Love it & great service from Kitchenaid
Love my mixer, it has worked well over the last 7.5 years, use it for cakes, great at egg whites, and I regularly do pizza dough in it - enought to make 3 pizza bases per batch and its lovely to have a mixer that doesn't hop all over the bench when doing dough like my old cheap model did. Also get a lot of use out of the pasta attachment.
The small lever arm on the side cracked off after 7 years of heavy use - this didn't make the machine un-usable, just a little less comfortable on the fingers. I wasn't able to contact kitchenaid about it until the machine was about 2 months out of warranty (as I'd just had a baby when it happened so was preoccupied), but they still kindly agreed to cover the repair under warranty - great service :-)

Lives up to its reputation!
Love, love, love my KitchenAid mixer. Met all my expectations. Mixes cakes beautifully, perfectly whips egg whites & cream. Have also bought the food grinder/mincer & slicer/shredder attachments & they work exceptionally well also. Well worth the price & looks beautiful on my kitchen bench.

Love it (but is expensive!)
I'm in love with my kitchenaid. The first time I used it to whip cream it turned into butter as I didn't realise how quickly it would whip up (after having only had a hand-held electric beater previously). I found it hard deciding on what colour to get - I ended up with the red but now wish that I had the ice blue. The only downside is the cost (and the accessories are quite expensive as well) but I feel that it's definitely worth it if you can afford it!

Love it
I have had mine for just over 5 years now and I absolutely love my KitchenAid Artisan mixer. Have not had a single problem with it so far. Definately worth every single cent. Use it for making cake batter, buttercream icing, whipping cream and even make mashed potatoes in it, and the list is endless. I would definately recommend it to anyone thinking of purchasing one.

Not just a pretty mixer
Bought one of these after my Sunbeam finally packed it in. What can I say, stay away from the pretend red ones and stick with the original.

Built like a tank!
Yes, they're built like tanks, and almost as heavy (just kidding - but they are heavy). I love ours - so much, I won't make cakes that don't involve using a mixer. Bullet proof quality and they make short work of tons of mixing tasks. We have a Magimix sitting in the corner looking all dejected because we hardly use it any more. Do yourself a favour and get an extra mixing bowl, and the fantastic KitchenAid rubber spatula.
EDIT: I read some of the negative reviews below and want to make a couple of points. NO mixer has rotating parts ...Read more
that reach the bowl edge for obvious reasons. The KithenAid is no exception. Yes, when creaming butter and sugar together (or other sticky ingredients) I have had to run the spatula around the edge, but certainly not constantly. Once or occasionally twice, if its a cheesecake. As for these things breaking - that's really surprising given that many friends have one of these and they haven't had any quality issues either. Unbreakable build quality, great range of accessories and lovely colour range. A weeny bit heavy. Gunk gets caught under spring loaded guard where you plug in the mixing attachment.Similar opinion? Terrible Quality and Worthless Warranty
I brought my mum a kitchenaid for christmas last year, in white.
within a year, the hinge portion of the kitchenaid failed and was not locking/unlocking properly.
contacted kitchenaid for warranty, terrible customer service but that is besides the point.
no pick-up service, and the service center is a hours drive away.
it was a simple none electrical problem and required 2 weeks to fix.
did not contact me when it was fixed, i only found out it was fixed when i did a follow up call.
a hour drive to go pick it up during service center's opening hours as stated on the card. IT WAS CLOSED.

Perfect
I have a kitchenaid food processor and have been wanting a stand mixer for years and now I finally have one. i have only used it once so far but I am very impressed. It's solid looks beautiful on my bench. It's quiet to use and comes with a whisk, beater and dough hook which will be very handy
Solid well made, easy to clean, stylist and i can add attachments easily ie: mincer/grinder
nothing so far

Very Pretty but not that efficient
I love the look of my Kitchen Aid but I've found that the beaters don't reach the edge of the bowl, even with the rubber attached. I am constantly having to stop the machine take out the bowl and scrape down the sides.... constantly. It makes using the machine a chore. It's such a shame because it looks lovely. I also bought the vegetable chopper and noticed that I had to tilt the machine to make the carrots come out. If I didn't tilt the machine the carrots blocked the shute.
Colour and cuteness
Leaves food build up on the edges of the bowl.

