My best ever car
This is such a surprising car. I bought the 2 litre Cerato which has heaps of get up and go, is very roomy and comfortable and yet so compact which makes parking easy. It is very reasonably priced for all the features included. The 7 year warranty makes it a real winner in my opinion. I am also finding I am spending less on petrol than I was before.

Kia Cerato Service Gimmick
I bought my Kia Cerato Sport in 2017. It is a good car with loads of features which are not there in this price in other cars. However, I am very disappointed with the service gimmick that they played with me. At the time of sales they agreed for a maximum price of around 289$ but there was a catch to it. When I went after 1 year for the servicing then I got to know that its the price only for the first service then each service will have a higher price. when I checked with them on the capped price then they said that each service price capped ...Read more
but not fixed to an amount and that's their definition of the capped price servicing. Whereas other vendors lock your price at a fixed price and will give you the services at the amount only till the life of the warranty or the agreement. I am feeling cheated now as the services are going upto a maximum of approximately 487$. I am feeling helpless now. I would never go for this car again, if such strategy persists in KIA.

Lots of features for good price
This car has heaps of little features that most cars don't have these days.. e.g. front sensors, android auto/apple car play, reverse camera (with upgraded AV unit pack). For the price you pay, they are good features to have. My car was recently rammed by another car from the rear. The back crumpled. I was safe, but my car is waiting to be repaired by the insurer. Now that i have a rental car (Holden astra), i miss my kia cerato features. Sports mode is also fun. The car is quite zippy and economical on fuel.

I love my Kia!
I purchased a Kia Cerato Sports Plus sedan and i absolutely love it! I have three children and I cannot believe how spacious it is for a small car. My husband, myself and all three kids (one who is still in a forward facing car seat) plus all of our luggage for a week long holiday fit! The boot is very generous. The touchscreen is a perfect size and I love my leather seats. The back seats are surprisingly generous with a good amount of legroom for the size of the car. The fuel economy is fantastic- city driving we average about 8.5 litres per 1...Read more
00 km. It is also so easy to park, thanks to the parking sensors and the reserving camera. It's probably not the most exciting car to drive if you like power, as it lacks a bit of grunt, but if you're looking for an economical, practical, nice looking fuss free little car, this one deserves a look.Similar opinion? Very elegant design - smooth handling
Stylish design, that is affordable if you are looking for a small car. Very good with sharp corners and maneuvering through traffic. Have leather seats, very comfortable. The GPS in built system has a added traffic notice feature that is very good when you want to avoid traffic. . .

Perfect Small Car with lot of punch!!
The best car so far I've had! I bought the Cerato Hatch Sports +, from Essendon Kia, They matched my price and gave me the vehicle with all the extras i wanted within a week. Unbelievable service experience I had. Better than another Kia dealership in the city. It's got the punch when accelerating with the Sports mode. I'm extremely happy with the performance so far and would recommend any one to look at the Kia brand. Would have loved a 60 liter tank, as I need to fill up twice a week due to my weekly travels of over 700 km. I'm still getting used to the Cruise control responsiveness which is little bit slow, in my opinion and previous experience.

Fantastic car at a great price
I'd been searching for a new car for about 6 months, after looking around at a few options and driving around a family members Cerato I decided to go with it. I have been extremely happy with the purchase. Handling is great and the noise is non existent. Rear-parking camera is a godsend and the built in navigation/media unit is fantastic. I use android auto quite often (although it can be a bit finicky as you must be directly plugged in to use some of the functions). Overall the car looks fantastic and I'm extremly happy with my purchase. Running costs are decent too, and the added function of an eco mode is a welcome one.

Great value for money - Sporty and classy
The Kia Cerato drives like a sporty and classy car all in one. It handles the road well in the wet and dry conditions. Extra legroom and height for tall people. Loving the Apple car play. Makes driving a pleasure. Have found the running costs to be lower than previous cars.

