Appalling service
Appalling service, car in for damage nearly two months and still there, no fault of ours and
must pay excess . No coordination of car when fixing, they don't keep you in the loop so disappointing and 14 day car hire a waste of time . No ownership by company. Very difficult when you are trying to do a full time job and dealing with such dreadful service.
Absolute Rubbish, Useless!
Had an accident, I had comprehensive insurance, my car was written off, eventually, with the fourth smash repairer, as none wanted to deal with ING. A year later I am being sued and asked for compensation as ING hasn't paid the other person, even though they have told me they have, numerous times.

Worst car insurance company. Unhelpful, no one knows what the hell is going on. Each time you call you get told a different thing. Just money sucking insurance as usual. They have written policies that state one thing but when you speak to them they tell you something else and just repeat themselves over and over and over without even the slightest bit of help to resolve it.
Avoid going through this company at all costs. It’s a waste of money and your time.

Absolute disaster of an insurance sector.
Evidently, insurance is not their strong suite. I was involved in a car accident in February, paid my $900 excess within 24 hours and my car is still in repairs 3 months later, now approaching 4 months. I find it curious they thought it was in the best interest of the customer to order over 15 parts from around the world as opposed to offering a cash settlement, as quoted by their allocated repairer. I have spent over $1500 on a car hire, as the repair stage is taking a ridiculous amount of time, and continue to do so. Moreover, their lack of communication is appalling. You chase up for updates yourself. You request call backs yourself. You call the repairer yourself.

NO GOOD - No Fault Insurance Claim
Avoid this insurance like a plaque. I am involved in a no fault incident claim on my tesla through ING or auto and general. Firstly, my car has to go to Wollongong to be repaired from Sydney. Why? I was told that is the authorized repairer that auto and general approves for tesla but there are many Tesla authorized repairers in Sydney metro area. In fact, there is one only 4km away from my home. Secondly, the car is totally drivable but instead gave me a petrol rental car. I wanted to be able to drive the car while waiting for it to be assessed

Additionally, every process takes long to complete. 3 weeks in and still waiting for the approval of the estimates. Just not good enough. Still feel discontent about having to take the car to Wollongong for repair. Should have approved the one that is only 4km away from me and the insurance can save on the car rental fees, two tolls to Wollongong back and forth, return uber fares to pick up/drop off the rental car, etc.Scammers
When I called up it sounded like they have outsourced their call center to India the guy tried to increase my policy from $1024 to $1900 even though none of my circumstances had changed and I just wanted to update my address that's a huge jump just to update an address. Anyway they lost a customer I changed to AAMI after one year of being with them. AAMI gave me a better deal at $1040 which the updated address and even a excess that was a lot lower than ing. When i called up to cancel they don't even try and retain business or bother trying to convince you to stay. Basically this company doesn't value their customers or care about loosing business. Would avoid at all costs.

I called ING (Auto & General) to enquire about my excess, I advised them that i had scratched my car. 10 days later they canceled my insurance. Typically when you apply for insurance, one of the most important questions they ask is "have you ever had your an insurance policy voided or cancelled?" That question makes every insurance provider want to steer clear of me. I wish I paid more and used anyone but ING (Auto & General) as they have F*&$%d my chances of getting insurance in the future.

Nightmare - Six Month and Still Do Not Have My Vehicle
My car has now been sitting in a garage for 6 months not being driven which is causing damage to my vehicle. his is causing permanent damage to my vehicle and my vehicle is worth over $20,000. They can't get the parts so they leave customers in hardship. They basically offered to waive my excess.
I have had no car for 6 months. It is stated that if the vehicle is irreparable then it is a write off. In my case, my car is not repairable, but they refuse to pay me out. This has caused me so much hardship financially and mentally. I have paid re

Called up to make a claim as my car was hit, driver refused to give details so advised them I was making a police report and not proceeding with anything until police have an outcome as they were trying to make me book my car in and for me to pay the excess. Dysfunctional Claims Team
ING Car Insurance appears to be good value - however, I have recently had to log a claim due to car theft.
They initially indicated a 2-week period that the claim would be reviewed and they would reach out for an update. I did not hear back from them - and after spending 90 minutes on hold they told me that my claim had been put on hold (for what turned out to be an error in their system).
They advised a Leader would review my claim and get back to me within 2-3 days. Upon not receiving any notification - I reached out again to be told tha

Car damaged while parked.
Lodged claim. $800 excess up front even though I gave details about the party that damaged it.
Car repair was incredibly average. I could have done a better job myself.
Hard to navigate the website to find a phone number, rude call centre staff that had no idea about the claims process. Long waiting and navigating times.
Have called and emailed multiple times about getting my excess back, no reply. When I called the last time, I had to again give all the details of the party that had damaged my car.
I would give this zero stars if possible
My car was stolen on the 15th of April and was found a few days later. I still am without a car and have raised multiple complaints with no resolution. I have to keep calling back again and again which I do not have time for with no additional help. Your policy only covers 2 weeks for car hire however how is it my fault that you have taken so long to give my car back? I have been told by multiple assessors that there is nothing wrong with my car yet it has taken nearly 3 months to even order replacement keys even though I notifed them that both keys were stolen back on the 15th of April.
