Fine - for a few months!
I got this on special from Big W so at hald price it was cheap enough. My joy, however, was short lived as despite the fact that it probably lasted the best part of a year it's not as if I cook deep fried food every week, far from it in fact. In reality this appliance was probably used about 20 times. What is even more disturbing is the fashion in which it expired, a rather loud pop along with some fireworks followed by smoke and an obnoxious smell, I was barely game to go near it to turn it off at the wall. I class this as not only awful quality but also as potentially dangerous. To add insult to injury I had to eat a very nice Scotch fillet without chips!
Highly un recommended product.

Rubbish
Had a Kambrook deep fryer for years and die so though we would buy another as the old one was fantastic. New one lasted 5 months and used it every 2 weeks, smoke and sparks coming out of control panel. So lucky we was in the kitchen at that time. Put off buying another one. Rubbish

Kambrook crap
Used 15 to 20 times to cook chips and battered fish in the last 18 months. Last night turned it on, within 5 minutes smoke started coming from the control panel. Only good for the bin now. Guess we are looking to replace it with another brand after reading similar reviews here.

Find out how Kambrook KDF560 compares to other Deep Fryers
Know better, choose better.
Do not buy this product!!!
Just like everyone in this post our fryer was good for the first couple of times, now it shuts down and you constantly have to reset it if that works or it just keeps on heating the oil !! Cheap product that is very dangerous especially if your not watching it !

The worst thing that I ever bought for my kitchen.
Absolute garbage. Avoid Kambrook products like the plague. Don't waste your money. I have had mine for only a short time, and use it infrequently. I have only used it a dozen or two times to make potato chips and a couple of times to cook battered fish. I bought it as the 4 litre capacity was the largest I could find. My old Breville DFY10 was a bit too small but, now, it is back in action. I have had it for decades and it still works perfectly. I recommend Breville as heartily as I now condemn Kambrook. I see that Breville have a 4 litre model...Read more
now, the BDF500, with a digital readout, so the temperature markings will not wipe off with use. If I can find the receipt, this Kambrook hunk of junk will be going back to Big W. If not, it will be going in the garbage bin, which is exactly where it belongs. Mine has started blowing the overload button every time I tried to use it, even on lower temperatures, and so I emptied it to clean it, on the assumption that there was an accumulation of solid material in the bottom of the tank affecting the thermostat. On emptying the tank I found very little sediment, but I did find two small clips at the bottom that, at first, appeared as though they might clip onto the heater element, possibly holding the leads to the thermostat away from each other, except that they are very loose fitting and fall off immediately when attempts are made to clip them on, the clamps presumably either having opened up a little over time, caused by the heat, or are supposed to clip elsewhere. There is no image anywhere that I can locate of the interior of the unit to show me where to place them but, as it no longer works, that is a minor problem. I am not at all impressed with this useless piece of junk. The basket doesn't sit level when in use, as the handle prevents if from going far enough in at the front end, and then the other end of the basket is still sitting in the oil when lifted out and clipped onto the rim to drain. Whoever designed this rubbish, should be fired and never allowed to design anything ever again. It is also impossible to read the indented oil level indicators on the interior wall of the black tank, without using a bright torch. When removing the lid, the heat from the window right next to the handle burns your fingers, which is extremely dangerous and will surely lead to legal action at some stage. You can't see through the window, in any case, due to steam condensing on it, so it might as well not be there. After emptying and cleaning, the overload switch still tripped, even when set to only 140 degrees. As an experiment, I waited until it was completely cold and turned the temperature knob to just past the minimum setting. I used a kitchen thermometer to monitor the temperature of the oil. It ignored the dial setting, rapidly rose to 205C, and then triggered the cutout button. The thermostat has failed catastrophically. The hottest temperature on the dial is 190C, of course. This deep fryer is total crap. I would never buy another Kambrook product on the strength of this disaster, and I will be relating this experience to any of my very many friends (and readers, I am a journalist) who might be looking for kitchen equipment.Similar opinion? Terrible! Potential danger!
Purchased in October worked perfectly the first handful of times, after that the deep fryer heated the oil past the temperature and didn't stop until it caused my power to switch off. Kept setting off my safety switch. Now won't even heat up. Waste of money and oil. Would not recommend

A 4 litre deep fryer that lies!
The KDF560 is supposed to hold 4 litres of oil. When 4 litres are added, the oil level sits above 'max' in the bowl and the wire mesh basket sits several centimetres in the oil when clipped onto the bowl for draining... Four litres is four litres, not 3.5 litrs for whoever designed this thing. Apart from that it worked well on its maiden run last night. Will decide soon whether to return it or not as I specifically wanted a 4 litre fryer!
