So disappointed

published

Have owned a brand new swift touring for 12 months..the quality of the build was shocking we have had so many things just fall apart/off and integeral parts like bed slides and seats just fail. Screws snapping, canvas wearing at corners, table not fitted correctly. All good and well to have them covered by warranty but when you are out travelling u cant get them sorted..wont buy a jayco product again

PDA have been really good. However, after having the van for many weeks and re-sealing some joints, it is still leaking. It goes back to them next month. It is currently under a tarp.

Hot Water System

published

Really disappointed we have brought a new optimum motorhome last month .
the problem is with the instant hot water system (Suburban Storage hot Water Heater) it takes nearly 15 litres of water before it is hot.

Plumbing problems on 19ft Starcraft

published

20 months old an still cant get plumbing problem fixed. When I connect hose to mains water it dribbles out of the taps, no problems using tank water with pump.. Been into 2 different Jayco service centres and still not working. Now leaking water underneath, steadily when water heater is on. Hoses keep coming loose.
Would never recommend Jayco, Would never buy one again.
My previous van ( not Jayco) was excellent, never any problems.

Poor quality

Poor workmanship in my motorhome. Electric bed issues and repairs often, its only one year old! The Renault however is brilliant. Whilst majority of service staff in Newcastle go out of their way to assist in repairing issues one aggressive service staff member had me to tears. I have basically been told to find somewhere else to get services completed. Not a good experience Jayco!

Jayco Front Wheel Alignment

published

We bought a used Jayco Mercedes Conquest with 20,000 km on it. Found out the wheel alignment was still at factory settings when the Cab chassis was built in Germany. Neither Jayco nor dealer bothered to do a proper alignment after the motor home was built. The left front tyre was riding on less than 1/3 of the tread. Very unsafe and causes excess tyre wear. Camber bolts had to be fitted to get proper alignment (went to Goodyear as best price). When purchasing any new motorhome make sure as part of the deal that they align the wheels.

Jayco does not accept responsibility and says it should be covered by Mercedes Warranty which of course has nothing to do with warranty as Jayco added the motorhome unit to the cab chassis.
