Love this car!! Makes driving enjoyable!
This car is perfect!! We were after a mid sized car that was smaller than our large 4x4, but bigger than a standard SUV. With 4 kids and a camper trailer to tow, this car is the perfect family car. Great size to park in the smallest spaces, rear view camera makes life easier, comfy travelling over long distances. The heated seats are fantastic on cold days!! It is so lovely to drive, I find I drive slower to enjoy it more! Cheap to run, looks great, very quiet and extremely reliable!! Heaps of comfort and style without the hefty price tag.... Will be buying another some day! So glad I read other people's reviews about other makes... I am one happy customer! Well worth a test drive to see for yourself!

Great car & very economical
I bought this as i wanted something safe to drive my son in, along with a reliable compact 4wd. I've owned the Sorento for almost 1yr and its been fantastic. Very economical for a 4wd and the 2.2 litre engine has lots of go. Quiet & comfy. Great visibility too.

Best value for money on the market
Handles like an SUV. Great mileage - 6.5l/100 on country with a full load. Has every extra. Saved thousands on similar alternatives that were available. 5 yr warranty is now 7 yr warranty. Can't pass this offer up. Only issue is finding Kia servicing. All the KIA service centres round Sydney CBD/Eastern suburbs no longer do servicing - only sales. Strange.

What a ripper!
My wife has the Platinum Diesel pearl white. We fight over who drives. Brilliant fuel economy (under 7 l/100km on highway with ac), comfortable, safe. Plenty of power. Fits 3 kiddy seats across the back. Love it and will buy another when the time comes. Oh yeah, 7 years unlimited kilometre warranty plus fixed price servicing. This is cheap motoring that isn't "cheap". Thank you very much Blackburn Kia who are great.

Good car but dealer service and follow up is ordinary
Good driving comfortable and the diesel is very economical. Seats are a little firm, I travelled to Adelaide from Melbourne on less than 3/4 tank really impressed. I would have liked better lights as I am used to spots but I don't want to put them on. Kia design needs to look at the Hyundai for the side steps the Hyundai blends in with a slight sweep whereas the Kia is a square shape and very truck like, hence i didn't get these fitted pity as my daughter would find it easier to get in.
The radio /sat nav needs replacing as it won't change and ...Read more

Platinum - Go for it!
Bought a demo Platinum XM few months back and simply loving it. It's got its platinum feel and the red built in lights catch anyone's eyes at night. Packed with all features you'd look for in a car: GPS, 10 speakers audio, panaromic sunroof, heated/vantilated seats and list goes on...fuel economy and power is very good for this 7 seater. The only couple of downside I find is, very firm seats and sometimes bumpy rides, but overall good value for money! And with 7 yrs warranty, you cannot go wrong!

2012 V6 Sli ....what a pleasure....hooked on Kia
Powerful V6 ...that is smooth and easy to drive and actually pretty good on fuel consumption.
Interior not as prestige as the latest model but still very nice...Plenty of room and very practical with 7 seat standard.
I have rung up 75,000 kms in 3 yrs and the car still feels and drives like new...amazing!
I would definitely recommend to family's who need reliable safe motoring at fantastic pricing.
The car has all the bells and whistles...leather,gps, Bluetooth etc...etc... bargain buying and still offers warranty inside of the 5 yr period.

Impressive Platinum
I purchased a second hand 2011 Sorento Platinum auto diesel with 94000 country ks on it. Paid 25K private. I wasn't game to buy new and not be happy. Our first Kia and first diesel. Last car a 2010, 2.5 petrol 4wd X Trail STL. I love the grunt, fantastic fuel economy, smooth intelligent auto and tight turning circle of the Sorento. Ride is harsher than X Trail and seats not as comfortable although the Sorento has more leg room in the back. The rear of the XTrail was very practical with the large squarish rear door and low sill opening, and flat...Read more
folding second row seats, although the Sorento loading area works well with 3rd row seats folded away. Kia Australia have also happily approved a new cruise control switch cluster (cancel button was sticking down) and replacement rear shocks under warranty without argument, which has impressed me given the age of the vehicle. After 6000 ks overall performance, functionality and quality of the Kia has probably been better than my initial expectations.3 comments

Love This Car!
We love this car. So roomy and heaps of added extras. We have 6 people in our family and we're so glad we traded our Prado in for this car. I love leather seats in a mid range model. Sat nav works well and so does the cruise control and climate control. It drives beautifully and is more affordable than others such as the Kluger or Mazda.
The only negative is the placement of the hazard lights. We always find that we lean on it whilst programming the sat nav or using the touch screen.
Best thing about it is it's comfortable. The power tail gate that senses you and opens automatically. Plus the doors that unlock when you walk up to it. Best purchase I ever made!

