Karcher SV 7

I used to be a fan of Karcher but after my exprience with this model I dont recommend it. I bought the top model steamcleaner- vaccum. It supposed to do vaccum and steam clean toghether but in practice it doesn't work and the machine shut down when used together or the house disconnects often. When we returned it for fixing the problem to Aquatech Springvale, they didn't touch it and tried their best to show it's a user error which is completely wrong as I followed every steps and watched many YouTube's. Terrible customer service and warranty serivce after only five months of use. Waste of $$$$ and my time.

Doesn’t clean well, leaks water steamer hardly works, hose disconnects from the machine constantly, heavy, noisy, weak suction for the money, lead is too short, instructions are useless, short warranty and when it’s out they charge like a wounded bull to look at it and tell you nothing is wrong. Absolute waste of money.

Subject to my previous review where the motor has failed 3 times and the replacement motor has failed again I gave up on the experts and stripped the motor down myself. This is a very well designed motor however a serious fault has occurred during the manufacturing. Normally the brushes are connected direct to the electrical circuit but in this case the brush case connects to the terminal via a spring loaded clip. Sounds good. What is the point of having a cleaning machine when it not only doesn’t clean, but messes up your floor? The suction is horrible, so it doesn’t really suck up the water residues, thus leaving stupid stains on the floor.

Glass and window nozzle?
Each time you wipe through, you get 3 wipes worth of stain.

The only useful part is when you have a wet stain. Apart from that, a mop and mini vacuum can do the job more efficiently and at 15% of the cost.

This SV7 has caused so much dramas. I first bought it in 2016 and I only use it once every 3 months to clean my 59m2 apartment, causing my power to trip, steam only sometimes work, and because I took it back so many times, Karcher decides to replace me with a brand new SV7 in 2022. Like everything takes a bit of getting used to. My first attempt I only used 1 cup of water - you then have to wait for at least 1/2 hour for it to cool down so you can open the lid to refill - MOST ANNOYING - I have now put in 2 cups & a bit of water and I can now clean my kitchen floor, appliances, bathroom floor & shower & appliances before it runs out. It does a very good job & I am pleased with the attachments. My biggest gripe is the amount of time it takes to cool down so you can refill - I just want to get all my cleaning over & done...

We use the steam cleaner every week to clean a 110m2 apartment and it didnt save any time as they stated in a commercial. It got problems with the pump for the steam on the first usage and the following 2 weeks, send it back and got a response that nothing was wrong, frankly it stopped having issues with the pump since than which was quite strange. However, none of the nozzles do what they are intended to, especially the ones for floors and windows, which were the main reason to buy this machine. They leave stains and the steam doesnt help that...

The results of the SV7 have been poor on my matt finished tiles. My normal spin mop cleans better. I called Karcher service centre, and the advice I was given was to manually clean my tiles first to get rid of the dirt and use the SV 7 later. What is the point of this machine if it cannot clean well as it was advertised. I should have spent less and bought the cheaper steam mop version with the micro fibre cloth which would have picked up more dirt from the tiles than this steam vacuum.

Bought it with 2 years warranty, just far too many problems, water leakage, dodgy seals on suction pipe, never really mops like regular mops, now just out of warranty, steam trigger keeps getting stuck, either you can't stop steam or can't start.
Idea of vacuum and mop at the same time is brilliant but all can be executed far better and reliable.
Also the way they designed the handle is weird, it takes quite some time to get used to it, unintentionally turn it of or adjust vacuum speed very many times .

No way would buy it again.
But 1 credit to be mentioned, air exhausted from vacuum is way cleaner than regular vacuums even with hepa filters.

Use for only 2 years and not nuch may be once a month..
Broke down within 2 year and spend $600 for it not worth to spend this much money better get something cheaper ..
And after contacted them they said will cost $400 to fix seriously ridiculous servise and product dont trust.

A very handy machine if you have a large area to to clean as you do need to rinse everything after the cleaning. Does not need any mycrofibre cloths for the floor attachment - which is great. Cleans as good as usual Karcher steamer Took me a little bit of time to get used to all the attachments and found the manual a little bit less informative then Turkish promotional video. still pleased in investing into it. Have yet to test it out on the carpet and windows.

I just received my Karcher SV7 today. At first I was really impressed by the feel of the parts and accessories. When I started using it to clean grime from my shower and around the taps, it was a massive disappointment. I can hold my hand over the steamer nozzle at full steam and not even be concerned about the heat or pressure, or lack of more so. It's just fog!
The vacuum is what you'd expect from a cheap product bought from 'as seen on TV'.
And the combination of the two made my mop look like a saint.