Great first car!
This has been my biggest purchase to this date. Overall I am extremely happy with what this car has to offer. For the price point it is packed full of features such as front and rear sensors, aux cable, USB charging front screens to display info. This couldn’t provide more bang for your buck as it is cheap to fill up, around $45 and lasts for what seems forever. It’s very roomy in both front and back and has had no issues running so far.

Quality control and service issues
Booked in Nov 2017 as HeadUnit needed replacing as it was faulty from the factory(Service Agent's Advice). Rebooked Dec 2017 for replacement-didn't arrive so re-appointment for 31 Jan 2018 as agent advised part had arrived. Told part hadn't arrived on 31 Jan 2018....so another appointment if and when the part arrives.

What's not to love!
We have been very happy with our Kia Cerato. Mechanically it has never let us down yet. It is extremely comfortable with leather heat/cool electric seats, auto lights, keyless entry and auto locking, sun roof. Looks are very pleasing. Only problem we have had was with the Radio Head Unit which just died after 2 years and was promptly replaced with a new (and better, more up to date) one. The sedan boot is very large and rear seats can fold down to make it even larger. Great warranty. Great price.

Good Car but has a couple of annoying problems
I bought a 2017 Cerato Sports nearly a year ago. It handles well and has enough power. Inside is very roomy but it is low to the ground and not that easy to get in and out of for a fat old bloke. Sat Nav is not great, Parking sensors seem to turn off randomly. The most annoying thing is trying to fill it with petrol. You pull the petrol flap lever and go around to fill it to find the flap hasn't opened then you go back and do it again and this can take many attempts before it opens. I took it to the dealers to have it fixed and asked if it was ...Read more
a common problem and the bloke said he gets about one a month. So I think it must be a design flaw that has never been fixed. Anyway after waiting an hour and a half they said it was fixed but the next time my wife tried to fill up it had the same problem and in the end she gave up trying. Now to fill it up is a two person job - one person to pull the flap lever up and down and the other to bang on the flap till it opens. It's a shame these small faults spoil a good car. Would I buy another one? I don't think so. I definitely wouldn't pay the couple of grand extra for the "Sports" model - the basic model would have been good enough.Similar opinion? Nice car but still not there yet!!
The vehicle is very comfortable albeit a little low for the elderly. It handles well but a little heavy up front. Tyre rotation is important if you want to get decent mileage from your tyres. I rotate every 5000 kms and that seems to work quite well. Noise level is good, rear view reversing camera is excellent but would have been good with a bit more tech eg GPS etc. The interior is clean well appointed. Recommend a dash mat, helps reduce the exposure of the moulded instrument panel. Exterior the colour (Pearl White) is great. Easy to keep clea...Read more
n. Mags would have made the exterior near perfect but they are optional. Design is good raises some eyebrows. Running costs are good with first service not due till 15000 kms. Economy is good on longer trips, not so good around town. The 7 year extended warranty is the best in town, but beware as I understand if you don't use a genuine Kia Dealer your warranty may be void. Check that out before you buy. Overall I am very happy with the car. It is versatile in the rear with fold down split seats. Plenty of luggage room but still with 3 seats. Worth noting that head room in the rear is higher in the hatch than in the sedan. Enjoy your Kia it is good value for around $20,000 drive away.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Bad radio reception
I have kia cerato 2016 with touchscreen radio panel. The radio reception doesn't work since i bought it. I rang the dealership many times and they keep on saying that this problem is from manufacture and they cant fix this. I took car took car to them twice also but got same reply that they cant fix it as this is problem from manufacture. Fed up with that now.

Cerato Sport + 2018
Great value for money, bought new for $22,900. My son has a Cerato too, they are ultra reliable. The Sport + has an amazing amount of extras; motorised retractable door mirrors, rear air-con, leather seats, cooled glove box, good sat nav plus Android Auto/Apple Car Play. Fuel consumption is great, around 6l/100 km on a run. The ride and handling are sharp. Downsides (which are all mitigated by price and 7 year warranty and Road Side Assist) are; no lane departure/blind sport or adaptive cruise, normal air-con not dual climate, auto box can be a bit erratic at 1st but it has a self learning ECU so it calms down with age. The value proposition is hard to ignore as you feel you're sat in a $40k+ vehicle. Very happy with the purchase

Value For Money
This is an awesome car. with a price point of under $20000 you cannot ask for more.
6SP Automatic transmission, Good leg room, large boot space, touch screen multimedia system with Android Auto and Apple Car play.
It gives a mileage of around 8 Lt/100km.
I love every bit of it. The purchase was smooth, sales representative at Kia Parramatta was very friendly and gave a good deal.

