange sounding but does well, tyre/road noise is just OK but you get what you pay for, interior is quite pleasant and good value, no problems with reliability and fuel usage is very close to the claimed 6L/100km average.
The only issue is my wife listens to AM radio and reception is poor at best, FM signal are much better but still not a great radio.

We are just as in love with this car as when we purchased it over a year ago
Performance is excellent, style cannot be matched, handles like a dream.
We feel there is plenty of room and the side mirrors keep such excellent vision.
Better than any car we have ever owned.
We love the little compartment above the front window that holds my husbands driving glasses.
The stereo sound is better in the car than in our home.

Cheap on fuel
Got it as it was the cheapest sedan in 2012. The 5 years warranty unlimited kms was a major attraction too. Clocking 5.6l/100kms as I do more than 100kms every day on a manual transmission. Only problem I had was the rattling sound coming from the sunvisor which I just got it replaced last service(renewal covered by warranty).

Brilliant
Bought a new Accent Sport model Auto. from Yarra Hyundai. A nice experience from first looking at cars to the hand over.
Great handling and power. We love it! Took it on a long drive past Daylesford with winding roads and it handled well. Compared well with the older BMW we traded. At under $20,000, a bargain!

Unbeatable Value for Money
Having realised that the secret to inexpensive motoring is purchasing a vehicle under $15,000 and turning it over, preferably within the warranty period, I purchased a 2015 plated Hyundai Accent hatch in January 2016. My previous vehicle was a 2009 Hyundai Getz SX, 1.6 litre and mated to a 5 speed manual box. Apart from a noisy water pump replaced under warranty at 45,000kms, the vehicle performed faultlessly. Purchased brand new for $14,000 in 2009 it was sold in January 2016 for $5,000 with 107,000kms on the odometer. That equates to $1,285 p...Read more
er year for depreciation; really inexpensive motoring. Having such a positive ownership experience with the Getz gave us the confidence to purchase another Hyundai. With the Getz no longer on the market the obvious replacement was the Accent, now with a 1.4 litre engine and 6 speed manual transmission. The only other vehicle considered was the recently released Kia Picanto, however this was available in 4 speed automatic only. A quick test drive of the Accent and the deal was done. A factory offer reduced the advertised price to $14,000 drive away, the same price as the Getz, some seven years previous. We fitted factory dash mat, head light protectors, interior mats and window tint adding another $1000 to the price, but further adding to the comfort and driving experience. We selected the sunflower colour as it did not attract any colour surcharge and is easily seen at any distance on the highway which is where this vehicle will spend most of its time. The Accent has now completed 8,200 kilometres and I would have to say I am very satisfied with the purchase. The vehicle is markedly more refined than the Getz, with the engine much quieter and not as coarse. I expect that is the progress made over 7 years. One of the biggest plusses is the amount of room inside the Accent when compared to the Getz. Legroom, both front and rear is noticeably increased with the boot able to consume much more luggage. The addition of two grandchildren and car seats confirmed this additional space. The car is very smooth around suburbia and it is only when driven on coarse highway bitumen does road noise intrude somewhat. Fuel economy has been surprising, averaging 4.7 litres per 100 per tank, according to the digital read out. This has to be corrected however, as the readout it a little optimistic and really should read approximately 5.0 litres per hundred. This is markedly better than the Getz however which would struggle to better 6.2 litres per hundred. Please note that these figures are attained by driving the vehicle with a high degree of mechanical sympathy. Delivering pizzas or parcels will not achieve these figures! The 6 speed manual is probably overkill as the final drive ratio is the same as the Getz at about 2,700 rpm at 100km/h. Hence there is no real advantage having the 6th gear, whilst one has to complete more gear changes moving up to top gear. I purchased the manual over the CVT automatic as I still enjoy changing gears and having $2,000 still in my pocket at the time of purchase. The current trend towards CVT automatics however will eventually make manual vehicles redundant as fuel economy between the two is now almost identical with the added advantage that an Accent with a CVT automatic will be doing less rpm at 100km/h than its manual cousin. Equipment levels for the $15,000 asking price are beyond belief. A five star safety rating ensures occupants an acceptable level of safety.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
What a great car
This car is excellent. It's really easy on fuel, feels really roomy inside and has been 100% reliable so far. Fixed servicing costs are a bonus. The only thing I miss is not having a thermometer in the dashboard, but that's probably my fault for choosing the lowest spec option :-)

