So disappointed
Have owned a brand new swift touring for 12 months..the quality of the build was shocking we have had so many things just fall apart/off and integeral parts like bed slides and seats just fail. Screws snapping, canvas wearing at corners, table not fitted correctly. All good and well to have them covered by warranty but when you are out travelling u cant get them sorted..wont buy a jayco product again

Been nothing but trouble
VIN 6AM000000K1X70526
Bought this new in November 2022. There were some minor adjustments to be made at the first service to cupboards and drawers, and one of the marker lights was full of water and not working. When we got it home, I got the ladder out and inspected the roof. The stick-on solar panel was burnt out and not operating. Caravanland said that they would replace it at the first service, which they did.
In June 2020 we took the van to Shark Bay where it rained and caused water to run along the bathroom floor and alongside the bed.

Cause, element shorted, replaced at Caravanland. November 2020, Caravanland booked out so it's 12 month service was done at PDA Caravan Repairs. They found that the old stick-on solar panel had burnt holes in the roof of the caravan that Caravanland had not repaired when they replaced the solar panel. They replaced the section of the roof that had the holes in it.

PDA have been really good. However, after having the van for many weeks and re-sealing some joints, it is still leaking. It goes back to them next month. It is currently under a tarp.
Hot Water System
Really disappointed we have brought a new optimum motorhome last month .
the problem is with the instant hot water system (Suburban Storage hot Water Heater) it takes nearly 15 litres of water before it is hot.

Jayco Journey 16ft
I just bought a new 2018 Journey Outback single axle . Was going great until I took it on a gravel road. Most of drawer fixings have pulled off and an overhead cupboard has nearly fallen off. It was only then that I noticed how inferior the cabinet work was. The most dissapointing thing was the dust entry into all the cupboards.Which ruined our trip.
I have just done a 200km round trip to get the work done under warranty and they just slapped a bit of silicone around and put a couple of bigger screws in. Hence I dont have much faith the dust ...

Plumbing problems on 19ft Starcraft
20 months old an still cant get plumbing problem fixed. When I connect hose to mains water it dribbles out of the taps, no problems using tank water with pump.. Been into 2 different Jayco service centres and still not working. Now leaking water underneath, steadily when water heater is on. Hoses keep coming loose.
Would never recommend Jayco, Would never buy one again.
My previous van ( not Jayco) was excellent, never any problems.

Not totally happy
We haven't even been off road and as soon as we drive on normal roads the draws pop out so we have to tie them down everytime we take off they (jayco) have used the tiniest screws its really pathetic especially with the price you pay for there vans very poor quality
Poor quality
Poor workmanship in my motorhome. Electric bed issues and repairs often, its only one year old! The Renault however is brilliant. Whilst majority of service staff in Newcastle go out of their way to assist in repairing issues one aggressive service staff member had me to tears. I have basically been told to find somewhere else to get services completed. Not a good experience Jayco!
Follow up phone call from the manager who also was very aggressive and would not let me get a word in. I did not expect 'free' service to install a part but that was his assumption and he has told me ...

No wonder 5 people I have spoken to have either sold their Jayco, go miles out of their way to get service elsewhere or are nervous taking their van to this site. Jayco Front Wheel Alignment
We bought a used Jayco Mercedes Conquest with 20,000 km on it. Found out the wheel alignment was still at factory settings when the Cab chassis was built in Germany. Neither Jayco nor dealer bothered to do a proper alignment after the motor home was built. The left front tyre was riding on less than 1/3 of the tread. Very unsafe and causes excess tyre wear. Camber bolts had to be fitted to get proper alignment (went to Goodyear as best price). When purchasing any new motorhome make sure as part of the deal that they align the wheels.
Jayco does not accept responsibility and says it should be covered by Mercedes Warranty which of course has nothing to do with warranty as Jayco added the motorhome unit to the cab chassis.