Best thing since sliced bread!
I've had this mixer for many years now and gradually added accessories along the way. Ice cream bowl, glass bowl, half bowl, scraper beater, mincer, juicer, bowl covers. It is used frequently and is hardly a bit of bench candy in our house. The kids love the glass bowl, as they can watch the ingredients coming together from a safe distance.
I had a problem where the head wouldn't lock in place anymore, and Kitchenaid Australia were excellent in explaining what needed to be done to adjust the beater height and fix the problem. Good as new :...Read more

Our best ever kitchen buy!
I've had this mixer for about 6 years now, and I use it once a day on average. I make everything in it - ice cream, cakes, cookies, bread, pancake batter.... couldn't do without it now.
I have seen a few reviews talk about the machine not handling dough, but that hasn't been my experience. I did have to replace the sacrificial nylon gear once (after 4 years of use) after using it to make a heavy pizza dough, but I've made bread several times a week since then and have made pizza dough since and not had an issue. Personally, I'm very happy...Read more
to have an item with a designed weak point that is easily replaced. The gear itself was a few dollars to replace, and the tub of grease was about $10 and will last about 6 changes. That's a lot cheaper than a friend's Sunbeam brand that burned the motor out on dough and had to be thrown out because it wasn't able to be repaired. It does a pretty good job overall, the only improvement I'd like to see is some means of scraping down the sides of the bowl without having to stop and lift the mixer. Or not having to scrape the bowl in the first place, I suppose. For most applications this isn't an issue and I don't bother. The other thing is, with a large batch of dough (e.g. my batch does two large loaves) you have to keep an eye on it because the dough can knead its way up the side of the bowl and be a bit annoying. good value for the life span of the machine, easily serviced, absolute workhorse of my kitchen dough can work its way up the side of the bowl, a bit annoying to lift the mixer to scrape the sides.Similar opinion? I am so impressed....
I couldn't wait for my Kitchenaid to arrive and I just loved it from the minute I opened the box. It was so well packaged which was great too. I had a baking day to try it out. The focaccia bread was the best I have ever made. I made two sponge cakes and they are so so light. I have never been able to get enough air into the mix before but these are wonderful. I also whipped marshmallow and the same mixture I usually use was this time nearly double in volume and so quick to mix too. I just love it. Wish I had bought one many years ago.
I found the bigger motor meant the machine didn't work so hard to achieve great results

Love it!
This is the mixer I should have bought the first time around. After a repair, a replacement & finally a refund from the Breville ProScraper, I bought the KitchenAid (in boysenberry). It is a strong, sturdy mixer & extremely versatile. I use it for the usual baking; but most often I use it to make pasta dough, which is does incredibly easily. I just mix the dough with the standard blade, then when the dough has all come together, switch to the dough hook & leave the KitchenAid to do its thing for a few minutes. Perfect!
I have also bought the...Read more
pasta press & the pasta roller attachment set. These are so much quicker & easier to use than the manual pasta rollers & extruder that I used to have; making enough macaroni or rigatoni for a family of six takes about 10 minutes or so; lasagne sheets would be well under 5 minutes. The sheets can also be used for cannelloni or ravioli, or with a change of attachment, cut into spaghetti or fettuccine. I do find that rolling & cutting the spaghetti works better than making the spaghetti in the press as it seems to stick together when I cut it from the press. I also have the KitchenAid drying rack to hang the long strands. I use the press mostly to make macaroni (which it can do in two different sizes), rigatoni & fusilli. Making fusilli is a little more time-consuming as the machine has to be at a lower speed, (speed two seems to work best), to get the twist right. I am pleased though that I now can make fusilli as I struggled with my manual extruder to turn the handle at just the right speed to get the twist. The wire whisk of course is perfect for pavlovas & sponges. I have bought the scraping beater for cakes but it's not absolutely necessary as the standard beater doesn't leave much on the sides. I even use my KitchenAid for mashing potato - lazy I know but hey I've got the machine, I may as well get the most out of it! I purchased the pasta attachments from the US as they were cheaper & as they are driven from the electrics of the machine, can be bought from anywhere in the world. The pasta roller set I bought from overstock.com. After a few months a piece cracked in it. I was worried that I wouldn't have any warranty as it had been purchased overseas but KitchenAid said that they had had a faulty batch & posted out the replacement part straight away at no charge, no questions asked. So, pretty happy with the after-sales service at this point! :) Btw, I love the colour too! Strong, sturdy, versatile as you can attach accessories to the front. Not a thing!Similar opinion? More "Bench candy" than anything else.
I desperately wanted a Kitchenaid, for years. My husband made me wait for ages, with a maybe for my birthday....I was wrapped when the day came and I received a Kitchenaid Artisian in Almond Cream. I couldn't wait to do my first batch of pizza dough - No more hand kneading! That's pretty much when the fun ended. It overheated on the first batch of dough. I mean it was screaming hot to touch, smelt like burning, after just a few minutes. The head didn't lock down properly either, and kept popping up while mixing. Don't get me wrong, that Kitchen...Read more
aid was beautiful to look at - like a classic car. But for the serious home cook - don't bother. My Kitchenaid has since been replaced with a Kenwood Chef Major 1200w, for the same price, double the dough and it doesn't even blink. It's not as pretty, but a workhorse it is, and I love it. Looked great on my kitchen bench. Would be suitable if you only wanted to mix the odd cake or whip some cream. Weak at only 300w, overheated easily, Head did not lock down properly. Not suitable for dough.1 comment

