Was a great helper - it worked daily for us to kick dust out and place was clean.
Had to exercise neat floor (no socks, cables nor loose objects in Roomba's sight) but hey it made place looking even better.
The only problem was that few times we had to return it for servicing under manufacturer's warranty.
Was not too happy with warranty service support.
Now, after almost 2 years, battery seems to need replacing, which is a bit of concern, but hope it would stop there.
If you expect your roomba to work daily, prepare yourself for regular c...
Have had the roomba 577 for 2 years now, it's working very well although i did buy a replacement battery when it used to not find back to the dock anymore. I keep the brushes clean and it does a sterling job, picking up a large amount of dust, dirt and especially fine dust. I use the schedule to have it clean automatically every week day at 10am and it's amazing how much it picks up. The carpet has been kept very clean. I've used it on the outside balcony too and it picks up a lot of dirt.
Quiet for a vacuum cleaner, doesn't get tangled in cables, sensible sound notifications, came with replacement brushes (that i haven't used yet),easy to use, well worth the money
battery had to be replaced ($50 bucks isn't much tho)

Ever since i first heard of these vacuum robots i longed to buy one. They seemed like a perfect solution to manual vaccuuming. I was never really concerned that they were just a "gimmick" as all the reviews i read spoke for themselves.
My Husband has a disability and i am still recovering from a bad ankle break and vacumming has become a very difficult task for both of us. We constantly struggled with manual vacumming and needed something that would make life easier.
After our regular vaccuum cleaner died, my parents offered to buy us a n...
Read moreew one, and i immediately jumped at the chance to get a roomba. Hubby was unsure whether it would work effectively but i was convinced it was the answer to our housecleaning prayers. From the first use, Roomba has been worth it's weight in gold. It cleans effectively and efficiently, gets all the dirt from against the skirting boards and doesn't stop until your floor is very clean. Our floors have never looked this clean before. Roomba is so easy to use that we use it twice daily, especially after a meal as our kids seem to like making a mess. (Just make sure you pick up any wet foods first as Roomba doesn't like them)- 3 reviews

I am totally in love...its 4 mths now and still in love with my Roomba. My grand daughter loves it and my husband loves it. Does that make it part of the family?
I have hard floors, a couple of rugs and pets. Sand comes in the house always, and sweeping or vacuuming never seemed to get it as well as my little chap. I walk barefoot now, cos no sand. It thinks its because he gets to places you just dont always get to.
Cant help but think those little wheels n stuff could be made a little less awkward to clean. Christmas ribbons n hair get caught in the wheels, tighten and can be fiddly to clean out.

Not happy with the service I got regards this product returned it to the store where I bought it and was told that it has to be returned to the manufactures for repair. When you pay close on $700.00 for a product and have to return it after 10 weeks it is just not on. I do feel that the store should have replaced the product.
Good Product when working
Bad warranty service
Stores are not responsible for the product after a about a month. if they were to replace it, chances are roomba wouldn't accept the product back, and the store would be stuck with a faulty vac.
And the retailer has the right to get an opinion from the manufacturer as the store is not a technician & is not able to tell if it's a fault or operator error, which is fair enough

I recently purchased the irobot roomba thinking it will be handy to do a light clean. Well I use it everyday and the amount of dust and fluff it is collecting amazes me. It really does clean, I will still need my standard vacuum for the tight corners and ceiling spiders though. If you have a large home and you're not home during the day I think it would be worth buying the next model up with the timer and two lighthouses with it as the 530 cruises to wherever it can back and forth between rooms and I feel to get one room clean at a time is bet...
Read moreter so I block mine into one room at a time. Overall I am over the moon with the roomba as the vacuuming gets done while I do other jobs, it saves me time and my carpets and floor look cleaner all the time now. One of my friends with a toddler has recently purchased one and she also loves hers, she is finding it very handy when he brings in a tonka truck from the sandpit spilling sand onto the floor using the 'spot' clean to clean up. Everything!! time saver, good cleaner.i have had to replace, thankfully under warranty, the brush head unit. The motor has burnt out twice. Works very well. Takes one hour to clean while I am at work. Great coming home to a clean house. I have wooden floors with mats, no problem for the roomba to clean these.
Reliable, cleans perfectly, not at all expensive when compared to dyson or other name brands.
A bit noisy, but runs when I'm not home, so doesn't matter.

