Nearly a week still waiting for money to clear
I directly transferred money to my ING direct account on Thursday it is now Wednesday and I still can’t see the money in the account. Called ING direct and complained still didn’t fix the problem. Will be cancelling my accounts with ING direct as soon as I can transfer my money back into my other account. Very disappointed

Worst customer service experience ever.
I've had an account with them for 2 or 3 years but I've never been able to do anything other than transfer money into it. I wanted to take my money out because it's a useless account but I don't have a client number. All the info on the site is useless because I don't have a card or any statements from them and when I called it said there was a retrieval tool that doesn't exist. When I tried again it said there was a link on the login page but there isn't. awful, will never use again, stole my money.

I dont know what all the hype is about.
Ive been with them only a month so haven't really had any fees. Communication is pretty poor, i find it odd that ING is an online bank only but you cant actually chat with them online like you can with other major banks. If you have any questions you have to call or email them like its the 90's still. They use Osko to transfer money but Osko doesn't allow multiple transactions one after the other so if you have bills you cant do them all at once. And if you accidentally do then you have to wait a full business for your money to transfer and co...Read more
uld end up with late fees. I do like that you dont have to log in to see your bank balance but that's pretty much it. Their app is very limited, their website is confusing but they do promise low fees which is good.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

A responsive bank
A great bank! They even implemented a suggested improvement I made to them with regards to their phone app. I have been with ING bank for a few years now and have found them quite helpful, this is the icing on the cake!

Totally lack of communication
I tried to set up a Link Account with my other bank by emailing a required form but I did not realize they need a statement to proof my other bank account (that never happened to me before on any banks). But they did not inform me so I wasted almost 2 weeks when the account never set up. I sent them a screenshot of a statement and have to call again after a week to find out it has to be a complete page of my statement (Not sure why because all the vital information were in the screenshot). I subsequently send them a full statement in Dec 3. I...Read more
have been calling them daily only spoke to their 'call center' that only take INbound calls. Every time I call they have no records of the previous calls. Every time they would say they send email to the 'OTHER' department to find out and let me know but they never call back. They don't let me speak to their 'OTHER' department because they do not taking inbound calls so I can only speak to the so call 'call center' that only take inbound calls but not allowed to call out to customers. How stupid is that ?? As of now I am still waiting for the outcome when she told me she will escalate the matter to the 'Management' which I was told the same yesterday morning but she could not even see any record of that call leave alone the 'escalation'.Similar opinion? Was great until I had an issue
Ive been with ING for years never have I called them. I accidentally transferred funds to a closed acct. The other bank stated it should have bounced back however it never did! I called ING the moment it happened then again at night only to be told they just sent an email to the other bank. They told me they cant help! And I probably wont get the funds back. The moment I mentioned I have worked for a bank in head office and know the ins and outs, and told them I contacted the other bank, they then decided to transfer my money back, had me on ho...Read more

They are fine if you don't need to interact with any of their staff.
Every interaction I have with ING results in dissatisfaction. They are fine if you don't need to interact with any of their staff. Staff talk over the top of you and couldn't care less about assisting you. You would typically need to contact multiple times to have a matter resolved. Today the representative just kept saying is there anything else I can help you with, before Id finished speaking and he hadnt even helped with my initial issue! Ill be going elsewhere after my interaction today

Would 100% recommend to anyone interested
Discovered ING myself and from others. Searched ING's competitive rates.
ING Savings Maximiser is a definite 100% backup from Primary Savings Account.
Would and could 100% recommend ING to anyone If preferred to.

Great online bank and very competitive products
I've been with ING for many years and love this bank. They have one of the best banking apps in my opinion, very easy to use and great layout. Last year I did a trip to Italy and also took advantage of their 0% overseas fees and zero atm fees on the account. That helped save a lot in overseas fees and was a great feature they offer.
My past experience with their telephone customer service has been good and matters resolved quickly when requested. I would recommend this bank.