Handy Car
I have the Hyundai accent 2014 model and never had a problem with it. Definitely a great car for p platers which is when i got mine, as its a really great small compact car and i find it really easy to park. I was hesitate to take it camping but surprisingly i had no complications and having back seats that can go down makes it a little bit more handy to lie stuff down. It definitely is a great value.

We are loving our car and are more than satisfied with its purchase
Great performance, low noise, great vision with side mirrors, comfort in seating great, legroom and interior room exceptional for a sedan. Reliability excellent running costs economical.
The dashboard lights and indicators are clear and at night I feel like I am piloting an aircraft. . After taking the Drive to survive course we are now more aware of how safe this car is and it has given us a feeling of safety and security in handling the vehicle better

brilliant drive
We recently took a rb3 accent 2016 model for a test drive, with the 6 speed cvt transmission, and loved it so much we have ordered 1, which will arrive tomorrow, we loved the feel on the road, felt like a larger car, seats were comfy, steering was precise, engine was very quiet, I like all the info that was displayed on the dash, like outside temps, and how eco we were doing, only downside it was a little loud on bad surfaces, don't know if it was down to tyres or not though, and the fcmc staff were fantastic

Best Value for Money
All I can say is that this is the best value for money car....!!! YES YES YES
If you are planning to buy car in next year, then look out for offers on this car sometime they have special like 0% interest or price reduced by $2000.....and that is the time I got mine.....I recently bought this car in Jan 2015 and it is going superb so far.............. !!! Toyota is good but they will rip you off with extra $8000 - $10,000 for the same quality that Hyundai gives you.........This is my second Hyundai before this I had Hyundai Lantra which I use...Read more
d for 7 year!! ...Thank you Hyundai for providing value for money car. The only negative things I can say that be-careful of dodge Sydney dealers...!!! few helpful tips if you are buying new car 1. Never take paint or fabric or body protection from dealers when you purchase your car..........those things are not required and if you want them then you can always get those after purchase............. 2. I didn't buy any extra mechanical or any other kind of warranty from dealers..........use your instinct if you are going to sell the car after 5 year then no point to get any extra warranty.......if you are using it more then trust me ....it is better to give money to mechanic at that time then to give it to car dealer who might not be in business by that time.........!! 3. Always visit 3 dealers and get the price and ask for best price before you leave show room.........!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Exceeded my expectations
I have recently bought one of the new 1.4L Active Hatch which comes with a CVT Auto transmission. This car has exceeded all my expectations in the early days of ownership. The engine may be small but max. torque is achieved at a relatively low (for non turbo petrol) at 3500 rpm. This teams up beautifully with the CVT Automatic. After driving this for an extended trip at 110km/h, the tacho was sitting on 2000rpm, and could not believe I contemplated a Yaris or Swift which were offering deals similar to Hyundai on 4 speed autos which would ha...Read more
ve been buzzing at 3300 rpm in the meantime. Anyhow, freeway driving will not be this car's main role, as it was intended to be an urban species with runabout duties. No complaints there either with light steering, small turning circle and supple ride over suburban potholes. The Accent just feels like a different category of car than its competitors with a lovely mature interior. The internal materials quality is also very good and well screwed together, so no issues there. I really can't think of anything more I would need in a basic car. It has excellent rear seat space and spacious boot with a full size spare. How compelling is it when you have 5 yr warranty and 10 yr roadside assist? There's a couple of VERY minor things worth commenting on such as Bluetooth audio streaming does not show song title/artist etc on the screen, but if you connect your music via USB, you get it all including album artwork. I find road noise can