Love it every day
We purchased a 2014 SLI Sat Nav brand new twelve months and 18000Km ago. The car is used for everything from my wife's shopping and school runs, to our weekends away with the kids and dogs camping in State Forests. It has never missed a beat and doesn't even realise it has a full trailer on the back.
Power to boot (I'm a V8 owner to, so I know what power is), low turbo lag and it barely uses fuel compared to other SUV's I have driven. Continuous around town short runs it sits on around 8.5 / 100 but I have a lead foot, towing the trainer loa...Read more
ded on the Hume it will dip into the 7's. From Mt Vic to Penrith down the mountain it only used 3Lts /100 LOL. The car is super comfy on long drives and has plenty of room, even with all 7 seats up and the in-laws on board. As for options, we looked at every conceivable SUV on the market before we bought and the Sorrento wins hands down as best bang for buck. Could not be happier at this stage. As long as Kia keep this up, we will replace it with another one without question in 4 years.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I just love my Kia Sorento
I fell in love with my MY2014 Kia Sorento on the test drive. I've had it for two years now and I still love driving it every time I take it out. Nothing has gone wrong with it The V6 petrol motor is quite punchy, and I average about 10.3L/100Km in non-peak-hour outer suburban driving. It would easily get 8L/100Km on a trip. I really like the front and rear parking sensors, and the rear view camera, since they make maneuvering in close quarters an absolute piece of cake. Other things, like the cruise control, while they also work well, I don’t a...Read more
ctually use. I like the electric mirror adjustment too, though again for me it is “set once and forget”, since I’m the only driver. The sound system has lots of options too, but I mostly listen to the AM radio, which is a good performer. The 6 speed auto is a smooth performer. Often I have no idea what gear it is in because it shifts so smoothly. Lovely car. :)Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Best value 7 seater SUV
Bought this new vehicle (2015 Sorento Platinum) to replace my BMW X3. Did not want to pay the premium for another BMW and the Sorento was the closest I could get to Q5/X3 for my $55k budget. In many ways it surpasses the X3 as far as features and refinement is concerned and the interior quality is very good. Everything is soft touch and feels a class above.
My only gripe would be the Infotainment display that picks up a lot of reflection from the light/stone coloured interior in direct sunlight. I think this will not be an issue if you have ...Read more
a black interior so take that into account if you are looking at a similar vehicle. Fuel consumption has been good at 8.0L/100km and the first 3000km service was efficient and quick although the service centre does not have the same upmarket vibe as the BMW dealerships. (Which is fine by me since I paid a lot less). In conclusion; if you don't mind the KIA badge this is a great buy and well and truly an alternative to the premium mid-sized SUV's.Similar opinion? Sorento 2015 2.2 Diesel- Class Above The Rest!!!
Hi guys,
Just wanted to share an honest feedback of the All New Kia Sorento SLI 2.2 Ltr Diesel. Its a class above the rest . Never drove/considered a Kia before. Was driving a Q5 but felt a need to upgrade to a 7 seater. Wanted something powerful (since Audi Q5 was) and economical at the same time. So my requirements ruled out Kluger/CX-9, since they are THIRSTY!!!
Saw the new Kia Sorento in the market and took 2.2 litre Turbo diesel for a test drive. I instantly fell in love with this car since it had AMAZING smoothness for a diesel car ...Read more
and SURPRISINGLY minimal cabin noise. In fact, once you accelerate slightly to a speed of 30 or more, you can barely hear any noise and bet you, it will be hard to figure out if u driving a petrol or a diesel machine. Kia has really raised its standard with the 2015 Sorento with European styling externally & internally. Only annoying thing is the bluetooth. Since you need to touch screen to look for people's name to call them, even though steering wheel has call receive/decline option. But I am more than happy to compromise on the blue tooth user friendliness for a drive that is to die for. The new Sorento offers 3 driving modes :Normal, Eco, Sports. My favorite is the Eco mode for daily city driving and Sports mode for highway. It will just CRUISE on the Sports mode. If you are in market for a spacious 7 seater that is feature packed/economical/powerful than I strongly recommend to test drive the 2015 Kia Sorento!!!Similar opinion? Confirmation of Sorento timing chain problems
My 2008 EX 2.5L Diesel Sorento started to run rough and noisy at about 160,000kms. Timing chain proved to be worn and slack and needed replacement, in spite of the manual telling me that the chain would never have to be replaced for the lifetime of the motor. Would that mean that this model Sorento is only supposed to last for 160,000 ks only? Lucky I had it checked in time and avoided major problems!!