I think this machine is fantastic. I bought the one with the extras but so far have not set up the towers. I just close the doors to each room. I thought I would use it for light cleaning when at work but find that it does such a great job I mostly use this instead of my vacuum cleaner. I still use the vacuum cleaner to do a big clean but this irobot can get me by for a couple of weeks. I can not believe the dirt it picks up. I get so many other things done whilst it is cleaning.
Easy to clean and does a great job
Bit noisy

I thought it was about time to update my review as I have had my Roomba for approx 1.7 yrs. It still continues to perform and has been relatively hassle free.
Please note that the unit does require some regular maintenance. I have taken it apart and cleaned all the fluff and dust around the internal components (it is amazing how much fluff collects inside the unit).
The brushes and filter require regular maintenance. All of this is very easy to do as long as you have a small paint brush and a Phillips head screw driver.

This machine is great. I love it so much, I have even named it Scooby). I just turn it off and let it go and do its thing. The virtual wall also works well if I want to have it concentrate on one room at a time as well. I only seem to need to use it once a week and my floors are still so clean.
It does have a problem with getting stuck under my couch or bed at times and it likes to move around my cords if they aren't moved out of the way but once you rectify that, I have had no problems.
It cleans my floor for me
Gets stuck under furniture at times
I bought my iRobot Roomba after reading the reviews on here but I was still a little skeptical. It is fantastic! It does everything it says it does and it is easy to clean. I was worried that it would not cope with my long thick hair that seems to always be on our floor (I really ought to be bald) but it is soooooo easy to take apart and clean the roller and the brushes. It even comes with this interesting circle comb that runs down the roller brush to remove hair and fluff.
My house is lovely and clean and it even motivates me to do the ot...
Read moreher jobs while it does the floor. It is easy to think only lazy people need this product but I certainly don't sit down while he does all the work. He just gives me the time to do all of the other jobs as I work 3 days a week and have a toddler. I keep telling people about my new love, my iRobot Roomba! It cleans well, it is easy to use and clean. No cons so far, I didn't even think it was too expensive at $449 from Harvey Norman and even if it only lasts a year I will go and buy a new one!- 9 reviews

I have now been using my Roomba for three years without any problems. It sits under a lamp table charging all the time and is brought out almost daily. Nobody can ever complain about having cleaner floors without having to do the work involved. I liked it so much that my two sisters, my aunt and a best friend have all bought them too!!! I then moved and have now convinced two more friends to purchase a Roomba too - and they too are very happy.
easy to use, saves your back from bending down vacuuming, much cleaner house without the work
I happily spend about 4mins cleaning Roomba after each use (so he's ready for next time)

Originally thought these items were a "gimmick". Glad to be proven wrong. Love my i-robot and my new always clean floors. Have already had 2 people visit and go out straight away and get one!
Does exactly what it says - cleans floors effortlessly. Love the spot function for under dining table.

I have to say this is the best purchase i have made in a long time. With working, caring for my husband who is fighting cancer and 2 school age kids roomba has been a god send. With my husband you cannot vacuum while he is around (airborne particles) but needing to keep a sterile environment i cannot tell you how much this has helped my life. I will no longer live without one, highly recommended to anyone who prefers almost anything more than vacuuming, i have cleans floors daily and sometimes i use it twice a day, my daughter even uses it to clean her cubby house floor
Reliable and very thorough
You need to keep brushes clean

I can see every home in future having one of these devices. I was very skeptical about it's suction power where I've found it does a better job than I do when i try to vacuum. It goes from one room to another cleaning the whole flour (and areas I can't get 2) where it can detect dirt and anything that needs to be clean. I also found it be more quiet than a normal vacuum cleaner. This product is great!, I just set the time of the day when i'm at work and it returns to the base at the end to charge. It normally cleans for about 30-45 mins I have found!
Does the best job cleaning my house, no need to hire a maid :)
Very rarely gets stuck but you would move this objects out of the way 2 if u were vacuuming by hand!

I bought this expecting some issues as we live in a relatively small unit with lots of furniture, a complex layout and a mix of surfaces (tiles, carpets, floating timber and tasseled rugs). I'm delighted to say I was wrong the 530 cleans brilliantly across all surfaces and overall I would say does a better job than I can with a Dyson due to it's ability to get under furniture and beds etc.
Performance, design
You need to spend a few minutes cleaning the unit after use

My wife and I both work long hours and the kids, well, vacuuming is not their strong pint.
It is relatively quick, very intelligent, gets into all the nooks and crannies, and has not failed to return to base as yet.
Cat's just love it as well - although tey don't touch it, I am sure they play tag and hide and seek with it......
We researched forever! This is cheap and efficient. We bought it at Cosco in Canberra (ACT, Australia) for $369 - Money extremely well spent
The stupid thing des not empty itself - Oh WEll!
My husband says Noooo! But i think with inside pets and messy kids this is gold lol. Please change my husbands mind sis.