Lives up to expectations
I love my KitchenAid mixer! So far I have only used it with the standard attachments but I am impressed that you can also get icecream, mincing, sausage making attachments.
It is very heavy weight, nice and stable and looks very stylish on my kitchen bench. Everyone comments on it!
Functionality is excellent, various speeds and makes life a lot easier in the kitchen!
Reliable, stylish, works great.
Bit expensive but I expect that it will last for a very long time.

Doesn't seem relevant to a toaster
Yes, you're quite right! This was meant to be under the Kitchen Aid Mixer, don't know how it's ended up on the toaster!

Love affair with a mixer!
I have owned the Artisan 150 for about 2-3 years now and am still as thrilled (or maybe even more thrilled) with it now as I was when I first bought it. It is perfect for cakes and meringues and cream and royal icing and I even make ice cream in it (not using the ice cream attachment but just the stainless steal bowl then freezing and mixing hourly). Last year I bought the glass bowl and find it very useful (ie as I can put this in the microwave) and just to have two bowls. The handles on the bowls are very useful when transferring the mixture.
Everything, mixes perfectly
The addons are very expensive!

I order the "addons" from Amazon, they are much cheaper but check the postage as well.
I can't wait to have one to use for my kitchen! I love baking and this will make it easy for me. I found some great useful info about it here http://kitchenaidstandmixerreviewsartisan.blogspot.com/

Love it.
I needed a new mixer and it was a big decision on my part to go with KitchenAid due to the price. I am so pleased I did. I love it. I have mixed small amounts, and because of the design of the bowl, it manages this very well. It certainly makes the fluffiest pavlovas.
Beats wonderfully from small amounts (1 egg) to huge cake mixtures.
It is heavy, but that does not worry me as I keep it on my benchtop.

Go get one now and be fashionable
I had wanted a kitchenaid for donkey's years and finally purchased it this year at a good discount.
Ive only used it as a mixer and not used any of the optional attachments like the food grinder, or sausage makes but am keen to give them a go.
The machine is sturdy construction and hopefully will last a long time considering its cost
easy to use, sturdy, gets the job of cake making done in a fun way
doesnt scrape all the cake mix off the bottom or sides properly

The Best
I got this for a birthday present one year, I love it, it's so versatile. I've now increased the amount of things I bake. It's good quality, sturdy and really does the job. It comes with a few attachments but there are so many more that you can get, meaning that it doesn't just mix but will mince and make the pasta too.
It's study and powerful
It's pricey and quite heavy if you needed to pack it away after each use

Hi Judi, both the KSM150 and KSM160 include the pouring shield. Can you please reach out to our customer care team on 1800 990 990 and they will be able to assist further? Thanks, The KitchenAid Team
Aarti C.asked
Hi. I have a ksm150. I was planning on buying an extra bowl for it. I Am getting a 4.7 ltr bowl at a shop near me but wasn't sure it will fit as I suppose ksm150 has a 4.8ltr bowl. Let me know if that is ok or which one to buy
2 answers
Whether or not the bowl will fit has more to do with how it locks into the machine than anything else. The size of the bowl won't make much difference. However ensure the bowl is made specially for use with kitchenaids as they need a particular diameter and shape in other for the beater action to be effective, and they have a lock in mechanism that is different in manufacture than most other brands. A universal one may not work.
Thuy B.KitchenAid
Hi Aarti, we recommend purhasing the 4.8L stainless steel bowl for the KSM150. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
The KitchenAid Team

Misselleau, try contacting Kitchenaid Australia and they will give you instructions on a screw to turn to fix the beater height, which will fix the head lock down. After a few years mine did the same. It's as good as new now :)