Make sure you know where the Satnav is going and your speed is correct!
I cannot fault the physics or driving of the Cerato, but the Satnav, that's something else, it goes where it wants, sort of; we have gone wrong numerous times because the Satnav is so out of date and for a 2017 Cerato having an old Satnav software is bad! We are on the list for an update on the Satnav, but even that wasn't easy. When I realised the problem, I sent 2 emails to the dealership with no replies, I then emailed KIA Australia, and again, no reply, sad really as I always like things in writing as that is proof of contact, but they make...Read more
you do it on their Website and then there is no proof you have written. After much ado, I telephoned KIA Australia, they informed me that there is a problem with the Satnav software and it is a warrantee item, so go to the dealership and make sure you speak to them face to face. I returned to the Dealership and they denied ever receiving any email from me, but they knew about the Satnav and were waiting for some company to re-write the software, then my name will be on the list for the update no later than February 2018, so now we wait, and there's more! The Satnav has a warning about your speed, if exceeded it says, "You are going too fast!", but if only, this happens when stood, it happens when you are on a main road and you have just entered it, and it is constant when there has been a new road built and completed in the past couple of years. I wondered much about the 2 speedos in the dash, one digital and one the standard odometer; once driving up to Hervey Bay, drivers behind seemed to be a little bit angry, letting me know in uncertain terms, so I installed my Garmin, long my trusted speedo, and to my surprise, based on the Garmin, I was driving slower than I thought, between 5 kilometres and 7 kilometres, depending on road conditions. I asked the dealership about this discrepancy and they told me that this was done on purpose so that customers did not break speed limits, believe it or not! Only time will tell if the Satnav gets fixed, but the speedos in the cars will remain as is, though I feel that it well may be a good idea. However, please do not let this deter anyone from buying a Cerato, they are, have been, and I have no doubt will always be, a great car; my wife and I have talked about this in depth and we both agree, the Cerato is a great car, great to drive, great on fuel economy, and great on safety; so, by a Cerato and you are buying a good car that will serve you well and keep you and or your family very safe, but make sure the software in both the speedometer and the Satnav have been updated.1 comment

Excellent.......except for the radio
The car is great. I bought it as I'm now commuting 100km each way to work and this seemed like a nice, comfortable small car with good fuel economy. And that's exactly how it has worked out. It's comfortable on the long drives, the auto is nice and the Android Auto is great (I picked the Sport model)
BUT the radio reception is useless. Our other two cars pick up JJJ just fine in my area, but in the Cerato I need to be much closer to the city before it's listenable at all. This is a real bummer for such a long commute.

I have a 2013 YD model with the 2.0L engine. The start/stop button electronic button is playing up. Often the steering wheel will not unlock, meaning the car cannot start. A message comes up in the instrument cluster saying to turn steering wheel left and right to unlock it. Its hit and miss and often takes a very long time for the steering wheel to unlock

An update, this month May 2018 took my Cerato Sports back to the dealer, KIA's Rothwell dealer, said they would update my satnav, a real con job, they took my car at 11:23am, they took it and drove it... Read more
into a service bay, then at 11:55am, it was driven back and they told me that the satnav had been updated; well, I have a security camera in the car, so after the car was driven into the service bay, nobody entered the car until they brought it back to me, the security camera didn't come back on until 11:53am. On top of that, we drove it around areas where the satnav incorrectly had the speed wrong as well as directional test, failed both times; I had to be sure before I wrote this, so sad when a dealership not only does the wrong thing but tries to shaft me again, don't they know about security cameras?