This is a sensational invesntion and will revolutionise the way people clean their houses. My wife wants to modify the house so the Roomba has its own place to sleep. I was truely sceptical about whether it would actually work but am so impressed I went and bought the mopping one two.
This is sensational. I have a large tiled house and I no longer need to vacuum it. Gone from vacuuming twice a week to once a month and house stays much cleaner thanks to robot. Very thorough, more so that me according to my wife!
I tend to be so amazed by it I stand around watching it.
I have a large house and two shedding dogs, Roomba (now named Wally) does a brilliant job of keeping all the big rooms clean, including the tiled areas. I vacumned before using it and was amazed at how much it picked up. Initially I had to constantly clean brushes, but after a few days, its settles down and does its job. Is now a new member of the family! No more pulling out the vacumn cleaner and back breaking work, I sit with my coffee and watch it go! I'm also getting invited to have coffee with neighbours and bring Wally with me! Reco...

I've had my Roomba for nearly a week now and it is fantastic at cleaning the carpet and tile floors. The only problem is I keep losing it. Twice last night I went looking for it but didn't know which room it would be in. The Roomba leaves its dock in the loungeroom, cleans that room, cleans the family room, kitchen, hallway and ends up in one of the bedrooms. Both times it had turned off because it couldn't move (once when a shoe fell and blocked its way and once when it lodged itself under a bed). Why did I wait so long to get one???
I have a large house and also a dog and two cats that continually shed hair. This is brilliant at picking up the hair. No fluff in the corners anymore.
Bit noisy.

I bought the roomba 560 online is Australia after having purchased a cheaper brand (which didnt perform) and luckily I got a refund... The roomba does a great job, it is amazing how much dust it actually pick up
(that you dont see on your floor). I mainly use the unit on my tiled floor. It works good on carpets, but I would have to clean it even more often as the catcher gets full of dirt, quite amazing actually. I like it in my kitchen / family room area because that is the hub of the house, with kids eating and birds dropping lots of dirt e...
We have quite a large house which is home to two ragdoll cats who like to spread their fur around (driving me nuts!!). I turn Roomba on as I leave the house for work and I return to a clean house. Roomba does a pretty good job on carpets so I only run a normal vac over them once a fortnight or so.
Because our floor areas are so large, I've found Roomba does a better job if I split the house in two using my virtual wall which ensures Roomba has plenty of time and charge to do each area throughly.
Ours had a bit of a spazz a while bac...
Read morek and we contacted the service department and they were wonderful. We sent Roomba back to them, at their cost, and they replaced it, no questions asked. I am absolutely in love with Roomba, can't live without it and I don't know why I didn't get one earlier! It has saved so many arguements in our house especially now as I'm 8 months pregant. I am now allowed to buy Roomba's friend, Scooba. Woohoo!! I am extremely podantic (borderline OCD some might say) about cleanliness of my house and I was extremely suprised at how well Roomba cleans. Its super easy to use, easy to clean and it copes with a daily, large workload no worries at all. The after sales service is fantastic, possibly the best I've ever come across for an eletronic product. This robot is a pure gem letting me spend my free time doing what I want to do. You do need to make sure you clean it out thoroughly as simple hair/fur build up can cause it to have a hissy fit and start making knocking noises or worse still, stop working. Roomba is a little noisey, but no louder than a normal vac. You also need to make sure you don't have bar stools etc up against walls/benches or Roomba can get stuck.- 3 reviews
Harden up Roomba.
Plenty smart enough - but NOT HARD ENOUGH.....
My girlfriend has long strong dark hair and she sheds like a sheep dog - it gets wrapped around the brushes and the drive systems of every conceivable external moving part..... i spend more time cleaning the little wimpy robot as I would if I just spent the money on a good tough vacuum and did it the old fashioned way.
Adolescent technology - so close to being awesome and five stars.
It's cool
It's on "American Dad"
It's a cleaver robot - never hurts itself or anything in the room.

Spends more time broken down than in use. Feel like I have wasted my money. Great idea but doesnt deliver. Was great when we just had tiles but when we moved to a carpeted unit its performance is poor.
Great idea!
Noisy, gets lost and doesnt makes its way back to base. Battery died and it was over $150 to replace.

I absolutely love this and it has stopped so many arguments in our house. My husband was sceptical at first but is very impressed now. Since we've had this (7 months) we haven't had to get the Dyson out once ! We have cats and they make a mess with their cat litter, we just set the Roomba to work and the floor is spotless. Having to clean the brushes every day is a small price to pay
Cleans dog and cat hair better than the Dyson, doesn't get stuck and the max effort I do is turn it on !
It doesn't find its way back to base and can, sometimes, take a while to find !