Absolutely shocked how bad their service was.
Been with Ing for many years have found them excellent until now.
We have 5 family members at our address that have Ing everyday accounts. I have encouraged them to join after I did years ago. Today I tried to open a youth account for my 16 year old who is going away with school and wanted him to have his own card.
They advertise how it is made especially for youths of his age to open an account. Its an online account obviously, I go through all the steps including giving his licence number, Medicare etc and then they set up account number...Read more
s and messaged his phone and then up pops a screen that now asked for forms with his address to confirm his address on his licence. It then asks for a savings account statement or tax assessment notice of which he doesnt have either. Thats why I am setting up a savings account. He doesnt have a tax assessment notice because he hasnt paid tax yet. You then get stuck at this point because you cant ask for help or do anything . It just lets you save or cancel, you cant get any help. I then rang them because I have their details on my card and after a very very long wait on the line I get told by (E -y ) that's just the way it is, I need a savings account or tax notice in his name for my son to get a savings account. I explained that we have 5 members of our family at the same address all with ing accounts there must be another way we can prove his address. She didnt offer any assistance just said no thats all there was. I said it was ridiculous and there must be something we can do and she just hung up on me. Cant believe it . No point asking for me to review service at the end of the call because they hang up on you before you can.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Disrespected my marriage
Great experience with ING until I accidentally locked myself out of my account. The operator decided to provide me with financial advice based on 'you and your wife could split up' rather than respecting our marriage, telling us what banking secrets we should be keeping from each other (we have a joint account) all because I needed to change my access code. If you want to save money, join ING. If you want to feel respected as a human being, go anywhere else.

This bank rips of their customers by secretly charge late payment fee without notifying the customers
This bank rips of their customers by secretly charge late payment fee of $20 every week without notifying the customers in an effective way.
I contacted the customer service and she kept saying it's my own fault, they have nothing to do with this.
They want want to find a solution with you, all they do is pushing the fault to you.

Woeful
Unable to access my funds as a linked account to external bank account is closed and ING still think its open my funds are in one ING account that cannot be transferred to another account making it impossible to access any money if you cant even do an internal transfer between your own accounts

Frauds
Never go with them. They are frauds; their accounting is fraudulent. Preapproval and rates mean nothing because they pretend one thing and at the end of the day they will rob job, literally (not just they have huge rates).

Everchanging Savings Maximiser Rates
Fact: ING savings maximiser rates have been reduced 4 times in 5 months in 2022.
From 17 June: 2.8% to 2.55%
From 9 July: 2.55% to 2.3%
From 18 September: 2.3% to 2.2%
From 9 October: 2.2% to 1.95%
I remember signing up with ING when the rate was just over 3% and overlooked the drop to 2.8% less than a month after sign up.
But I will not overlook this abhorrent disdain for customers in 2022. Let this review serve as a warning to any new customers who consider ING should the alluring rates ever return....Read more

Worst customer service ever, poor operations, tricky terms
I’m a long term customer and used to enjoy the service ING provides. However, the quality had lately been on decline. The terms of savings rates are tricky making sure you won’t receive the premium savings rate. Customer service is poor and provides little to no support. Decided to leave ING after this experience too.

Went from the best bank to bottom of the barrell.
Expensive home loan rates for long term customers. Don't pass on cuts as often as they should. Their processing times are getting longer, customer service is lacking. I've had a mortgage with them for 10 years it's time to refinance.

Home loan service is a joke
Took them over 2 months to decline our home loan without giving us a reason. We had to extend our already long settlement date for the house due to them messing around so much and asking for documents 2 days before the original settlement when they knew that date was so close. Also never heard from them about the progress of the application they only contacted when they wanted more documents. Worst I’ve ever dealt with went to another bank and got approved within 2 days

I have tried to contact ING on the secure message option for 3 days now. One message / day with no responses. Customer service is obviously not the priority of this bank.