be an issue on coarse chip road surfaces found on older highways, but on normal roads, not an issue and I'm sure that would be the case for the other light cars on the market (possibly except for VW Polo). Cruise control would have been nice, but not an issue for me as it's a suburban runabout for 99% of the time. Steering can also feel a little vague on the straight ahead on centre position at highway speeds and there is no warning sound if you leave your headlights on and remove keys from the ignition. Do I care about all this stuff? No. For the price of the car and the quality of the build and drivetrain, I am wrapped. You can just feel that this car will last the distance.Similar opinion? Great, reliable run-about
We've owned the Accent RB Diesel Active, one of the last of it's kind since early 2013 (it was a late 2012 model), automatic transmission. The power in the diesel engine was very impressive and comparable to a 2.0L car. It's a sedan, so boot space is generous. We have to say that seating leg and headroom is quite generous for this size car.
The economy is awesome, achieves about 4.9l/100 on mix suburban/highway driving and there's very little turbo lag. We've driven the petrol also, the engine seems to have ample power and decent fuel econom...Read more
y from when we had one as a loan car. We've been so impressed with how well it's done that rather than trade it in for another Accent as they've stopped selling the Diesel model here, we've upgraded things ourselves on it like a 7" inch stereo with reverse camera, reverse sensors, alloy wheels, fog lights, etc to make it that little bit more premium. The negatives aren't so many - the steering column tilts only, so it can be challenging to find a comfortable position if you're a bit taller. The windows tend to get some sort of fog from the fumes on the plastic and this tends to be common with the Hyundai's, even with the windows tinted and dash mat, etc. We've got Hondas and Holdens that are parked in the same conditions and don't get this problem.Similar opinion? Not Sure if Any1 else has encountered this issue. I bought a brand new Hyundai Accent Sport 2017 last year. Since day-1, i can feel the accelerator is too sensitive (comparing to my old Holden)... Whenever i try to level to a particular speed, the car jerks up & down (though the jerk is not much noticeable by other passengers in car but the driver can feel it's not smooth).
I got this checked by Hyundai technicians and they responded with a comment "this is what it is. the sensors may be too sensitive but we cannot change it as the software comes via the company".
I just want to check if sm1 else has also observed this?

Yes, I have found the same thing on my 2017 Accent Sport manual. When cruising at 60 Kph in 4th gear on light throttle, the engine falters and bucks slightly ( only the driver notices it and it would be very difficult to demonstrate it to a mechanic). Much more noticeable with the aircon on as it cycles on and off. I figure that it is the second cheapest new car to put on the road (after the Mirage) so you cannot expect perfection in all areas, but it does detract from driving pleasure in an otherwise great little car.
Yes, so glad someone else is experiencing the same thing. I have a Sport auto and its hard to drive smoothly. It almost feels like the car has regenerative braking when you lift of the accelerator. At about 50 kph, it will also drop down a gear when you lift off the pedal. Passengers have started to notice it too, commenting that it feels like the car is surging. It's a shame as everything else about the car is great. I'm going to ask the service people if they can do something to the electronic settings in the transmission when it next gets serviced.
I’ve got the same thing with my 2018 model guys. It doesn’t like to sit on 50kph at all. It’s either under or over.

Hi Everyone,
I ma gone through a lot of above mentioned reviews and are definitely useful. I have another query if any can answer that please.
I live near brisbane cbd and pretty in a hilly area. I just wanted your reviews on how is the car (accent) on hills. Does it struggle or rattles while climbing on a hill?
Thank you

Mine is an automatic and don't have any problems going uphill. Mine is new so I don't know how older cars perform
Thank you for your reply..
I have a an auto mid-2017 model and it handles hills well given its small engine. You won't win a race with a prado, but I'm guessing you won't expect to!