Spectacular Sorento BL Diesel
Got to fully agree with Jack and his endorsement of the Sorento diesel. I have had my 2008 EXL auto from brand new. I've towed a 2200kg van around Oz for over 100,000km across the Nullabor return 4 times, from the Snowys minus 5C to 45C in Cape Tribulation and Mt Isa. Temp gauge never varies by more than a 1/4 of a notch. Only problem so far after 160, 000km was a couple of loose bolts on the turbo, fixed in 10 mins. Only upgraded the shockies to Bilsteins after 10, 000km to minimise cornering roll. I'm one very very happy Sorento owner.

Great Car
Great car, nice to drive, excellent economy, and surprisingly good off road! Seven seater is a true seven seater and not just for short trips. Good roll on power for overtaking, generally not much we don't like! Some better headlights would be good, and as the car ages, maybe we will add the king springs as we have heard good reviews about the upgrade.

182000 kms and still going well- no issues or warranty claims- had a problem with rats eating through some wiring - brake pads replaced & discs honed at about 150000- otherwise all good

Kia! Who would've thought!
Purchased an ex demo 2014 Kia Sorento about 3 months ago, almost clocked 10,000kms.. Fuel consumption is amazing for an suv averages about 6.8 litres on long runs and 7.4 on shorter trips (that's the diesel) Very spacious we purchased with the future in mind perfect for kid seats, boot space is huge and can fold down 2nd row to add more room, safe car, not to cluttered on dash easy to use Bluetooth and radio controls, has dual climate air con (big decider for my partner and I haha) reverse camera is great for those tight spots or a lil help wit...Read more
h reverse parking.. We test drove Nissan x trail and Nissan qashqai, Holden Captiva, Mitsubishi Outlander, Hyundai i30 we didn't think Kia were any good until we test drive the Sorento! Purchased the basic model still has all the necessary features minus all the jazzy stuff like leather seats and sun roof! Great price and warranty with Kia is pretty good! I would recommend doing research on different car yards that stock the Sorrento as we got told a few lies but all in all an awesome car that's very economical and spacious and feels very safe to driveSimilar opinion? Reliable and great for towing medium size caravan
I had to overcome my brand snobbery, but after reading the reviews decided to make the plunge on a 2011 Kia Sorento Platinum. Almost 20K on the clock now. Our diesel automatic has impressed us a great deal. Very smooth gearbox, lots of torque, fantastic fuel economy, even when towing 1600kg van (without using the cruise control). Engine is very responsive, which is handy when overtaking those road trains with the caravan in tow. The suspension is firm. I haven't made my mind up if I like the suspension or not. The vehicle corners and handles we...Read more
ll, but damaged road surfaces are quite noticeable inside the vehicle. Have taken it on gravel and sandy roads, and have been impressed by the handling. I would like to learn more about off-road capability beyond straight beach running and if AT tyres will improve this capability and the overall ride. I'll keep searching for answers... Update mid 2015; The vehicle has performed almost flawlessly. Almost because of a starter motor failure. This was replaced under warranty, however the downside here was that it took one month to complete since there was no starter motor anywhere in Australia. Received a courtesy vehicle from the dealership after two weeks. The vehicle now has over 70K on the clock and performs exceptionally well. We are very happy with it. Road noise has reduced a lot since we recently replaced the factory fitted Kumho tyres with updated Kumho tyres. After 70,000km on the road, and taking value for money into account, I rate the Kia Sorento excellent. Gearbox, Engine, extra gadgets included, such as proximity key, bluetooth, USB port. Judge still out on the suspensionSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Warning
I own a Kia Sorento 2010 SLi which has just completed 90ks. Excellent vehicle on most fronts but has had its share of issues. Warranty claims include, sump pan oil leak at 30ks, heat sensor in transmission failure at 60ks, followed by pan oil leak for 30ks & finally fixed after two years of complaint. Oil leak in tappet cover and timing gear cover. Passenger seat belt buckle failure. Hole in drivers seat back material. Cargo blind failure. The dealership has been very good in agreeing to correct the issues when raised by me. Warranty not a prob...Read more
lem. However despite appropriate dealer servicing none of the oil leaks were detected by the service technicians and only after considerable desk thumping by me were the leaks actually fixed. The issue is that technicians do not remove the engine under body plate when servicing and therefor cannot see oil leaks until they are bad enough to drip from the cover onto your floor. In my cases the technicians were initially simply wiping down the oil leaks. My advice is that Kia will warrant failures but check on the service technicians yourself.Similar opinion?
